Yahhh we were able to experience the Northern Lights. Our driver was incredibly knowledgeable about the Northern Lights. He had a great personality and was very interactive with the group. He took some amazing photos which are included. If you aren’t as fortunate to experience the lights on your scheduled night the company gives you the opportunity to go out a second night. Overall I would highly recommend this tour!

This trip was recommended by travel companions we met in Iceland. The experience was incredible and while it cost a bit more than other Northern Lights experiences, I can see why. The driver works with a "central command" to identify areas in the sky without clouds, and compare that to solar activity. They knew exactly where to drive and we went to multiple locations. Unlike other tours which are set to go to one location, this tour will take you wherever the Northern Lights are brightest. The drive was knowledgeable and fun, informative and also took amazing pictures of all the attendees. Included in the trip is the professional pics that were taken during your tour.

Our guide, the owner of the company, was very knowledgeable about the lights and gave many interesting facts. The hot cocoa was great and he stopped for bathroom breaks which was much appreciated. Also, he had several spots that he took us to even though we didn’t have a very good showing of the lights I enjoyed the facts and company of the guide.

This was an amazing experience! Luck was with us, and we began seeing the lights shortly after leaving Reykjavic. Our guide knew just where to go for viewing, and was very informative with great info all night long. The bus was comfortable. All in all one of the best experiences of my life!

Once in a lifetime moment

I booked this tour as an early birthday gift to myself, knowing there was only about a 50/50 chance of seeing the Northern Lights. I kept my expectations realistic because of the clouds earlier that day, but our guide truly made the experience unforgettable. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained how solar flares and coronal mass ejections from the Sun send charged particles toward Earth, creating the aurora. His passion for the science behind it made the experience even more meaningful. He was determined to find the perfect viewing spot and did not give up. He also has an incredible eye for photography — the pictures turned out amazing! The hot cocoa was a perfect touch while we waited under the night sky. I would absolutely book with him again. He was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely awesome. Highly recommend!

Amazing lights - enthusiastic guide

Guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable - drove to several places to find light which were spectacular. He took pictures of us with the lights behind us. Nice touch. Only issue is it was so cold and the bus remained open and off so no opportunity to warm up. The driver stayed off taking pictures while we were all on the bus ready to go. So maybe he was alittle over enthusiastic???

We keep the bus open and turn the heater on in between so people can get in and out as it is warmer inside than outside. You asked the guide to get going as all people was on the bus and ready. 5 minutes later the guide was on the bus and drove ahead back home, but had to turn around and pick up one lady that was left behind, as she was still outside photographing and enjoying the northern lights. So your statement about everyone ready on the bus to go back almost caused that one lady was left out in the cold. In case people want to control the tour schedule, we also offer private tours. On Scheduled tour we must control the tour schedule, for example to avoid someone left behind. Best regards Siggi

Fantastic Aurora Experience

We were very lucky to have an outstanding Aurora night. Our guide/driver/owner of the excursion was knowledgeable, friendly, and focused on making sure we had a great experience. Picked up right on time, Sprinter bus with about 15 guests. 45-60 minute ride from Reykjavik city center. Our guide explained in advance how the Aurora begin slowly, on the horizon, and should peak overhead about midnight. He was spot on, obviously knows his lights. We were fortunate to see almost full sky coverage and saw the dancing Aurora lights in green and some red. We were on site about three hours. Wrapped up with a hot chocolate warming treat and pit stop at the park facilities before the trip back. Highly recommended…

The tour was fantastic. It’s a small group tour in a small van. Thomas the driver was outstanding. He has a wealth of knowledge and is happy to share with everyone. They go the extra mile to move around for best viewing finding a dark place off the road. They take professional photos which are included. Bonus!

Brilliant experience with a Knowledgeable and friendly Guide

My partner and I had a great experience on this trip. The tour leader was great, he was very knowledgeable explaining the science behind the northern lights and what key indicators we could look at to try and predict how they might look. Unfortunately they weren’t particularly active the night of the tour, but we did manage to see them! We were still offered the opportunity to rebook for another night as the tour leader seemed genuinely disappointed we didn’t get to see more. Would recommend.

Worthy Every Penny!

I couldn’t be happier with this trip! It was INCREDIBLE! I didn’t realize that professional photos were included, so there’s no need to bring any special cameras. It was a smaller group too (roughly 12 people). The guide was VERY knowledgeable and said he had been doing this for over 12 years. I was very impressed by his description of the science behind the northern lights. I was also amazed by all the stars and constellations out at that time. He helped me identify a few planets visible to the naked eye, and even a galaxy! Lastly, he was far from boring no matter what others might have said! Do prepared for a quieter group because it’s so late at night though. And out of respect for other people, DO NOT use the flash on your phone. There were some annoying tourists that he repeatedly had to kindly remind to turn it off because they ruined professional photos of others. The guide was kind enough to take multiple to ensure everyone had at least a few good ones. Lastly, PACK WARM! I thought I was dressed warm, but I was mistaken. The wind is no joke!

Brilliant tour, must book!

We had the most incredible Northern Lights tour. Our guide was absolutely brilliant and went above and beyond to give us the best possible experience. He took us up into the mountains as he truly believed we’d have a better chance of seeing the lights there. Even drove around the mountains for a while to make sure we had the best possible spot! After seeing faint lights around 11pm, he kept informing us that they were coming out really bright and then fading so he was sure they were trying to get brighter. We stayed out passed 1am (which he didn’t need to do as we did faintly see them earlier) and he was right, they came out even brighter and unbelievable and he took the most amazing photos of the lights and us underneath the lights which we received pretty much within the hour. The hot chocolate was a lovely touch and he was such a genuine, passionate guy. An unforgettable night!

