Departure Point: Verde Canyon Railroad Train Depot in Clarkdale, Arizona Address: 300 North Broadway Clarkdale, Arizona 86324 Directions: From Phoenix: Allow 2 hours for the drive • Take I-17 north to exit 287 (Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Clarkdale). Turn left (west) over the freeway on Hwy 260. • Stay on Hwy 260 for approximately 14 miles to the fifth traffic light. Turn left at light. This is Main Street (historic 89A). • Drive through Old Town Cottonwood, past the turnoff for Tuzigoot National Monument until you see a sign on the corner that says “Verde Canyon Railroad.” • Bear right onto Broadway, cross the one-lane bridge and park in the designated parking across the street from the depot. From Sedona: Allow 40 minutes for the drive. • Go southwest toward Cottonwood on Hwy 89A to Cornville Road/Mingus Avenue. • Turn right on Mingus Avenue and proceed west 1.8 miles to North Main Street (Historic 89A). • Turn right and continue on Main Street through Old Town Cottonwood, past the turnoff for Tuzigoot National Monument until you see a sign on the corner that says “Verde Canyon Railroad.” • Bear right onto Broadway, cross the one-lane bridge and park in the designated parking across the street from the depot.

Finally, visit the John Bell Museum before heading back.

Michael was an extremely fun and smart guide. we rode in the scottsdale train car. lots of beautiful views no matter what side you sat on. the provided food was great and the drinks were fairly priced. would definitely do this again

The tour guide was very informative.
Our car attendant was full of energy and fun. It was a beautiful ride through the valley.
Charcuterie board and champagne toast was a nice addition.
Fun was had by all.
Sit by the window with the table for 2. Much, much better view.
Unfortunately it rained the whole trip so I couldn't make use of the outdoor car.

Highly recommend this trip to see the Verde Canyon from the valley floor
This wss s great way to spend a rainy day. When we arrived to the train station we were given a meal voucher. We had forgotten about that and had q late breakfast. We both got the wings and fries as we could heat those up later. When we got to our seats in the Scottsdale coach we found charcuterie plates as well. If someone left there hungry it was their own fault! Drinks, water and champagne were also provided. We toasted car prior to us leaving the station. We had a small table and 2 chairs, which were very comfortable. Across from us were small couches that also looked comfortable. The car was clean, as was the bathroom. Romn was our attendant and bartender. He did a great job answering our questions, suggesting picture shots, and mingling with all the people in the car. A very personable individual. The outdoor car has seats and a cover for inclement weather. This might be pricey, but well worth the experience. We would most definitely go on this again!
You better put this on the bucket list. You got to do this!! The staff was will mannered, very informative knew the history of the area very well. You could tell they loved their work.

We really enjoyed our trip on the Verde Canyon Railroad! We booked the train trip and lunch at the depot. We had a nice lunch and then walked through the gift shop. After lunch we boarded the train. Our trip started off with a champagne toast. The train car was very comfortable and it was fun to go outside and enjoy the open air car as well. The scenery was beautiful and our tour guides Anthony and Byron were awesome! They were very knowledgeable and they both had a great sense of humor. They told us about all the sights we saw and some history of the area. On the way back to the train station we enjoyed our complimentary charcuterie trays and a cup of coffee. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon!

Really nice ride through a beautiful canyon. Staff was friendly, polite and efficient! Loved the commentary, charcuterie box and champagne toast!!! Lunch was good and gift shop well stocked.
The train ride through the Verde canyon made up for not being able to go down into the Grand Canyon. We REALLY enjoyed it. It was VERY scenic and reminiscent of the old western movies. The included meals were an added bonus. Highly recommended.
Tickets included not only a hot lunch to pick up and eat ahead or take on board, a little bottle of champagne and a charcuterie selection to nibble on along the way, and plenty of other drink (not free) options while enjoying the scenery and the historical information about the train. A really enjoyable 3-4 hour afternoon.

From the visit to the lovely gift shop to the ride on the vintage train, this experience was awesome. The train ride was comfortable, the views were beautiful and the bartender was fantastic. We arrived to our seats, very padded chairs and a table, a large individual charcuterie along with a small bottle of champagne awaited us. We don’t like champagne but the bartender was kind enough to give us a small bottle of orange juice, so it was mimosas for us. We had been given vouchers for food which we used to get some chicken nuggets with chips and salad. We couldn’t eat the food after finishing the charcuterie. It was too much. The train rode fairly slowly which made it easy to get up and walk around. We went back and forth between our seats and the outdoor viewing car which was great. There was a gentleman on the outdoor car that explained all points of interest. It was simply beautiful and so relaxing.

Very scenic ride with assigned comfortable seating. Ticket included lunch voucher prior to train ride, charcuterie plate with cheese, grapes, crackers, cold meats, and a brownie. Also included was a small bottle of champagne for a pre-departure toast. Recommend the prickly pear lemonade with optional alcohol as a way to keep cool during the train ride.
Train car was extremely comfortable! THe views were lovely. The snack box was tasty- minus a few moldy grapes. Feels like it was geared more towards couples- kiddos could get bored. Overall, we would 100% do this aging.
Arrive early to have lunch before train leaves; nice snack tray on train after you board; service on the train was very good -- good drink selection. Wonderful scenery. Train goes out 2 hours then back two hours -- got a little long -- for a "senior citizen" like me, took a "nap" near the end!! Really glad we did the trip but likely won't do it again.
It was a beautiful scenic ride. The tour guide/bartender was very attentive and so knowledgeable. Also had good choices for lunch and delicious snack foods. A wonderful way to spend the day.

It was so much fun! Trinity did a wonderful job! She was so friendly and knowledgeable. Bar service was terrific. The gentleman that did some of the tour was also terrific! It was beautiful and informative. Great stories! We loved it! And we would do this again.
