Make your way to the Piazza della Minerva, where this tour begins, close to central attractions and public transport. Meet a local guide, and enter the Pantheon, a Roman temple that is among the best preserved of the city’s ancient Roman buildings. Find out how the Pantheon was dedicated to the worship of every god, and what’s known of the Pantheon’s history.
Step beneath the graceful dome, still the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world, and look up through the open-air oculus. See the tombs of the painter Raphael, King Victor Emmanuel II, and Queen Margherita, and hear stories about the Pantheon in ancient life.
Continue to the Basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva, a Gothic church built on the site of three pagan temples. Inside the church, you’ll find a statue by Michelangelo and sumptuous artwork: see a pair of 15th-century frescoes, an altarpiece attributed to Fra Angelico, and an altar that covers the headless body of St. Catherine of Siena.

Very interesting tour with very good quide. Good knowledge and lot of new facts. It's enough long to get a good overview.

Tomasso was an absolutely incredible guide! His knowledge and passion was amazing, and he was ready with answers to all of our questions. He took time to ask about our interests at the beginning of the tour, and especially our two teenage boys. He used that information to keep everyone fully engaged for the duration. If I had known in advance how great this tour would be, I would have been sure to book Tomasso for all of my Roman tours. He was clearly the best guide of our trip.

Mattei was a great tour guide, bringing alive history & beauty. We saw the Pantheon and due to construction on Santa Maria Minerva, he took us through St Ignatia instead, which was a most wonderful experience.

This was an absolutely amazing tour!! Mateo was a very fun and knowledgeable guide!! His passion for the history of the sites was evident and it made the experience even more interesting. Definitely do this tour!
Charles_K, May 2022
Excellent tour and guide! He helped us to meet one of our party that was late! Very knowledgeable and considerate!

It was an informative and very interesting tour. We thought we knew a great deal about Rome and its history, but our guide expanded our knowledge of Rome.

We were lucky enough to have the same guide as a few nights before at a Rome Street Food tour. Did this tour early in the morning and despite this being a shorter tour, we were provided with lots of historical info and the Pantheon is amazing. The church listed in the tour info was under renovation, so our guide took us to a different church that was beautiful and did not disappoint.

Great tour of the pantheon - must do it - so much better than just walking through! Loved the tour! Also went on tour of nearby church which was beautiful!
Sophia_G, Sep 2021
Minerva was closed so our guide took us to another church which was one of our favorite places that we visited. It was so unique and cool.

Our guide, Giovanna, was so nice and patient with our toddler! He was pitching a fit and she was so patient and tried to help us with him. She had great English and knew a ton of information. The Santa Maria was closed due to covid and she took us another beautiful church nearby (St Ignacio I think). Great experience!

The tour guide was one of the best ones we have ever had. He was so respectful and made sure we had finished taking our photos before he moved on to the next thing. Generally just a really nice, good guy. The tour itself was great and he provided lots of information along the way. I think the tour guide's name was Mateo? (it's been a few days since and lots of things have happened since). The tour is very reasonably priced and we would have even paid more because the guide was so good. A definite recommend.

Virginia our guide was excellent, she was very knowledgeable easily the best guide we had this trip.
Johanne R, Jun 2019
Knowledgeable guide made tour interesting. Found out so much more about these places than we would have on our own.

gAYE_D, Nov 2017
Guide excellent Pantheon crowded but not uncomfortably so. Santa Minerva worth a visit.
spencer.shepherd, Nov 2017
A wonderful young lady showed us around the Pantheon and Santa Maria Sopra Minerva. It would have been better if a headphone system was provided.
Edward R, Oct 2017
The Pantheon and Santa Maria Sopra Minerva tour was definitely a worthwhile experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared lots of insightful information about both sites that we definitely would not have known had we toured on our own. Note that the meeting place is on the side of the Pantheon near Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, not at the front of the Pantheon.

Very knowledgeable guide. My wife was very impressed with this tour.
Camilo_M, Oct 2017
Skip the line is great. Local guide was very professional.
Jake_r, Oct 2017
It is Free to get into both the Church and The Pantheon however this tour is a short walking tour and only took about an hour. What made this tour was our tour guide knew really well about both sites and gave us a lot of information about these historical sites and made the tour worthwhile. I learned a lot from our tour guide and really enjoyed myself I would recommend this tour to anyone.
Ron_H, Oct 2017
The Minerva is hard to find. It is at the back of the Pantheon otherwise information given was good.
Susan H, Sep 2017
Our guide, Claudia, was knowledgeable and a very delightful person. Very interesting facts and great tour.
Gail S, Sep 2017
Claudia was our guide and she was great. She was very knowledgeable on both the church and the Pantheon. This was an easy tour to do our first day in Rome after traveling all night. The Pantheon is a must see!
SherriLee_A, Sep 2017
Very cute informative tour. We were lucky it was a small group
Toni D, Sep 2017
A great tour and just the right length of time and information as the place was very crowded. The tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. Took this tour late in the afternoon in mid-August, so it was very hot, so would recommend taking this tour in the morning if touring in the middle of summer. Would highly recommend this tour.
Maurice_O, Sep 2017
This tour is not as described. Only about 15 of 90 minutes spent in Pantheon, reason for taking the trip. 90 of emphasis on Santa Maria Minerva. MISLEADING ADVERTISING. Guide was very good only reason for 3 star instead of 1 star. .
