Akureyri Lake Myvatn Godafoss and Lava Fields Tour

A scenic and memorable excursion in Iceland to the majestic Godafoss Waterfall. Godafoss is one of the most spectacular and historic waterfalls in Iceland. The name means the "waterfall of the gods". The waterfall is about 12 meters high (36 feet) and 30 meters wide (90 feet), and it forms a horseshoe shape that creates a stunning spectacle of water and mist. You will have about 45 minutes to explore the waterfall and take photos of this natural wonder. After admiring the waterfall, you will board the bus again and head back to Akureyri but not exactly the same way. You will drive through the beautiful Fnjoskadalur Valley, up to the mountains and down to the Eyjafordur Bay with astonishing view. Our tour is named "Godafoss Express" it's a round trip shuttle from Akureyri to Godafoss Waterfall. On way back from Godafoss the tour could ends straight to the port or in the close downtown but the most popular choice is to Botanical Garden. This is not far from Downtown and Port with a nice walk in downhill. Other drop off choices (making arrangements with driver) visiting other attractions in Akureyri are available (ZipLine Akureyri, Forrest Lagoon, Aviation Icelandic Museum, Motorcycle Icelandic Museum) entrance tickets are not included. NOTE: For those who are willing to extend 60/90 minutes their visits giving us the time necessary for our shuttle to return back to the botanical garden or to the center (after making arrangements with the driver), we are happy to offer a return to the port with the first available shuttle on place. Highly recommend if you...

Highly recommend if you are traveling via cruise ship. Easy to find the bus as it was a different colors then all others which was nice. Kuba was a great driver and never felt like we were gonna go off road:). Jessica, our tour guide was amazing and filled with tons of information and even threw in some jokes which was awesome. This tour gives you a taste of what the country has to offer. It was also nice to hear about the location on the bus and be able to see them at your own pace.

The trip was fantastic . ...

The trip was fantastic . We had an excellent guide who was knowledgeable and friendly. The Godfoss waterfall was amazing. It’s beauty well worth a visit. On our way back to Akureyri the driver made additional stops allowing those who wanted to visit the lagoon or botanical gardens to be dropped off.

Awesome tour, Maria was...

Awesome tour, Maria was superb! Very friendly, engaging, and had good knowledge of Iceland. The falls are a splendid site, it's Iceland so be sure to dress warmly and be prepared for rain. There is a lovely inn with coffee and donuts included in this tour :) There is also a cafe next door to stop in and warm up. I travel with my 75 year old grandpa who has a little bit of knee pain. The paved path to the waterfall is easy and doable!

Stunning Godafoss

Brilliant excursion to Godafoss waterfall. Easy to find where to get the coach, Graham our driver (a fellow Brit) was a great tour guide and it was really interesting to listen to him enroute, he is very knowledgeable. The waterfall is absolutely stunning and there is a cafe, gift shop and hotel there. We had a drink and sat outside the hotel but be aware if you haven’t purchased anything they do charge to use the toilet. We spent an hour at the falls which was just the right amount of time. Beware the flies which were rife, I think due to it being a sunny day. On the way back Graham made a photo viewpoint stop and passengers could get off at forest lagoon. We got off at the botanical gardens rather than going straight back to the port. Fabulous trip we are so glad we booked.

Great tour, stunning views, highly recommend a swim in the Nature Lagoon.

Fabulous tour!… our guide was SO good, telling us lots of stories and information about Iceland. He went out of his way to give us the best tour. The waterfall was simply stunning. We also went to the Nature Lagoon which was a truly spectacular experience. Warm, blue and gorgeous, a must do experience.

An absolutely magical whale watching experience!

We were lucky enough to spot humpback whales as well as harbor porpoises multiple times, sometimes just a few meters from the boat. A truly unforgettable moment. Our guide was passionate and gave clear, easy-to-follow explanations in English. You could really feel her enthusiasm and deep knowledge of the local marine wildlife. A perfect experience from start to finish — highly recommend!

Michael was a fantastic tour guide. He provided lots of knowledge at each and every stop and even in between while headed to our next stop. He was easy to understand and very pleasant to talk with at the stops. Arnar, our bus driver was wonderful as well. He told us of some of the local customs and such. Incredible experience

We saw a humpback whale, a minke whale, puffins and a pod of dolphins stayed with us for quite sometime. Beautiful weather. The one guide from Spain was exceptional. And the tour narrator was very knowledgeable about whales.. I also appreciated the fact they were respectful of wildlife. Have already recommended to a number of tourists along the way.

Simply the greatest whale watching!

Amazing experience! We saw at least 4 humpback whales, incredibly active. Mother and calf together, two whales hunting together... Not to mention an absolutely stunning sunset! Captain Austin and our zoologist guide, Kaj, were friendly and knowledgeable. The RIB boat ride itself is a blast as well. It does get cold out on the bay--they provide a protective suit but you'll likely want to bring gloves, hat, and scarf. And if you are prone to motion sickness, be sure to use your Dramamine. But I seriously cannot recommend this tour enough. We did this tour two years ago, and bright our teens with us this time to share the magic with them.

Fantastic trip

We had a fantastic trip all the staff were so friendly and helpful. I was a bit concerned about the suits you have to put on as I'm quite a big guy but they had a range of sizes that fitted well im probably a uk 3xl/4xl and fitted fine if anyoneis worried! We did manage to see several different whales and was such a unique opportunity to get so close to these amazing creatures. 10 out of 10 would do it again in a heartbeat. Great trip fantastic crew Thank you so much for this amazing experience

Excellent experience

The experience was incredible, we saw dozens of whales, they had a good location, the captain was excellent, he navigated very well with 6-foot waves, I say this because I have experience in sailing, and with minus 0 degrees Celsius (20 and something Fahrenheit) we didn't even got cold thanks to the suits they provided
