There are walking tours and there are bus tours, but this unique Segway tour provides an entirely new perspective on the city of St Petersburg in Florida.
Your tour begins at North Straub Park with a brief but thorough training session to make sure everyone feels comfortable and knowledgeable about their Segway. A helmet and safety equipment, plus bottled water and an audio headset are provided.
With the training out of the way, it’s time to hit the open road.
On this 2-hour Segway tour around St Petersburg, cruise along Bay Shore Drive next to Tampa Bay, past Victorian-style homes to the downtown area. Learn about the history and culture of the Tocobaga Indians, who lived in small villages at the northern end of Tampa Bay from the year 900 to the 1500s. It is believed that their princess was the inspiration for Disney’s story of Pocahontas.
Then visit the spot where the world’s first commercial flight took off — the St Petersburg-Tampa Airboat Line on January 1, 1914. See pictures of the pilot, Tony Jannus, as well as the aircraft he used on that first flight. Continue down to St Petersburg Pier, a landmark and tourist spot that extends into Tampa Bay. Learn about its development and importance to the city and check out the once-endangered brown pelicans mixing with the locals and diving into the water for food.
Finally, return to North Straub Park to conclude the tour.

Doo was a patient, kind, and knowledgeable guide. Segways were a great way to view a large area in a short time and get a lay of the land. Highlights for us were the dolphins, the palm tree park, and the Dali museum. Recommend!

With my 16 year old grandson visiting I wanted to find an active, fun and educational activity to do with him. This was perfect! The tour took us to such beautiful areas of St Pete! The tour guide, Louisa, was patient as she taught us how to safely ride on the Segway. She was knowledgeable as she shared St Pete’s history in a fun and interesting way. My grandson loved it and so did I! Highly recommended!!!

Louisa was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and social. It was great. It was our first time on segues. She was wonderful with us. We made several stops which was very nice. It was just enough time. I would definitely recommend her and to do the Segway again.

Great experience. First time on a Segway for me and my fiancé. I was concerned for her because she can’t ride a bike. But she adapted very well. Tour guide very nice and informative.

The guided tour through Sunken Gardens was very good. Our guide, Doo, was very knowledgeable of the plants and birds. We also had an opportunity to see some dolphins and manitees from our Segways.

My family and I enjoyed this tour very much. The tour guide gave excellent instruction with time to get the feel of riding the Segway before starting the tour. After the tour started, Louisa was informative on the different places we saw. There were several small breaks for pictures and questions. I would highly recommend this tour.

This is a must if you like to ride segways (or want to try something new). Doo was so great in showing us how to ride the segway and took us around St Pete to see the highlights of it’s past and future. So great !

We did Segway tours a couple times before in different cities and this time was truly unique; the city itself is amazing but the girl in charge of the tour (sorry can’t remember her name) she was absolutely perfect, she made us feel super comfortable and safe, she is so knowledgeable and kind. We recommend this tour 150% !

EXCELLENT - we were fortunate to have a private tour for our group of 5 people. The tour was excellent and fun, but the stop at Sunken Gardens was the highlight. Our Segway guide was just awesome and knew so much about the marine and plant life in the area. Great for our teen nieces as well as the adults. I would do the exact same tour again the next time family visits!!

The best part of the tour was seeing the mannatees. The tour guide is very accommodating and helpful. I am not the most coordinated guy, but learning the Segway was easy. St. Petersburg is beautiful. After tasting the fountain of youth, I feel twenty years younger! People usually think I am younger than I am anyway. I discovered that you had to keep up with the tour guide because the ear piece becomes inaudible over a distance my age does show

This was an excellent tour. Doo's was great and this is a worthwhile St Pete tour. Spent sufficient time on learning the Segway and she provided water. Rest stops were right on time and seeing the dolphins was additional benefit.

This was so much fun. We were late getting there and Doos stayed and waited for us, so nice of her, after a brief lesson we were on our way. Very informative and a great view of the beach area, I will definitely do this again.

Doo was extreemly knowledgeable about the history of the area. Made it interesting and fun to hear the history. She paced the tour just right - with enough breaks to rest legs and have some water. She could talk on other topics other than just the historic tour. Highly recommend her to anyone wanting to experience a ride on a Segway and to learn about Historic St Pete's. A must if you have kids!!!

Doo did a great job explaining what we were seeing and some of the history of St. Petersburg. The equipment was in great shape and even included headphones so that we didn't have to stop to get the stories.
