Eva made it even better!
Very lucky we had EVA as guide. She compensated, by far, the extremely adverse weather conditions we faced throughout the whole journey. Joyful, funny and energetic made us appreciate the scenery, history and traditions. Kept us informed about weather and actions to be taken to ensure our safety.

VERY long bus ride but to two amazing sites and 2 waterfalls
Glad we took this tour to the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, but be prepared to spend about 12 hours sitting on a bus. The guide was friendly but did not provide any details about the lagoon, beach, or how to get behind the waterfall (it was impossible in the dark and ice). Stopped twice at the same Vik convenience stop for meals (and you could go to the gift shop). Bus was clean and on time.

It was pretty windy...
It was pretty windy walking to the Ice cave. It was regret that the main cave was closed for safety reason. Fortunately some of the areas are pretty good too.

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon
  • While the lagoon is accessible year-round, Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon tours by boat are weather-dependent and only in operation from April to November.

  • The icy landscapes can be chilly even if the sun is shining, so bring warm clothes, a hat, and gloves even on a summer trip.

  • There's a small café by the lagoon, where you can purchase hot drinks and snacks, or use the restroom.

  • While it’s possible for wheelchair users to view the lagoon, many of the activities on and around the glacier are not suitable for those with limited mobility.
