Terrible communications with provider ended up with our missing our tour. Paid extra for designated pick-up location that was totally ignored

We were marked as a no show by the tour operator because we were sent unclear and ambiguous instructions for the pick up location. Our hotel is located in postcode 101, so we had to make our way to a bus pick up point as there are traffic restrictions on that street. Unfortunately, there are 2 pick up points close to the hotel and we were not instructed which one to go to. We tried calling the tour operator but couldn't get through. We visited their website and our hotel was listed under bus stop 14 as the designated pick up point, so that is where we went. The bus didn't show up and we missed the tour. We went to the local tourist office and they let us use their phone to call the tour operator, who told us we should have gone to bus stop 6 rather than 14. My mind reading abilities must not have been working that morning, and NONE of the information we were sent via email specified bus stop 6 as our designated pick up point. We had to pay again to book on a different tour and are now trying to get a refund for the original.

Good coverage of the 3 main sites to see outside Reykjavik. Enough time provided at each. Comfortable bus and good value.
Explanation of sites was good but there was no general commentary/ introduction on the way out of Reykjavik or during tour as I would have expected. Commentary only related to the main sites.

Be sure you know where your pickup is. We were told that we would be picked up in front of our hotel by one chat agent. Another said we had to go to the nearest bus stop. No bus stop was within sight and no directions to the bus stop were provided. We missed the pickup and the tour.

They canceled the tour due to weather, however never process the refund. Many of my other bookings on Viator in Iceland were canceled due to weather. Other operators were prompt in issuing the refund other than this one.

Bucket list of things to do in Iceland. Stunning scenery!! Very cold and slippery tho, so dress appropriately.
Only down side was leaving last site at 3:15, we didn’t get back till 6:15.

Tour company was a no show. They claim they left at 9:45however our pickup time was 10:00. There were 4 other couples left stranded. It ruined a valuable once in a life time opportunity to see Rajkevik.

We enjoyed this tour, seeing the fault lines with large rocks and boulders at Tningvellir National Park, and onto seeing the Geothermal Fields watching the Geysers letting off steam. Ending with the amazing Gullfoss Waterfall and we had a rainbow on the side of the falls.

For me, the most memorable, was the Geysers and the waterfall. Would have have liked more time, especially at the geysers as it was packed, so by the time I got something to eat. I had to do a rush job, looking at them

Geysers were impressive! The whole landscape is unique!
I think more time should be allowed at each stop to take advantage of the experience, as It is a long bus ride.

The trip itself was great. Unfortunately, the organisation was not. I was supposed to picked up at 10am and by 10:35 I had to contact viator to sort things out since nobody had showed up but also I had not received any messages from the tour operator either. They eventually picked me up at 11:30 and even then it took a while for the tour to start.

Great to see three different parts of Iceland's rich geography. Only wish our very knowledgeable guide had stayed with us as we saw the sites, rather than just briefed us on the bus and turned us loose.
And the pickup and drop off arrangements were problematic . Poor advance communications. All worked out, but with confusion.

The tour itself is good. However the pre-pay SMARTBUS pickup to go to the tour departure point never arrived. That forced us to travel by taxi to avoid missing the tour. The company refused to reimburse us for the out of pocket cost.

The tour guide was very nice and friendly. We liked the small geysers giving out steam. It was a windy day and snowing now and then— quite relaxing sitting in the bus going thru the mountains , we throughly enjoyed.

Our guide, Solveg, was excellent. Her knowledge of Icelandic geology, history and culture was impressive and she shared it with personality and energy. Mikael, our driver, did a great job of keeping us on schedule despite a small mechanical problem with the bus. We really enjoyed the day! Our one regret was we had no kroner with us for a tip as we were using our iPhone for all transactions in Reykjavik. Perhaps you should advise your customers well ahead of the trip to have cash on hand.

Bus was too crowded. Each attraction was a crowd nightmare. I think that I summed it up. Would not do this again.

Despite disembarking at the first opportunity from our cruise ship at 7.45 we missed our pickup. No one tried to contact us and when l phoned the tour operator l was just told l had been too late and was offered a later trip which would not arrive back until an hour after we sailed. When booking a trip from a cruise ship there should be some flexibility and at least some effort to contact the customer. We had a wasted day in Reykjavik,the supposed highlight of our cruise

What we expected based on the pictures. Could have used more time at a couple stops to get pictures but we ended up driving back ourselves at a later time. Also noticed there wasn't always a great count of heads so if you're late getting back you may be left and stuck in the middle of no where to beware.

Karen was an excellent tour guide and made the experience interesting and fun. She sang for us and gave everyone on the bus a delicious chocolate liquorice sweet and took us to feed some Icelandic horses and even bought the horse candy.

Bus station if you are walking takes a bit of finding. Comfy coach, good guide and we were blessed with a rainbow over the golden waterfall.

From pick up time to finish, this trip went smoothly. Our guide (Thorn) very knowledgeable, told us all about the country, its history, culture, people.... Had enough time at each location, the great waterfalls was beautiful. You have time for lunch at Geisir. Well worth this trip.

Enjoyable tour. Had a great driver who kept us informed , with a sense of humor, about both the trip and the stops we made. Bonus points to our driver for driving safe in snowy/icy/narrow road conditions. Highly recommended!
