The lava show was a great experience. We saw a demonstration with real lava which was very interesting. Followed with a ride simulating a trip into a volcano. Enjoyed the show and would recommend
The lava was amazing to get so close and see its properites I had no clue. But, our host was amazingly knowledgable and maneuvered the lava in ways I never expected. So much cooler than the description. Suggestion to sit on the lower level so you can feel the heat.

What an incredible experience. The whole thing was so well presented. The moment that the lava starts flowing down the trough and you feel the heat hit your face is breathtaking. This was a highlight of my trip to Reykjavik.

I booked this last minute and wasn’t sure what to expect. This is a must do experience for anyone traveling in Iceland! This show is the only place where you can safely see and learn about lava. Very impressive and very informative too!

We enjoyed the Lava show. The host was very informative. It was a unique experience. The staff were very friendly and called us a taxi after the show.
It was amazing!!! We arrived and they gave us a token for a drink and sweet little treat. Then we went in for the show would recommend this show if you are looking to see real lava.

This is a very unique show that is offered no where else in the world. I went with a friend and was very impressed by the whole process of melting down the lava and see it pouring down from the furnace. It was a cool show with lots of commentary on volcanoes and about the lava itself, how it acts, and the different stages of melting and cooling. I will do the show again.

Rico was knowledgeable not just about the lava but also about Iceland in general. Presentation was done very well. One more if you get the premium upgrade they seat you in the upper level so you are not as close but it works well because it is so hot from the lava. The upper level is only one row so there is not a bad seat.

How often can you sit 10 feet away from hot lava? Our tour guide, Ian was engaging, knowledgeable and funny! Previously a school teacher, he presented the lava facts very well. Who knew you won't sink if stepped in lava? Loved this show! I highly recommend!

It was definitely a tourist trap - not awful, but if you do go, there is no reason to get the "premium" experience. The view actually looked better from the flood and not the balcony. There is a plexiglass-type wall in front that you have to stand up in order to get an un-obstructed view. Would probably be neat for kids.

We understand your disappointment with the balcony view and the barrier affecting your sightline. The Premium experience is intended to offer a different perspective along with additional elements beyond the seating, but we appreciate that the closer Classic seating may be preferable for guests who primarily want to experience the lava flow and its heat up close.
We also take your “tourist trap” comment seriously. Our aim is to create a genuinely educational and memorable experience centered around real molten lava, so we’re sorry that the value of the experience did not come across that way for you.

The full sensory experience - you can see and smell the lava and feel the heat. We also got to touch (and keep) a small piece of lava as part of our package. Although other facilities explain about a lava etc, this one enables you to experience it. It seemed quick because it was so interesting. The only hesitation I have is the location- unless you are part of a bus tour. We ordered a car thru Hreyfill but they did not even allocate us a car for over 15 minutes . However we saw public buses stopped across the parking area out front and the drivers were very kind explaining to us how best to get to Perlan. A shuttle bus would have been helpful.
