What are people saying about Inverness

Simple and enjoyable
Lovely ride out along the Loch as far as Urquhart Castle. I only booked the ticket for the ride, so we stayed for just a few minutes to let those with castle tickets get off, and then headed back to the harbour. It was simple and peaceful, with an informative pre-recorded commentary playing overhead. That was a bit difficult to hear at times, but in an environment with so many other people and not everyone interested, it's natural for side conversations to drown it out. The crew did an amazing and professional job, and kudos to them, also!

2 day Inverness tour- take the tour!!
Busy but well worth it! Well organized! We saw alot of sights and had frequent stops to break up the bus ride. Limited time in Portree as late getting in and early leaving- only downside. Stewart was great as our tour guide!! Plenty of photo stops & interesting facts✨️ The bus was comfy, enjoyed the small group number of people. Stewart made sure we got back to Inverness in time to catch our train...thank you for a wonderful time!!

To Inverness and Beyond (aka the Isle of Skye)!
We had a great driver and tour guide, Martin, who is a local of Inverness! He was very knowledgeable about the history and lore of the places we stopped. I also liked that he gave some contemporary news about the locations. Some were personal stories and memories which were also enjoyable to hear! We had ample stops to stretch legs, use the bathroom, and take photos to and from the Isle of Skye. I also appreciated that Martin used his judgement of when to make stops (some on the way rather than heading back) as the weather of Scotland is always dynamic. Although the road work caused a bit of a delay, Martin got us on an alternate route to avoid the traffic and get us back as soon as possible. He also gave feedback on the delays for the benefit of future tours. On our way back, we saw multiple double rainbows which was a real treat. Overall, we had a great time. We really appreciated Martin’s positive attitude, patience, creativity, great sense of humor, kindness, and love for this area which enhanced this tour’s experience.

Hogwarts Train ride experience
Emily is an amazing tour guide and went the extra mile to make this experience an enjoyable one. She entered the Hogwarts train to guide us, gave us suggestions and shared so much Scottish history, including a Scottish playlist, which was such a pleasant balance.

Inverness, the biggest city in the Scottish Highlands, is an excellent base from which to explore the area. There are dozens of Inverness tours to choose from, including excursions to 1,000-year-old castles, the Isle of Skye, whisky distilleries, Outlander and Harry Potter filming locations, and a Bronze Age burial site. Just outside Inverness, you can also visit the historic Culloden battlefield as well as Loch Ness—you may not see the lake’s famous monster, but you’ll see her likeness everywhere.
