When it’s time to take advantage of your boat rental, head down to Emerson Street in San Diego to check in. You may want to come about twenty minutes before your time to make sure you find parking as the area is a tourist area and can be quite busy.
After you check in to get your pedal boat or glow boat, get ready for a fun adventure on the water. Each boat can hold up to three adults and one small child or two adults and two kids, making it a great pick for families or couples. Because this is a rental, how you spend your self-guided time on the water is up to you. The rental crew explains how to use the boat and gives some safety tips before you go.
On the water, take in sights of San Diego from a different perspective than on land. If you booked the glow boat, it’s illuminated 360 degrees inside and outside, and it features a speaker and a disco ball.
After your cruise, come back to the original meeting spot.

Was super fun! Super pretty view of the city and a good way to spend some quality time with a significant other, friends, and or family. Also had a speaker you could connect to so you can listen to tunes. Be prepared for a leg workout lol but super worth it in the end.

Had a great time, the crew was very welcoming and helpful. I would have upgraded to the electric boat if I knew that was an option as I’m pregnant but it was doable as I am 6 months! Highly recommend!

The pedal boat attendants are super friendly and create a welcoming environment for first timers. They guide you to another dock with beautiful skyline views of Downtown San Diego where you spend most of your time pedaling. You provide your own vibes by connecting your phone to play music on a bluetooth speaker.
To add, my pregnant friend had to use the bathroom during the time at the dock and Brandon and the team was so kind to guide her to the nearest bathroom. Thank you everyone! 10/10 highly recommend!

Do not do this activity if your partner or child is pregnant. My own fault for not thinking it through. But it is a workout to say the least. And we got tired and could not do the activity. I would love to try it again but I would definitely rent the electric boat instead, unless you are up for a physical challenge. The night scenery of the city’s harbor was amazing! And the staff was super friendly, fun and knowledgeable.

Went last night for a date night with my lady. The people helping us were amazing super mellow and made it an enjoyable experience. The ride itself was awesome too nice quality time with my partner with a beautiful view of the city. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice date idea

Cool float out on the San Diego harbor. Different viewpoint of SD and that was very neat to see. Guide/host was super friendly and upbeat. The ambiance of the night time, calm waters and distant fog covering the downtown skyline was a nice feature since its been raining. Even if you been living in SD for a few years and haven't seen the city from the water's POV I'd recommend!

We had such a fabulous time and I would recommend this to anyone visiting the San Diego area. The guys that helped us out were beyond fun and friendly :-) The boats were awesome and looked so cool! The guys gave easy to follow directions on how to steer and paddle. The view of the city lights was amazing and being able to listen to music was just the cherry on top. Thanks again Simon and Ruth LMAO! I’d absolutely do this again!!

I rented a pedal boat this weekend with my daughter, and one of the pedals broke during our ride. We had to switch seats just to make it work, which really took away from the experience. What was disappointing is that we still had to pay the full amount even though the boat wasn’t working properly. It would be nice if equipment was checked more carefully or if customers were offered a partial refund when something like this happens

Hello George, this is Kate from Eco Boat Rentals. Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m very sorry for the inconvenience during your ride. Our team reported this issue to our office right after your trip, and after checking the boat, we found a large fishing line wrapped around the propeller that caused the pedal problem.
Our equipment is checked daily and maintained on a regular basis to keep it in top condition, but sometimes unexpected on-site events, like debris in the bay, can cause temporary issues.
Due to a recent health situation, our office replies were slower than usual, but today we reached out to you through Viator and by text message with resolution options.
In cases where our equipment doesn’t perform correctly, we always offer customers either a 50% refund or a gift certificate so they or their family can come another day.
