A long but amazing day. We encountered heavy snow and a blizzard but all the sights were still amazing. We particularly enjoyed the walk to the glazier. Coach was very comfortable and warm on a cold and snowy day. Glad we did not hire a car and booked a coach tour. Albert ( tour guide) was very knowledgable and friendly

Itinerary

This full-day tour of Iceland’s southern coast starts with hotel pickup (if option selected) or pickup from a central meeting point. Take a ride on a coach bus through the farming lands to a unique spot of the coast.

The first stop of the day is at Skogafoss waterfall on the Skoga River. This massive waterfall has been known to be featured in famous films. After snapping some photos here, it’s time to take a break for lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant.

Once you’re feeling satisfied from your meal, your guide takes you and your group over to Reynisfjara to explore the black-sand beaches. Enjoy views of the Atlantic Ocean’s waves crashing over the sands.

Afterward, visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you might be able to see Hekla, Eyjafjallajokull, and the Westman Islands. Sit back and relax on your bus ride to Reykjavik. Your guide drops you off at your original departure point in time for dinner in the evening.

My sister and I loved this tour. Our tour guide was Gunnar, and he was incredible. We had a gas station stop shortly into the tour which allowed us to get coffee, a pastry and make a bathroom run. We went to Skógafoss, Vik, Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Solheimajokull Glacier and then ended with Seljalandfoss. The itinerary felt well planned and I felt we had enough time at each stop. Vik is where we stop for lunch and there was enough time and food options. My only advice is dress appropriately, Iceland weather can be unpredictable.

Horrible....we waited in hotel lobby due to rain....had my 88 yr old father with us...he has mobility issues..walks slow with cane....we were in lobby....no one from transportation company came in.....waited 30 minutes....called company and was told that the driver came to hotel...we missed our adventure all because of a lazy driver....guess they didn't want to get wet ??? We missed our trip and are out the $400 + .... W Very unprofessional, especially when the driver should of had our names and the number of people that they are to pick up at each location !!!! He also should of had our phone number as it is given when you book a trip !!! No call...no come into hotel....a complete disgrace....Horrible lack of service...sent email to travel provider.....no response....asked for refund....crickets

We loved this tour. Yes it was a long day, but natural wonders of the world are not conveniently next door to each other! The tour guide was excellent. His knowledge and delivery was informative and interesting. The waterfalls were magnificent, the black sand beach incredible, but it was seeing the glacier that took our breath away. Outstanding and comprehensive South coast

A fantastic overview of the south coast if you’ve already done the Golden Circle. In my opinion this is more spectacular. Pieter our guide was outstanding. He was clear with his expectations at each stop and explaining the practicalities of each stop. His explanations and stories of Iceland, the local culture, and each site we visited was informative and entertaining. We also enjoyed his humour especially with some of the troll stories. Our pick up and drop off to the cruise terminal went well. My only point of dissatisfaction is the fact that the terminal where the buses left from which was Reykjavik Adventures (or something similar to that) required payment for the use of the toilet. It was THE only place out of two on the entire tour (and we stopped at about 8 places) that made us pay. That’s in pretty poor taste when we have to transition through there and we are paying for your tour! It just comes across as greedy. I’d prefer you added a few dollars to the price of the tour and didn’t tell us. It might seem small to you but we were rushing to get on the bus between our transfer from the pick up and then we had to figure out how to use the machine. A rude person darted in my husband’s entry just as he released the lock to go in. It was just stressful and greedy at the same time!

Good highlights of area, our guide Birgir was well informed but a little bit difficult to understand. The driver was not friendly and very strict, sometimes bordering on rude. The itinerary was excellent and good value. We were very excited to see many puffins at the beach stop. We found it interesting that the bus would not return us to bus stop 8, stating that a big bus cannot fit at that stop. However, we had gotten off and on big buses from that location several times.

