Nessie hunting
Relaxing and beautiful scenic views of the loch. A mini bar with drinks and tiny snacks offered for purchase and multiple bathrooms available on boat. The Highland hot chocolate had a ‘dram of whiskey’ and was quite tasty! Crew was friendly and narrator was informative and talkative enough but not too much where you couldn’t enjoy conversations with your family. The docking site had a nice gift shop and a connecting cafe restaurant where we enjoyed lunch after our tour. All in all, a very relaxing afternoon spent on the loch. Nessie was a no show though.

Great experience! Our guide Willie made the trip informative and fun! Saw a lot on our way to Isle of Skye and while we were there. Fairy Pools were beautiful but Viator should include a disclaimer that there is a significant walk to the pools from the parking area. The town of Portree was so stunning and quaint. Would recommend this excursion but be mindful that it is a full day with a lot of time in the coach/bus.

Great way to see more of the area if you’re not driving. Smooth ride and very informative! Our guide, Mike, was great! He was easy to listen to, with a nice voice, good stories, interesting history of the area, and recommendations at the stops. Wonderful day spent on the tour to Isle of Skye!

Wonderful Highland Tour from Inverness
If you are looking for a train to be part of the tour, that didn't happen due to a last-minute change from the railroad operators. HOWEVER, our tour guide, Louise, was fantastic and safely drove us around the Highlands to visit some beautiful places, and we saw everything that we would have seen on the train (which I have experienced before). She was a beast at handling the bus on those "wiggly-squiggly" roads (as she described them), and I was happy to take a break from driving on the left side of the road and let her navigate us. As a native Scot, she told us many wonderful tales of Highland traditions along the way. She even quoted poetry! I always felt safe while she was driving, and she was professional and lots of fun.

Inverness, the biggest city in the Scottish Highlands, is an excellent base from which to explore the area. There are dozens of Inverness tours to choose from, including excursions to 1,000-year-old castles, the Isle of Skye, whisky distilleries, Outlander and Harry Potter filming locations, and a Bronze Age burial site. Just outside Inverness, you can also visit the historic Culloden battlefield as well as Loch Ness—you may not see the lake’s famous monster, but you’ll see her likeness everywhere.
