It is a full day of exploring parts of Alaska you won’t see from the cruise ports. A wonderful way to travel to Anchorage with pickup from cruise terminal and drop off at your hotel or the airport. Taylor Luo was a great guide!! We made many stops, he pointed out things such as a moose and mountain goats and was vet informative, patient, and kind. It was a beautiful day!!

Lots to see and learn along this tour. Ye was a great guide. Beautiful scenery, fun facts and lots of animals too!

You do see some sights but it was a long day and after the cruise we both agreed that it would have suited us better to just go straight to airport and take an earlier flight home.

Taylor did a great job taking us to many interesting locations and giving us background information on the area. It was the perfect way to spend some time before our flight.

We booked this excursion to avoid sitting in the airport for 12+ hours. Ye was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable of the area and was so kind to share his knowledge with us and to answer any questions that we had. We especially enjoyed the 2 mile hike and the wildlife refuge. It was so much better than sitting in the airport!

Great way to get back to airport after cruise if you have the time. We saw many glaciers, waterfalls, bears, moose and other animals at the conservation, and beautiful scenery while learning about the area from our guide Lee.

We had a relaxed walk to Byron Glacier, was nice, especially within half hour after getting off the ship.

a Free form excursion that gave the traveler a great taste of Anchorage and the sorounding area. The virgin falls were the highlight of the day Luncg at the brewery was a great addition that we did not know was on the tour.

We went on a cruise and took this excursion from Whittier to Anchorage. Our driver was very nice and informative. We got to see some of Alaska we would not have seen on the cruise. This excursion was awesome!

This was a fantastic way to transfer to Anchorage. Geoff was amazing. He took us to several hidden locations. He was a great tour guide and provided us with a wealth of information. Communication skills were also excellent. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Great all day excursion for after a cruise! Lots of great spots visited between Whittier and Anchorage. Great if you have an evening flight out of Anchorage. Our guide Kylee was great!

Highly recommend this airport transfer tour. We took this tour at the conclusion of our cruise in Whittier and picked up a rental car in Anchorage for more touring on our own. We were met by our guide, Echo, outside the cruise terminal who handed each of us a generous snack pack as we boarded the van. They will find you at the cruise port, don't worry! Your guide will carry a sign with the tour company name (Alaska Horizon Adventure) on it and call out your name looking for you. My husband and I were on this tour with our 22 year old son. We were joined on the tour with another 6 people all from the same family celebrating a 50th Wedding Anniversary. Age range of the entire group was from about age 12 to late 70's. Echo, our tour guide, did a great job of keeping things interesting for everyone and we never felt like we were missing out on anything due to the ages of the people on the tour. We hiked the Byron Glacier Trail, a two to three mile round-trip, out and back hike. Again, this was something easily managed everyone on the tour and as it was raining, Echo made sure that everyone was up for hiking in the rain and would have adjusted the schedule accordingly if not.
A stop at the Wildlife Conservation Center was followed by a lunch stop in Girdwood where we enjoyed some wonderful pizza. Following lunch, we hiked the Virgin Creek Falls Tour which was a short 1/2 mile out and back hike in a coastal temperate rainforest. It was absolutely gorgeous! We also stopped at Potter Marsh where we saw a moose, a bald eagle's nest, and salmon in the river.
Since none of us were rushed to catch flights home, we spent about a total of 7 hours on this tour, which for us, made it easily the tour that gave us the most bang for the $'s spent. It was very enjoyable, we appreciated being able to get out and walk around at each stop. We were never bored, nor did it ever feel like this tour was too long. Highly recommend this tour!

Very nice tour. Great sample of many things from Whittier to Anchorage. Glad I took this route instead of the train. Our driver/guide Lijuan was very knowledgeable about Alaska, very upbeat and happy to answer any questions you may have. Also great recommendation on dining for that evening.

This is more than just a transfer with a tour!!! From before Kylee even picked us up, she communicated and was nothing but personable and positive! We were 2 of a total group of 10 from our cruise, tired but excited. Kylee pivoted when necessary without batting an eye. She really got to know us, and tapped into what we liked, and were able to
Do being so tired. She even gave tips of the best places to eat and see in Anchorage for those of us staying at a hotel and not flying out that day.
I can’t say enough about how great it was!!

Perfect paced tour / transfer from the cruise ship in Whittier to our hotel in Anchorage. Loved the wildlife refuge and the photo stops.
Pizza for lunch was very good.
Our local guide / driver was very entertaining and informative.