The tour was very inclusive and the guide very knowledgeable, we were travelling by a clean, comfortable coach bus with wifi and usb phone charging ports. Wear comfortable shoes because it is as long as the time states, the weather can also be as unpredictable as expected (it was sunny at the black beach but hailed at the glacier). We stopped a couple of times in areas you could grab food and use washrooms, these areas had groceries stores if you didn’t want to buy a whole restaurant meal. There is so much to learn and our guide was kind enough to share her knowledge and point out even small details we may not have noticed on our own. Thanks for the awesome tour!

We were looking forward to the trip but it didn’t happen. I chose the location from the list, was sent a map with a pin and waited at the location for half an hour, nobody turned up. Rang the operator and found out that they don’t pick up from this location. So why was it listed ? They apparently sent an email with a different location ( that wasn’t listed) but I wasn’t aware as it went to the spam for some reason. After reading it I discovered that part of the address was still the one we waited at and the other part was different so well confusing. Nobody was bothered to even call us and check why we were not present at the other location. To be fair they offered alternative dates but we had something else booked. So if you book contact the operator to double check the location. I’ve contacted Viator and they’ve requested refund but nothing back yet. We were gutted as we loved a Golden Circle trip with the same operator so we booked whilst still on that trip and were expecting another amazing experience.

Great tour, shame about the issues with the bus and being dumped out somewhere other than our pickup place

The day was very good, tour guide was very helpful although it could be improved. The coach we were on had large cracks all over the windscreen and kept steaming up so the driver had to keep opening the window. This was a mild annoyance but got worse as due to the wet weather, our clothes were wet and we were freezing cold the 2 hour drive home as the window was open. We arrived back late into Reykjavik to be told that the shuttle bus that was meant to take us back to our bus stop wasn’t there. The coach driver did some drop offs and then we got into downtown Reykjavik. It was announced that everyone should get off at that stop. The stop was a 10-15 min walk from our pickup which is not acceptable as we had paid to be picked up and dropped off at our stop. I would recommend the sightseeing tour and guides but the ending left us with a bit of a sour taste. Be aware that the tour is likely to take more than 10 hours (ours was 11) and that you may not get what you pay for when it comes to being dropped back to your accommodation

This was awesome! Obviously you spend a lot of time on the bus, but that’s the perfect time to sleep off your hangover from the night before! Really though, they schedule the locations well so that you’re never waiting for too long, and the tour guide offers a lot of great facts and information during the drives! Furthermore, seeing a glacier is incredible. That alone is worth this experience, but the waterfalls are also great.

Great way to visit multiple parts of the south side

Guide was full of information on our journey to the area, lots of bathroom breaks and plenty of time to explore with tips on how to make the fullest of the times at each area. We booked last minute at night for the day after. Glad that we decided to visit the south side of the island. Great for not too active people as most were easily walkable.

It was a large coach, and as we were the last pick up the three of us were unable to sit together, so just be aware this can happen. However, the guide was very knowledgeable. All the stops were memorable. In my honest opinion, the black beach was overcrowded. However the stop in Vik, meant you could explore the beach with barely anyone else taking a million selfie of themselves! It's a long drive to and from Reykjavik, but the scenery is spectacular, and you get to see volcanoes and a glacier.

This tour was brilliant. From Eyjafjallajökull to Skogafoss to Black Sand Beach to Seljalandsfoss ...all of it was thrilling and driving through the splendid Iceland Winter Snow landscape was like a meditation. The tour guide was super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I'm really glad I came to Iceland in the winter and feel lucky to have caught the snow. One downside: the glacier stopoff was cancelled. But it was due to heavy wind and couldn't be helped

Great tour but very weather dependent

The weather wasn’t great but the tour guide did his best to help us see the waterfalls and the glacier. The bus driver was also amazing because at times, all you could see was the fog. We saw some great views which would be even better with good weather, so I guess I have to come back! The tour guide was great at the end as he went around to check where everyone wanted to be dropped off and found close spots - very handy and thoughtful!
