Itinerary

This tour starts with an early morning pickup from your Flagstaff or Sedona hotel.

Wupatki National Monument is your first stop. The ancient Native American civilization of Sinagua lived here for 400 years. They witnessed the dramatic eruption of Sunset Crater Volcano nearly a millennium ago, which destroyed their homes and forced them out. Your tour includes a visit to the lava fields at Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument.

Stop for lunch (own expense) at the historic Cameron Trading Post. The view of the Little Colorado River Gorge here is especially striking.

After lunch, head into the Grand Canyon. Stop at lookout points along the canyon's East Rim and South Rim for dramatic vistas of gorges below. There's time to explore on your own.

Throughout the entire day your guide teaches you about the history, archaeology, geology, and flora and fauna of the Grand Canyon and the surrounding area.

Absolutely amazing tour! Cannot express enough how this could be one of the Best days I’ve had! Rasa, the tour guide made this day so special. He was very knowledgeable about the entire area, history lessons, very professional, made sure to stop for us to take pictures of unique sights and just great to be around. The best tour guide we have ever had!, and should be considered a. National treasure to this area, I would book a tour with him and his company every time. The tour itself was beautiful, lots to see and learn. Bring snacks, water (the guide brings some as well) and dress accordingly. Significant temperature changes throughout the tour. The van is very comfortable, plenty of room and also had phone chargers since your battery will get low quickly due to constant searching for cell towers. You have limited time at each stop so please stay with group and stay on time! The company was very easy to work with. Viator has amazing communication processes and extremely easy to use. If your in this area please book this tour!!

Interesting and entertaining

Jann_C, Mar 2026
Our tour guide, Raza was very interesting and entertaining and knew exactly what the group needed. Would have helped others on the tour to know they had to walk a little. Not sure if it was in the description or not.

I hope this is a new core memory!

From the convenient and timely pickup near where I was staying, to the drop off at sunset the entire experience is a TEN! Out of five. Rasa’s stories entertained us the entire trip. He always maintained the order of the bus ensuring guests were content and having fun. The bus itself is first class! Comfy seats, plenty of good sir conditioning and windows you can see out of. The views, the itinerary and the stories all carefully curated to make a twelve hour adventure feel like an hour of fun and happiness; and a year of university. So much to see and learn along the roads that lead from grassy plains to moon crater like lava flows. The canyon itself will take days to process. There is so much beauty there! The road back with snow capped mountains looming reminds you of your altitude and what you’ve just experienced. Wow!🤩. The trip is well worth the charge!!! Do it!

Breathtaking! Amazing trip

For those who experience motion sickness: my tour guide was Burt and this tour couldn’t have been any better. I was so nervous about it and was wondering if I should cancel due to the long van ride there and back. I sent a message saying I wanted to go but I had motion sickness. Burt picked me up and saved the front row for me and even removed the front passenger headrest so I could see straight ahead. He checked on me often, and said he had medicine in case I needed it (I had already taken some before). He was so knowledgeable about everything we saw, and was fun and energetic the whole time. Definitely don’t let motion sickness prevent you from going on these tours, they are very accommodating and it made me truly enjoy the whole trip. 10/10 would recommend. Request Burt if you can, he has motion sickness too so he understands.

Great time!!

DELIA_S, Mar 2026

Great guide

Marie_J, Mar 2026
We loved the guide. Was so knowledgeable and a great driver. She took us to places that were off the beaten path and not so many people.

Best tour ever!

William_H, Mar 2026
This was a great tour all around. Our tour guide Brad was very personable and so knowledgeable. And the stops along the way near Flagstaff were a great lead up to the Grand Canyon. At the Canyon, we first stopped at an overlook that no one else was at and got out of the van for views and pictures. This tour is highly recommended.

Fabulous tour and Guide

Great Tour from Sedona to Grand Canyon and more

Liz_C, Mar 2026
We had Brad as our guide and driver and he was so full of knowledge and enthusiasm about Arizona, geology and history of the Area. Highly recommend this tour. We visited several places on the way to the Grand Canyon. We stopped as several places to look at the Grand canyon but did not stop for long. It was a great tour to explore where we would come back to visit for longer.

Great Tour!

Jean_C, Mar 2026
I highly recommend this tour. There were so many options for Grand Canyon tours but this one was awesome. We made several stops, saw amazing sights and had the best views. Our tour guide, Sheldon, was the best! He provided wonderful insights throughout the day, was flexible and clearly knew the best places to stop and those to avoid (due to crowds).

Greatest Grand Canyon Tour with Burt

Eva_S, Feb 2026
Our guide Burt went above and beyond. He was funny, knowledgeable, entertaining all the while being respectful. Our stops were phenomenal! We stopped at a great little coffee shop for a quick break, Wupatki National Monument (old native ruins you could walk through and explore) and a great restaurant with gift shop all before reaching the Grand Canyon. Once ar the Canyon we stopped at 3 different area to take in the beauty. Burts knew the best places to take pics. The drive was safe and professional. Cold water provided ans the car clean and comfortable. Plenty of time to enjoy the day with stops in-between to break up the ride. Burt knew alot of the history of th area and was very informative. Loved it!!! Would absolutely recommend!!!

It's fun. Nice and relaxing since you don't have to drive or be concerned about getting lost on roads you're not familiar with.

Incredible day, amazing host/driver, awesome sights and information

Wade_P, Feb 2026
What an experience! Our small group tour from Sedona to the Grand Canyon and back could not have been more fulfilling. The day flew by despite our initial concerns that it might be long and/or become tedious. Our amazing host/driver, Rasa, was highly knowledgeable, passionate, kind and funny! From the moment he arrived on time at our hotel to pick us up, until he dropped us back there at the end of the trip day, Rasa demonstrated his energetic love for the land and people of the area. We particularly appreciated the respectful comments and information he shared about the lives and times of the indigenous peoples of the area—both current and past. He also shared detail about the flora and fauna of the area and was an eagle-eyed wildlife spotter. Plenty of timely stops for a stretch and/or bathroom break; Rasa was there as we debarked each time to offer a friendly hand as we stepped out of the van. A day full of incredible sights was punctuated by our host’s ongoing and knowledgeable commentary and good humor, always in good taste. Five out of five stars. Highly recommend!

Shelia_B, Feb 2026
A group of five friends had the pleasure of taking a wonderful day trip to Grand Canyon. The ride was comfortable and the stops for breaks were well timed and we enjoyed our lunch. Best of all was our guide Burton Stone. He has a wealth of knowledge about the area and was very attentive to our needs. It was a pleasure to be around someone upbeat and positive. Highly recommend this trip and hopefully you will have Burton as your guide

Viator is #1

Stacy_S, Feb 2026
Charlie was very knowledgeable regarding the Grand Canyon. I was traveling solo and was grateful that Charlie the other guests were friendly and welcoming. The Grand Canyon is so beautiful and picturesque. The drive to and from the Canyon was scenic as well. Charlie stopped whenever we asked to use restroom, grab snacks, or visit Starbucks! He also served as the unofficial photographer for us. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! If you’re on the fence on which company to use, always choose Viator!