Tomas was so amazing and took us to a secret little spot just outside of Reykjavik to view the lights. He made sure we looked in every direction and took us to different spots near where the van was parked so we could get different views. On top of that excellent experience, we were provided with amazing professional photographs of the lights and us. I highly recommend this tour!

Magical, mystical, everything we wanted

AMAZING!! Even though we saw the lights within the first few minutes of our tour, our tour guide, Al, insisted we continued searching for some more. And thank goodness he did, because we saw an even better lights show later in the night. Al was very persistent, driving us and contacting his coworkers constantly to make sure we were going to the most probable locations. He would keep us updated at all times and braved the cold to search for lights while we stayed inside the heated minibus. The photos he took were also amazing! He made sure everyone got their turn in front of the camera and that everyone had the photos they wanted. Highly recommend this tour.

Do not waste your money and time!

Iceland Everywhere Tours YOU GUYS ARE THIEVES. YOU KNEW THE WEATHER DID NOT LOOK GOOD AND INSTEAD OF CHANGING THE DATE YOU CONTINUED TO WASTE MY FAMILY'S TIME. WHILE OUR TOUR GUIDE WAS A BORING OLD MAN TALKING BALONEY FOR 4 HOURS. And you may ask did we get our money back? OF COURSE NOT. I got off the phone and had a disrespectful conversation. First the phone call started with someone falsely accusing us which came out very rude. Then the tour was compared to a doctor's visit which had nothing to do and was a stupid comparison. To end it off, he said to COMPLAIN TO GOD for the bad weather which hurt because we are a Christian family and just want our hard-earned money back. Absolutely nothing was given back as compensation so never book with Iceland Everywhere Tours.

Thank you for your review. We go out if we believe there is a chance to see the Northern Lights. If we do not believe we can see them we cancel the departure and offer our customers to reschedule for another evening. We monitor the weather channels and forecast from early morning to midday before we make our final decision regarding if the tour is operated or not. Forecast for December 29th predicted clouds to clear up at midnight, so we decided to go out as clear sky or partly clear is number one to be able to see the lights if they appear. Our tour duration is 5 hours, so we got two hours chance to see northern lights appear. We got partly clear sky and stars but unfortunately we did not spot the northern lights and it is only up to mother nature if they appear or not. Our customers were offered to book on a free retry by sending us an email to our direct email address. We never received email from you asking to be booked on a free retry. In our tour description with all our resellers is it mentioned that sightings of the northern lights are not guaranteed as they are natural phenomena and it is also mentioned that operated tour are not refundable. What was said on the phone and is written in this review is an insult to our guides that are doing their best. What comes around goes around. Our drivers and us who run this company are also hard-working and we do have to pay salary, taxes and other cost that comes with running a business. Kind regards Iceland Everywhere

Our tour guide Tomas was wonderful. He helped educate us about the Northern Lights and he also talked about Iceland history.. Tomas explained early on we would have to be patient sometimes you see the NL sometimes you don’t, no guarentee. We DID end up seeing the lights in three different locations. Tomas was great, taking photos, he had all of us laughing, very friendly and good with the teens joking about their photo for their profile. . He never made us feel rushed, always giving us plenty of time to soak the experience in. I would also like to compliment the company in general, communication was great, pick up was right on time. The sharing of the license plate was so helpful as many many tours go on at the same time. Thank you for a great experience.

Amazing way to experience the Northern Lights! Perfect size very comfortable mini bus so you won't be over crowded. Really insightful knowledge from the guide Siggy, who went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great experience. He found all the perfect places to see the Northern Lights in a spot that wasn't an over crowded car park! So not only did I get some amazing photos of the lights but also the landscape. The hot chocolate was delicious. Not only did we see the lights but also learned loads about them and got to ask lots of questions about Iceland. 100% would recommend this tour.

Arrived in Iceland an hour earlier, saw the lights on the bus into town but was comfortable knowing I had this tour.. Despite the guides best efforts, and visiting some stunning locations, the sky wouldnt play again. Just as he had dropped off some guests already, they came and he quickly whizzed us off to one of his fave locations where we spent the next 30 mins in heaven. There are no guarantees with the lights, but if you book with these, then they will be found, even if at the end of a long cold night.

Awesome experience. I had to go twice to see them. No problems and quick scheduling of the retry by trip operator. Guide was very good in making the best experience for us. However after we saw the lights kind of dragged the tour for hours. Considering the tour was late at night and next day early tours it was unnecessary. I can say it was a true searching for Northern lights experience.

The tour duration is 3 to 5 hours and as it is unpredictable when the Northern lights show up, we sometimes have to stay out the whole 5 hours. We saw the northern lights before midnight and again just around midnight but not the brightest. As all measurements indicated brighter lights, I decided to wait longer for them, but no longer than 5 hours. During the drop off then the lights got brighter and colorful and visible through the lights pollution in the city, I pointed out to my customers to look up. When my customers don't book other tours with us, but with other tour operators, it is impossible for me to know if you got an early wake up for another tour the day after. It is in your responsibility to organize your tours and wakeup. We try to do our best for all our customers.
