The tour was so amazing. This was our first time in Rome, Italy and we were immersed into all of the beauty of Roma that will have an everlasting memory. The tour guide was awesome and was gifted in enriching the group into learning a vast amount of historical information. Mostly as expected - a bit rushed

This tour helped us get in and going without extra waiting in lines, even though there are still a good amount of lining up and waiting for the security. We liked that the location to meet with just a block or 2 away from the entrance to the museum. The tour office doesn't have a toilet, so they suggested a shop around the corner. The guide that walked us to the museum handed us off to another once there. Both could have been better at checking on those who were at the end of the line to make sure they were staying with the group. There were a lot of stairs both to get from the travel office to the entrance as well as in the museum. Most were short enough, though a few (even down) were enough and at difficult angles, they took some of our group longer to navigate. We wish we'd been given more time in the museum. We had been told ahead of time the Basilica wasn't included as it's usually closed on Wednesdays, or would be by the time we'd be ending the museum/chapel tour, but they rushed us through instead to get to it. I'm sure that was appreciated by some, but wish we'd had more time and/or been given the choice to stay behind and finish on our own, but we were basically in the Sistine Chapel by the time this was mentioned.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience! If I could leave no stars I would. The tour guide was incredibly inconsiderate and it felt more like an art class instead of a tour of the Vatican. You could barely hear him even with the audio equipment. He would walk and talk, unless you were next to him you didn’t hear anything.

We booked a 4pm tour with Crown Tours for The Vatican Museums and The Sistine Chapel. We skipped the line and went straight through with no problems. From start to finish it was fantastic and would definitely use them again. I would highly recommend them. Brilliant communication from the company and we met the tour at their offices beforehand, which was easy to find. We had an English speaking guide who spoke with enthusiasm and knowledge using headphones which was really helpful. A great tour! It was quite busy and the Sistine Chapel was packed as you can imagine but nonetheless still enjoyable.

Shameful experience

Experience was less than satisfactory Tour time was changed from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm with a promise to include St. Peter’s Basilica. We were advised to come at 11:30 am which we did. We were then told that St. Peter’s would be after the Museum& Chapel tour. We were reassured that the museum & chapel tour will finish by 3:30 pm. We did not get to the museum till 2:15 pm. We had arranged for a ride to and from our ship and paid for the tour to enjoy a visit to the Sistine chapel. We never got to the Chapel, the main reason for our trip. Viator representatives rejected my request for a refund and did not even respond to me. Shameful indeed.

This was the worst tour we have ever been on. The guide moved too fast, lost hime a couple of times. we stopped for 45 minutes while he talked in front of a picture. only had about 15 minutes in the actual museum and 10 minutes in the sistine chapel. Next time we will do a self tour with headphones for $5

Horrific Tour Guide

I guess the tour could have been a great experience but our tour guide was horrible. Tour was 8:15 - 11:30 we were done by 9:20. She rushed through and complained about the crowd constantly. Had no energy and boring. Even the security told the tour guide she had to move as she wasn’t sure where to stop and speak. Oh boy bad experience to an experience I was hoping to so enjoy. The best time spent was on our own. Totally disappointed due to tour guide.

Nothing memorable- the crowds were so big it was very unsafe. Our guide did not use her. Mic properly - so did not hear very much The quality of the sound system was poor / other groups had their own audios and seemed to be able to hear their guides Very expensive for such poor quality The guide was ok I think but heard very little

Tour guide very knowledgeable It was a bit rushed we had to wait around 20 mins in ticket office even though it was skip the que This affected the tour because we could only spend literally 2 mins in sistine Chapel because the door to the garden entrance to St Peters closed at 5pm Recommend taking an early tour or going by yourself we didn't see everything

They never showed up!! When we called them they said that we had been notified and confirmed that the time had changed from 1:30 to 2:45. That was a lie. We never received any information at all. They tried to book us on a later one but we wouldn’t been able to get through the tour and see Saint peters basilica because it closes at 6 PM. It ruined our day and they still haven’t refunded the money. This crown tours should be held accountable and no one should ever book with them again.

We had Giovanni as our tour guide for the English speaking tour. He was quite hard to understand a lot of the time and he went through the galleries too quickly for us to properly understand the history. There were times where he would walk too far ahead, leaving a lot of the group behind and would point artworks in the gallery out, without a full explanation or the attention for the full group.

Very poor communication. Was asked to meet at bottom of steps at 1.45. We were there, bottom and top, from 1.30 till 2.20 and no one turned up. Called Crown Tours, whom Viator has subcontracted, numerous times and no answer. Finally left the area. Then at 2.50 received a call from Crown Tours asking if we are joining!!! Rushed with wife and 2 children to join!! Showed my confirmation which said 1.45 but Crown Tours said they don’t have a tour at 1.45 but only at 2.45!! Then we were handed over to a guide from Vatican Museum - Giovani Tanoni. He was in a rush and had great difficulty in keeping up!! Understand Museum is a busy area but need to keep in mind children can’t rush like adults!! Note guide is only for the beginning of the tour and then on our own to explore Museum and basilica - no jump the line.

Wir haben eine 3 Stunden Tour für Vatikanischen Museen und die Sixtinische Kapelle gebucht. Nach der Kapelle war die Tour zu Ende, die Dame meinte wir sollen alleine weiter gehen und hat die Führung beendet. Dafür ist der Preis zu hoch. Ob dies im Einvernehmen mit Vistor und Crown Tours ist?!