We had the best last day of our cruise, experiencing the best of Anchorage. Taylor was full of knowledge about the area and took us to see many things not on the itinerary. The ride was comfortable and he took us to a great spot for us to get some lunch. He had a bag of snacks for us when we first got on the bus. He also had car seats for the two little ones in our group.

Excellent experience! We had a great time going to see live animals in sanctuary and the gorgeous views along the way. The tour was relaxing and fun .

Excellent excursion after disembarking from our cruise ship. First of all the reservation was easy to make and being able to pay later (right before the trip) was a nice advantage.
Our guide; Kaylee did an awesome job, from being in touch with us prior to our pick-up, taking us to several different places along the way before our last drop off at the Anchorage airport. She was very personable and shared some amazing stories along the way.
Since our flight was leaving at midnight and we had to be off the ship by 9:00am, I felt this was the best choice since it involved 8 hours of seeing more of Alaska on our final day. The other excursions which the cruise line offered were only 1-2 hours long.

This was a fun way to spend a day, Leona our guide did a great job of being flexible with the weather and changing itinerary to fit the day. Was picked up on time, there were three other parties with us. We went to hotels and airport at the end. Everyone got to were they needed to be. Enjoyed seeing the bears and mooses, bird hike where we saw eagles. Would recommend.

This was such an amazing day! Geoff was so friendly and knowledgeable - he is a resident of Anchorage. We had a small group so he was willing to take us to even more stops than anticipated. We had plenty of time at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center - we were able to do a complete tour and see all the animals - amazing!!! Fortunately, we had great weather and equal desire for adventure. Thank you Geoff for everything!!!

Lee was amazing. Very considerate of what everyone wanted to do, felt like a private tour. Van was comfortable and even though I was in the back seat, easy enough for me as 80 yr old to get in and out of.
Only issue was the confusion as to where to meet driver in the chaos of anchorage cruise terminal.
David_T, Jul 2026
Kevin took great care of us. We made lots of stops. Possibly a little more than expected. Most of which were very entertaining.
Rachel_A, Jul 2026
It was a great tour that showed some cool points of interest, Alaskan beauty, animals, and a good route from Whittier to the airport. Our guide was great! Highly recommend Kevin.

Geoff was an awesome tour guide. He communicated very well prior to our tour. It’s very apparent he loves Alaska and his job of sharing the big sites as well as some local sites. His knowledge of history, geography, local lore, etc was incredible. Thanks Geoff!!
lynnjacobson, Jul 2026
Daniel was knowledgeable and very accommodating of our group. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, we still had a great experience and appreciated the flexibility of having our own driver & vehicle for the day.
Barbara_S, Jul 2026
Awesome trip and experience. Geoff gave us a fully guided tour of all the cool spots between Whittier and Anchorage, as well as an in depth Anchorage tour. Very pleasant and knowledgeable guide
William_B, Jul 2026
Prepare for walking in wet weather as you move from ship to the airport. Realize that some ticket counters only open 3 hours before your flight - so find a place to rest with your bags until check-in.
Amber_E, Jul 2026
We had beautiful weather on our cruise, but it rained throughout this tour. Oh well. Our tour guide, Taylor, did a great job of showing us what he could given the weather. He was able to drive through AWCC and we got out of the vehicle at spots in which the animals were close to the fence line. Lot's of great photos taken! Unfortunately, we did not see belugas at Beluga Point, but that's nature. Since our stops at various spots were shortened by the weather, we were able to stop at Alaska Wild Berry products which was great!
DeWayne_T, Jul 2026
Super convenient pickup with a lot of great stops along the way. The weather was not ideal on the day we arrived, but we pushed through and still enjoyed the day. The AWCC was a great opportunity to get some up close animal photos. The Potter Marsh allowed us to see some wild moose and a Bald Eagle. Definitely was better than just straight to the airport. (American Airlines counter didn't even open until 6pm)
Leona was great guide!

We traveled from Whittier to Anchorage by taking the "long, scenic route" - a most excellent choice. Our driver, Geoff "with a G", was outstanding. As an Anchorage native, he knows the area well and filled us with stories, history, sightings, and fun to make the end-of-the-cruise journey to Anchorage memorable. We saw some eagles, moose (in the wild), moose and bison (in the preserve), and more of the Alaskan landscape before we hopped on planes and went back home. Excellent way to end a very good week of travel.
BRIGITTE_V, Jul 2026
We felt it just a waste of money and time. We would have been better of renting a car ourselves, go to the wild life reserve and skip all the junky tourist shop.
The tour guide was basically dropping us off at various locations while she stayed in the car. Just a glorified shuttle service.
