I chose what turned out...
I chose what turned out to be the best tour with Timberbush Tours. I’m usually someone who listens to music while travelling, but from start to finish, our guide Marita kept everyone engaged with her storytelling and insights. I was travelling solo, and she truly made it feel like a special and memorable journey. I would highly recommend anyone planning to explore Scotland to choose Timberbush and if you get the chance, go with Marita, who is an excellent guide.

Shawna and Skye, a great combination
I have only good things to say about the day, the beauty of the landscape, and the knowledge and humour and overall delightfulness of our intrepid guide for the day. Shawna (apologies, as I didn’t enquire about the spelling of her name) was entertaining from start to finish and struck that fine balance between storytelling and historical context without going on too long. She was never boring! I can’t say that about very many people talking that long. And she’s a mountaineer. You’ll be lucky if you get her (don’t forget to tip your guides!). If this is what Rabbies is all about, I will be back. Some advice: bring Dramamine for the winding drive and be punctual at all stops for the courtesy of all. Thank you for a great day, Shawna!

This was the perfect way...
This was the perfect way to explore Loch Ness!! I thoroughly enjoyed the boat tour and it helped that the weather was fantastic. Urquhart castle was a must and it was the perfect amount of time to explore. And the museum was a fun way to end the experience!

Thoroughly recommended
Really good short cruise of Loch Ness. The tour guide, Linda (sp?), was interesting, well informed (and multi-lingual!). All staff, on shore and on board, were warm and friendly. We also had a very nice lunch at the Clansman Hotel beforehand. The hotel gift shop had some good items, though we resisted purchasing anything today! Would happily do this again when we’re next in the area, possibly taking the two-hour trip or include the stop-off at Urquhart Castle

Inverness, the biggest city in the Scottish Highlands, is an excellent base from which to explore the area. There are dozens of Inverness tours to choose from, including excursions to 1,000-year-old castles, the Isle of Skye, whisky distilleries, Outlander and Harry Potter filming locations, and a Bronze Age burial site. Just outside Inverness, you can also visit the historic Culloden battlefield as well as Loch Ness—you may not see the lake’s famous monster, but you’ll see her likeness everywhere.
