Our Tour Leader Volo was so awesome! He was very polite and considerate and had the history of St. Peter’s Basilica, including important dates, down pat.
He graciously accepted questions and had all the answers. I highly recommend him.
Found the tour group was too large. Introductions took way too long and having to stand around with no shade made it seem longer. Took over an hour before we entered the Basilica. We left the tour within 30 minutes after we entered. We were exhausted from the heat and our guide Angela kept getting sidetracked with irrelevant things.
A little chaotic to find the check in place. Once on our way our guide, Peter (not the saint) took over and was incredible. His knowledge was remarkable and his explanations were fascinating. If you book this, hope he is working that day, you will leave better for it. Worth the cost.
Unable to find them while being there 20 minutes in advance. Total wate of money for me. I do not recommend
Peter was a really great guide; he was very knowledgeable about San Pietro and he even dug deeper into the meaning of the artwork and architecture of the basilica.
Our guide Peter was absolutely amazing the trip went by so quickly could of listened to him all day, he was so knowledgeable it was amazing.
Peter was a total pro and highly knowledgeable of the topic, and more. I highly recommend this Tour.
Angela was our guide. She is very knowledgeable and friendly to her tour people (yellow team) but wouldn’t let anyone skip the queue. I had to use a cane to get around and she made sure that I was able to keep up. (I was probably the shortest one there). Worth every penny and euro I spent.
Tour guide was very informative and very knowledgeable, we enjoyed it very much. Thanks Volvo for a great experience.
This tour was fantastic. Our guide, Peter, was extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. He was happy to answer any questions, and he had so many interesting facts to say. The tour went for a perfect amount of time, I couldn’t recommend it more. Thank you Peter!
Vito was an excellent guide. His insight into the symbolism of the Vatican added a whole new twist I was not expecting. I think because he was a school teacher helped with that. I would recommend him as a guide to anyone.
We enjoyed our tour very much. It was hot out but our guide tried his best to get us in the fastest line. We had a wonderful experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and the church was beautiful.

Sam was an awesome guide and knew his stuff. Truly professional. What was slightly disappointing was that he was disturbed midway through talking about the city by one of his colleagues who in error had taken the wrong members in her group..she spoke rudely to Sam about not answering his phone but he handled it professionally and calmly and explained he was in the middle of a tour. Sam explained the Bascillica so well that I have learnt a lot to go back and explain to my daughters. Thank you again!

Received several communications from your company confirming time and date. On the day of the excursion, we received a final confirmation and time. We arrived half an hour early and had a horrible time finding the meet up spot - it was in a small corner of a large open square. Someone from the tour company told us that the tour was rescheduled for 2:00 pm. We asked why we weren’t contacted and she said Viator did not provide information. We were extremely disappointed and did not get to see the Vatican because we left the next day.

Not really as described. We had difficulty finding the meeting place. We left slightly behind schedule and the guide told us we needed to hurry and keep up — he wasn’t going to slow his pace for anybody. It was 100 degrees. We did not visit the grottos. Guide was knowledgeable but not tuned in to his audience.

Peter was a great guide. I've visited St Peter's in the past on a tour, and this go-around gave us a ton of additional information and background material. It was well worth it.

The tour itself was incredible, Peter, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and kept our attention for the entire tour. I am disabled and can’t queue, therefore when we got to the Vatican, he showed me where I could enter and wait, where there were a couple of chairs for the rest of the group to catch me up. His English was excellent and he answered any questions asked of him. The only thing you need to know, which isn’t stated, is when you get to the square to meet your guide, you need to register, there you get a coloured sticker and are directed to your guide. You check in next to the caffe in the square. There are desks with flags up, where too need to show your voucher.

There was a lot of queueing at security. It would have been very stressful without the guide . She kept us engaged with stories of our surroundings and stopped people skipping in front of us. Some people were very disrespectful in the queue and Angela handled it brilliantly! Once inside it is an amazing experience.

Peter is super knowledgeable, ask him anything and he knows. It was an amazing church, definitely a must see for any visitor to Rome. My only complaint was our tour was cut short bc we had 2 groups of families who took Peter on a detour to get them to their next tour so Peter couldn't finish our tour bc we we were out of time. I would have preferred he send the others off on their own and finish our tour that we all paid for. It was not fair to us bc they chose to cut it short. There is so much meaning to the architecture, design, and art in the church that if you don't have a knowledgeable guide to explain things, its just not as meaningful other than awe of overwhelming visuals.

The initial part of getting into Vatican City tour was intense due to pilgrimage occurring over the weekend but our tour guide was very polite, knowledgeable, and made the tour enjoyable.

Our tour guide Nolo was very informative and friendly. He shared a lot of history and factual information and his enthusiasm was contagious. It will be quite crowded - so be patient.

Olena was excellent. The tour of the underground tombs was very crowded, so maybe not for claustrophobic individuals. I have seen Saint Peter’s several times before, and it was really neat to get a little more perspective…and to have the symbolism explained.

Prepare to queue for 2hrs or more and be bitten by flies , we made it inside the walls but gave up. Treated like cattle, way to many tickets being sold , pure greed

Tour was supposed to be 1.5 hours. We spent 1.5 hours standing in the sun just to get in the basilica. Once inside, we were told we could use the restroom, then meet our group upstairs. Our group was nowbere to be found. Myself, my son, and another tourist were unable to find them. We ended up touring the basilica on our own, then leaving. We never saw our group again. Very disappointed, would not recommend at all.
