Departure Point: Verde Canyon Railroad Train Depot in Clarkdale, Arizona Address: 300 North Broadway Clarkdale, Arizona 86324 Directions: From Phoenix: Allow 2 hours for the drive • Take I-17 north to exit 287 (Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Clarkdale). Turn left (west) over the freeway on Hwy 260. • Stay on Hwy 260 for approximately 14 miles to the fifth traffic light. Turn left at light. This is Main Street (historic 89A). • Drive through Old Town Cottonwood, past the turnoff for Tuzigoot National Monument until you see a sign on the corner that says “Verde Canyon Railroad.” • Bear right onto Broadway, cross the one-lane bridge and park in the designated parking across the street from the depot. From Sedona: Allow 40 minutes for the drive. • Go southwest toward Cottonwood on Hwy 89A to Cornville Road/Mingus Avenue. • Turn right on Mingus Avenue and proceed west 1.8 miles to North Main Street (Historic 89A). • Turn right and continue on Main Street through Old Town Cottonwood, past the turnoff for Tuzigoot National Monument until you see a sign on the corner that says “Verde Canyon Railroad.” • Bear right onto Broadway, cross the one-lane bridge and park in the designated parking across the street from the depot.

As you travel back in time on this century-old route, admire the views from the open-air platform of your train. Take the opportunity to spot ancient cliff dwellings, old mining sites, and various wildlife, including bald eagles and antelope, throughout the journey.
View the river that can only be accessed by rail, then gather around to enjoy a Champagne toast and delicious appetizers. Continue on, watching red rock formations and landmarks such as trestles, bridges, and tunnels as you go by.
Finally, visit the John Bell Museum before heading back.

This was such a fun and amazing experience. And to top it all off, Char and Tim were excellent! They made this train ride so much fun and they both were very knowledgeable. Definitely a train ride I would recommend!

It was very relaxing experience, our guide josh had alot of expertise on the desert. It was a bit hot but you can stay in air conditioning cabin. Loved the experience would definitely do it again.

The ability to go outside to get a closer view and then come back to the air conditioning was wonderful. Our bar tender/tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. The scenery is amazing and the history is very interesting.

We were treated exceptionally well, with a delicious and generous meal beforehand and hors 'd oeuvres while onboard. Pleasant and scenic trip with friendly, knowledgeable staff. We plan to repeat the trip sometime in the winter months so that we can spend more time in the open (outdoor) railroad cars when it is not as warm. Also enjoyed visiting with other passengers.

This is a very scenic ride. The feeling you get is a step back in time. Waiting at our seats on the table was a charcuterie tray and a bottle of champaigne for the the toast. It was like sitting in a living room and it felt first class. Our tour host, Romm, was great.

Our train ride was an unforgettable experience. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning mountain views, lush landscapes, and beautiful scenery around every turn. It was peaceful, relaxing, and the perfect way to take in the natural beauty without having to worry about driving.
The ride was smooth, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and everything was clean and comfortable. Every mile brought a new view that was worth admiring. If you’re looking for a relaxing adventure with incredible scenery, I highly recommend this train ride. It’s an experience I’ll always remember and can’t wait to do again!

Remarkable experience! We had a fabulous time! The staff were very friendly, and this company is very organized. You will love this experience. The cabin where you sit is very comfortable with soft couches and chairs. Also,’ cabin is kept very cool with A/C to help circumvent the heat outside. Great time!

The meal at the station was probably one of the nastiest things I've ever been given to eat. No flavor, over cooked chicken that was somehow still dripping with outter liquid from the pan it was pulled from after being precooked in mass. However, once in the train, the charcuterie board was quite impressive, the information on the history throughout the ride was awesome, and the observation carts were plentiful so you didn't feel crowded or as if you couldn't go out there for sight seeing. Our bartender (serving non and alcoholic beverages) was personable, welcoming and attentive. His name was Shine and he truly made the ride worth it. I would go again, as well, my children (age 17, 11 and 9) had a blast and are still talking about the sights and reciting the historical data that was taught on that train. Would recommend!

Spectacular Views & Special Touches
The canyon scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. Cruising through the red rocks offered constant photo-worthy moments. Getting to start the journey with a champagne toast and enjoying a delicious charcuterie board was a fantastic bonus that set a wonderful, relaxing tone for the trip.
Great Food at the Depot
The food far exceeded our expectations. Our party split between a few different menu items:
The Hamburgers: Fresh, flavorful, and a huge hit.
The Salads: Crisp, fresh, and exceptionally good.
Chicken Salad wrap: generous and tasty.

What truly elevated the entire trip was the phenomenal staff. They were welcoming, informative, friendly, and overall top-notch:

It was canceled a couple hours before. Was going to received refund but made a complete trip around this and prepaid almost 400 dollars to this and now it was cancelled needed to do other things which is hard because my 400 dollars was still pending refund. Need to find a way to facilitate a quicker refund in cases like this.

The meal before the ride was generous, I had the salad my husband had the chicken wrap. On the train we enjoyed the charcuterie and champagne. The staff was personable, fun and informative. The seating on the train was very comfortable and views are spectacular.

This was a great train trip. The food options before we started on the train, the Great Red Canyon views and our Guide Christien from Cottonwood did an excellent job of narrations of what we were seeing and the train history. Bring a jacket train gets a little chilly. Over all a great train adventure.

At first glance the train looks like a typical Amtrak train. But once you step inside, everything changes. The interior of the train has been transformed into an elegant and beautiful design that will make the ride amazingly memorable. The service is spectacular and the crew friendly and knowledgeable. The price is very reasonable for all that you’re given. I will be coming back!

Amazing day! Not only because of the unique scenery & beautiful vistas, but also because of the knowledgeable guides/attendants on board who taught us all about the area & made it all very entertaining!

It was all very well organized, and comfortable.The food at the station was great, as was what was provided on board.

We had a great time on the Verde Canyon Railroad! It was such a relaxing ride, and my mom loved it so much. The views were absolutely beautiful, especially the amazing red rocks. It was a wonderful experience that we will always remember. Highly recommended! We were at cotton car , and Mia was very nice in helping me with my mom in wheelchair!!
