Asked to arrive at a set time but didn't get into the museum for about 45mins. All seemed a bit chaotic.
Guide was OK but took ages to get going. Gave a lot more information when asked questions.
I'm not sure I'd recomend this tour.

This was a great intro tour. Mike was a good tour guide and funny. It started late which limited how much time we had in the Sistine Chapel but overall I appreciated the tour.

Was suppose to start at 5 pm. Got changed to 5:30 pm. Didn’t arrive to the museum until 6 pm. We were suppose to have 30 min in Sistine Chapel and 2 hrs in museum. We were rushed out as everything was closing. We were in taxi coming back to hotel by 8 pm. Not really what they advertised.

We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately, there are certain periods throughout the year when Rome becomes exceptionally busy. Even with our best efforts, tours can be delayed and museums can become very crowded.
For anyone planning a trip to Rome, we always recommend avoiding the last two weeks of May, the last two weeks of September, and the period around Easter, as these are peak times for visitors. On this particular day, an unexpected mass at the Basilica in the morning brought an additional 100,000 people to the area, creating even more congestion than usual.
When crowds reach this level, it can inevitably slow things down and reduce the time available at each stop. That said, outside of these peak periods, we’re generally able to follow our schedule very closely and provide the full experience we’re known for.

A great tour! The communication / instructions prior to the tour were extremely helpful and the meeting point was easy to find. We chose the 5pm time slot and highly recommend! There was barely any wait for security which meant we didn’t have to stand outside and wait in the heat. Jason was our tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. Overall a great tour!

Mike’s knowledge of the Vatican and history of Rome and the Church made this the most enjoyable tour. The perfect Vatican museum tour. Due to the later time slot the museum is way less crowded and at times it felt like we had the place to ourselves - a dream! Mike focuses on what you truly need to know and highlights all the interesting facts while keeping it entertaining. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Vatican. Mike was great - super funny, engaging and the information he gave was so good! We learnt a lot but didn’t feel overwhelmed but loads and loads of information, was super digestible. He really engaged with the group and made it a fun experience for everyone involved. If we come back to Rome, we will definitely be joining the tour again!

The tour overall was good and informative, but not worth the money we paid.
If you are looking for a fast entry don’t get your hopes up.
This tour was supposed to be fast entry of maximum 10 minutes wait, we were standing under the burning sun for 45-50 minutes. There were couple of other lines moving much faster.

We can’t believe how fortunate we were to have Jason, an art history professor, as our guide! We took the 5:00 tour and highly recommend that time of day for lighter crowds and beautiful light. The tour was fun (living up to the billing of “not boring”) and we learned a lot. Can’t recommend this tour with Jason enough. Grazie!

This was a wonderful!. We did the 5 PM tour, our guide was from Ohio and he was super friendly and made the tour very interesting. We all really enjoyed it. I highly recommend the 5 PM because it’s not as crowded!

Our tour guide was 10 minutes late. We had to finally start walking to the museums ourselves to go catch up with our guide. Our headsets did not fit comfortably at all. They kept falling off, and a lot of us had to hold them to hear. Our tour guide was very quiet, and he spoke very quickly. I could only understand about every 5th word he spoke. We also had a few tourists who signed up for our tour who only spoke Spanish, so our tour guide was put on the spot to give the tour in two different languages at the same time. With this happening, our tour went incredibly quick. It said it was a 2.5 hour tour… and we were done within 1.25 hours. I think I would not book this again and would just go do it myself. It was not hard to get into the museum and read the information ourselves. I booked many tours while traveling, and this one was our worst one.

Out of thousands of tours, there are rare occasions—perhaps one day in 10,000—when Mike is unable to personally lead the tour due to unforeseen circumstances. While most guests join us specifically because of the outstanding reviews and the expectation that Mike will be guiding, on this particular day he had an emergency and was regrettably unavailable. We sincerely apologize for that.
Had you reached out to us prior to leaving your review, we would have been more than happy to discuss the situation directly and explore options such as a partial or full refund. We are always open to resolving concerns in a fair and thoughtful manner. However, once a review is published, we are limited in how we can respond or rectify the experience.
Regarding the earpiece issue: the Vatican mandates the use of their own radio systems for all guided tours within their museums. While the equipment usually fits most guests comfortably, we understand that those with smaller ears may occasionally experience discomfort. Unfortunately, we are not permitted to use any alternative audio systems, regardless of quality, so this is beyond our control.

Terrible. Of course, Mike is friendly and funny, but he has no artistic insight of the pieces in the museums. The tour started 30 min later than scheduled because we had to wait for late people, and actually, after the 30 min delay, the first 15 min was him talking about HIMSELF and how he's the best guide tour in the world. After we enter the museum, he wasted another 20 minutes talking about the titanic or ANYTHING not related to the museums or art or the Vatican itself. I knew it was a short 2.5 hour tour but practically is only one hour worth in actual seeing the pieces as he wastes a lot of time with trivial jokes not related to religion or art, trying not to bore american tourists, hence the name 'not boring tours'. Complete waste of money, we decided to leave the group after he just kept not advancing and not explaining anything beyond 'yea this pope was cool' 'yea see this guy over there he liked drinking'.
If you are coming to the Sistine chapel just for your bucket list then hire him, but if you want to learn something about this gigantic and important museum Mike is not the guide for you.

Hilarious review DUDE 🤣 (Mike here) Not only am I NOT the guide for you, but this isn’t the company for you. There are a million competitors of ours that deliver those DRY, MONOTONE, date-drenched tours where the guide sounds like they swallowed a history textbook. We’re here to have fun, keep it lively, and actually enjoy learning something!
Had you actually listened instead of wandering off the whole time taking photos and just being generally strange, maybe you would have had a better time. CHEER up man, you only live once.
The Titanic joke takes about 20 seconds not 20 minutes so that’s straight up nonsense and it puts the size of St. Peter’s into perspective as the average person has trouble conceiving how large that dome actually is.
About the guy that likes drinking (that statue) He’s Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, pleasure, and festivities (equivalent to the Greek god Dionysus). I SAID THIS of course but you weren’t listening.
Next time you go somewhere on vacation man make sure you READ company names and reviews before you book and drop nasty reviews. Next time save up a bunch of money and hire an art historian/professor if that’s what you’re looking for.
In 20 years of doing this 95% of people enjoy the type of tour I run, and there is a percentage of people (maybe like yourself) that want a different more serious/dry boring type of product, and that’s fine, we support both ways! But you wanted ONE type of tour and you booked ANOTHER, and now you’re dropping bad reviews. I don’t go eat at Chinese restaurants and give them bad reviews because the pizza is not Italian enough.

If you are looking for a 4-5 hour boring dry Facts only kind of tour, you are in the wrong place, if your looking for fun, history, cheerfulness, jokes, and good vibes, then you are in the right spot!

My mom and I were scheduled for a morning tour of the Vatican with another company however, our taxi driver got into a car accident resulting in us missing the tour. Everything happens for a reason because we were lucky enough to find Mike and did his 5pm tour. Less crowds and more opportunity to learn and appreciate the art and history of the Vatican. The “Not Boring Tour” name speaks for itself, we were thoroughly entertained by Mike’s explanations. His story about the history of the Popes, more specifically John Paul II, had my mom tearing up by the end. You can tell he is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Rome and the Vatican. I would highly recommend taking this tour!

Our visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chappel was absolutely enlightening and entertaining. The stories our tour leader (Mike) told us were truthful but unknown to me. Moving stories about the different pope's throughout the centuries. How & why different art paintings and statues were created by their original authors, etc. I recommend Mike wholeheartedly for anyone visiting this beautiful place in Rome.
