Board your tour vehicle upon pickup from your accommodation in Sedona or the Village of Oak Creek. Your day trip to Grand Canyon National Park begins with a scenic drive up Oak Creek Canyon via a National Scenic Byway. The road winds through pine forests en route to Flagstaff, with the option of hotel pickup there.
Entering the park on the western side of the South Rim, you're treated to sweeping views of the Grand Canyon, Bright Angel fault line, and the Colorado River at Yavapai Point. After a lingering glimpse and plenty of photo ops from the park's widest overlook.
Head to Grand Canyon Village, the Historic District at the South Rim, where you have time to purchase lunch and explore the area including the historic El Tovar Hotel, the Pueblo replica of Hopi House, art exhibits at Kolb Studio, and more. Take a walk along the canyon rim and search for giant California condors that call this area home.
Your tour vehicle continues eastward along the South Rim, to take in the vastness of the canyon. Find dramatic views from a variety of perspectives both inside and outside the Desert View Watchtower, designed by architect Mary Colter.
Departing the national park alongside the Little Colorado River Gorge, see more impressive views on a drive through the Navajo Nation en route to the historic Cameron Trading Post, known for its outstanding selection of American Indian arts and crafts. The cliffs of the Painted Desert provide a picturesque backdrop for this scenic stop before drop-off at your hotel in Village of Oak Creek or Sedona.

The experience was fantastic from the initial booking to the final drop off back to the hotel. Charlie T, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the vegetation and history of the area. He was well organized and looked out for every passenger. I was called several times before the trip to remind me to wear layers and re-confirm the pick-up hotel. The many stops for viewing the Canal and local high points were exceptional. I highly recommend this company and its personnel and especially the guide, Charlie, for a memorable experience.

The views were incredible! Our guide, Al, was full of fun facts and stories on the drive up. He also was great about taking photos for us so that we had fantastic backdrops. We did wish we had a bit longer at some of the stops, but there were many beautiful and historic places to stop.

I have nothing but spectacular things to say about my Grand Canyon Tour experience with Great Ventures Day Tours. My friend and I went during Easter weekend after being unsuccessful with booking to see Antelope Canyons. Communication from the company was great from the start of booking to the very end. We were paired with our tour guide, Sheldon and I have nothing but phenominal things to say about him. He is truly amazing and was so knowledgeable with EVERYTHING from Sedona to Grand Canyon and everything in between. We were picked up from our hotel in Sedona around 7am and were finished around 6/6:30pm. Our sprinter van was clean, spacious, AC was comfortable and there was enough water to go around. There was a total of 10 of us in the group (including my friend and I). Sheldon was very accommodating with frequent check-ins, asking everyone where they wanted to stop along the way, best places to explore, and how long. It was so helpful. Sheldon knew all the best spots for pictures in the Canyon and it made the whole experience 1000x better! Our group had ample time for lunch and never felt rushed. Even though it was a long day, every penny was worth it for this experience. I can't thank Sheldon enough for how amazing he was throughout this tour. (even if you don't get Sheldon, i'm sure everyone there is fantastic). Would book again next time i'm visiting AZ!

I booked a the Grand Canyon tour through Viator for my family of 14 and had a wonderful experience. The booking process was very easy, and we received clear instructions right away which made everything stress-free.
The tour itself was beautifully organized.
The drive was long, but absolutely worth it. The views were breathtaking.
Our guide, Sheldon, was truly amazing and made the entire experience unforgettable. He went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the trip. Sheldon was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts and stories throughout the journey that made the long drive feel shorter and more engaging. His friendly personality , sense of humor , and genuine care for the group really stood out. He took the time to make sure everyone had a great photo opportunities and never made us feel rushed. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and it made a big difference in out experience.
Everything ran smoothly and on time, we really appreciated how well the day was planned. It was a great way to experience such an iconic place without worrying about any of the details.
I would definitely recommend booking through Viator and would happily do another tour with them in the future.

The company was very professional and made sure to confirm our trip prior to. Cat was an amazing guide and gave us some special memories- listening to “Route 66” as we cruised the legendary route, historical and scientific commentary on the Grand Canyon and amazing stops to see the gorgeous views of the South Rim. In addition to an outstanding guide, we had a pretty awesome van full of people! Highly recommend Cat- she went above and beyond to make our trip special and memorable! But don’t ever pass her on the highway….

Layer your clothes if going in March or April. It gets warmer throughout the day. Watch young children some viewing stops don’t have guardrails. Learned so much about the geology of the surrounding areas and how the canyon was formed.

We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide, Cat. She gave us education on the sites, history, and geology on our way from Sedona to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and back. We had a small group and she was very flexible in accommodating the needs and preferences of the participants. She made us feel welcome and made our first trip to the South Rim very memorable. From the moment we stepped on the bus, Stevie B was a most exceptional guide to a place like no other. Steve made the drive up interesting with his expert knowledge.
And the Canyon itself is hard to imagine. Each stop brought more and more of the canyon into focus. As a private tour, Steve was very accommodating in tailoring our experience to our exact desires, I cannot recommend this enough!
