This was the perfect transfer from our cruise ship to the airport. Despite delays in de-docking caused by a car accident near port, the team ensured they boarded everybody as soon as possible. Due to the delay, they dropped everyone off at the airport with earlier flights that didn’t have time to make it to the cultural center and then continued the excursion with the rest of us.

      Well done cultural heritage experience

      Susan_H, Jun 2026
Allow enough time to do a tour of the recreated dwellings, watch a cultural show. At least 2 and a half hours would be best. We were on a tour and had to rush through in an hour and a half

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re so glad you enjoyed your visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center. We typically allow groups around two hours at the Heritage Center, though the exact timing can vary based on group size, flight schedules, and the overall timing of the transfer from Whittier to Anchorage. On occasion, factors such as the Whittier tunnel schedule or traffic delays may require us to adjust the time slightly in order to best accommodate everyone in the group. We appreciate your recommendation and are glad you were still able to enjoy the center. Thank you again for joining us.

Patience in the rain and sleet

      Katherine_F, May 2026
Will was patient, kind, and helpful. This was under the less-than-ideal situation of hail and rain at the Transportation Terminal in Whittier, AK. He explained what he would do with our luggage and was thorough by doing several headcounts so no one got lost! He gave a running commentary about what we were seeing on the trip to the Native Alaskan Center and on the way to the airport. He took care of all the luggage at the airport and made sure that we were all taken care of safely!

      Great experience

The drive from Whittier to Anchorage is gorgeous. Our guide, Will, was an excellent driver as well as a virtual fountain of information about the geography and history of the area. The Alaska Native Heritage Center was a great addition to an Alaska trip delving into the history of native peoples of Alaska featuring displays of old and new garments and tools. Outside were examples of totems and various styles of homes. There was also an extensive exhibit on the shameful Indian boarding schools. I highly recommend this tour.

We had Will on bus 103 as our tour guide. He was extremely informative, pleasant and made sure everyone was comfortable What a good experience!!

      Relaxing and educational....

Relaxing and educational. Daniel did a great job explaining viewpoints along the way. The heritage center was interesting- learned a lot.

      Great Excursion

      Carly_C, Jul 2025
Daniel picked us up from the terminal and moved our luggage to the van with ease. He took us for a small tour around the small town of Whittier and told us of the history of the town. On the way to Anchorage he told us the history of the area, the long tunnel, the landmarks along the way. We made several photo stops before stopping at the Alaskan Native Heritage Center. Daniel escorted us inside, checked us in and asked what time we would prefer to be picked up. He said he would remain close by and if we needed anything prior to our agreed, pick up time to just text him and let him know. We thoroughly enjoyed the heritage center and were absolutely impressed with all of the things that we learned while walking the property we were approached by a young lady who worked there asking us to come inside because there was a bear siting on the property. Fortunately, Daniel was outside and able to catch a video of the bear that he shared with us. This was a great excursion so glad we did it and thoroughly enjoyed our time with Daniel.
