Itinerary

Board your tour vehicle upon pickup from your accommodation in Sedona and begin with a scenic drive up Oak Creek Canyon via a National Scenic Byway. The road winds through pine forests en route to Flagstaff, with the option of hotel pickup there.

Marvel at the San Francisco Peaks, Arizona’s highest mountains, en route to the Navajo Nation. The route continues along the Echo Cliffs to the town of Page and Lake Powell where a tunnel takes you through the walls of Glen Canyon to the base of Glen Canyon Dam.

After a safety briefing with your river guide, settle into an inflatable river raft and gaze at the cliff walls towering more than 1,000 feet (305 meters) above. Explore ancient petroglyphs, stop for a riverside lunch, and let the raft meander around Horseshoe Bend on its course to Lee’s Ferry. You have time for photos at this historical site, used by early pioneer settlers who inhabited the nearby cabins.

See impressive views on a drive through the Navajo Nation en route to the Cameron Trading Post, known for its outstanding selection of American Indian arts and crafts. The cliffs of the Painted Desert provide a picturesque backdrop for this scenic stop before drop-off at your hotel in Flagstaff or Sedona.

We were picked up at 5am for the ride to Page AZ. Our driver / guide was great and filled with knowlesge. He kept us entertained on the drive. Once we arrived, we go through security then to the raft. It was crowded but still enjoyed. About half way, the sick the raft and allowed to go see the writing on the rocks and/or take a dip in the 51 degree water. The water was COLD but it did feel refreshing. The view is beautiful! Well worth the cost! Enjoy.

Colorado River Float Trip

Raymond R, Nov 2019
Beautiful scenery, smooth float ride, knowledgeable guide, very relaxing. You will be completely exposed to the weather so if it is very hot you should consider light clothing that will cover your arms, legs, her, and neck. the only unpleasant aspect of our trip was the heat and not having dressed with all light clothing and having coverage for neck and face. Sunscreen is highly recommended.

Great way to spend the 4th of July!!!

Donna_C, Jul 2018
Channing was our guide and he was awesome!...He really knew the river and shared some personal stories about the time he has spent on the river and hiking around it. It was very hot in July, so come prepared, i.e. lots of high SPF sunscreen and a good hat to protect you from the sun, and a swim suit if you want to jump into the water when the boat docks for lunch. We also used a towel dipped in the water (which was numbing cold, but refreshing on a hot July day) to cover our shoulders/head to cool off. It was a great day on the Colorado river!!!

It is extremely hot in the bottom of the canyon so the two opportunities for dips in the Colorado were brilliant.

The ride from the hotel in Flagstaff to Page where the float began was amazing. The tour guide, Sheldon, was very informative, professional and fun. The scenery was beautiful. The float trip is a gentle ride down the Colorado River. Also amazing. The guide for the float trip was also very informative, professional and fun. I highly recommend this trip.
