Our day started bright and early, and the team was right on time for pickup — always a great start! Once everyone was on board, we made a quick stop for breakfast, which was a nice touch before heading out on the road.
Our guide, Mike, was absolutely fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about the different types of rocks, the history of Arizona, and the Native cultures of the region. I learned so much and enjoyed every moment of it.
Both Lower Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend were breathtaking. Mike went above and beyond to make the experience special, especially at Horseshoe Bend — he took the best photos of our group and somehow managed to capture the entire bend perfectly with us in the shot!We stopped at the Bird House for lunch, and it did not disappoint — some of the best chicken I’ve had in a long time.
All in all, the day was perfectly organized, filled with beautiful sights, great food, and amazing company. I’ll definitely be back to join them for the Grand Canyon tour next time!

This tour was beyond anything I imagined! Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend are absolutely breathtaking on their own, but what truly made the day unforgettable was our tour guide, Mark. From the moment we hopped on the bus, he set the tone with his warm personality, fun sense of humor, and genuinely impressive knowledge of the area. Lovely family owned business. Highly recommend.

Worth the time! Hahn with Detours took great care with our entire experience from pick up at 520 am to drop off at 8 pm. There are plentiful bathroom breaks, water, breakfast and lunch are provided. And Antelope Canyon is truly awe inspiring. Take clothes that can be layered and a hat if possible. It helps to be very mobile. Horseshoe bend and lower Antelope canyon involve a good amount of slow walking. And it is helpful to be sure footed for safety. I hate lots of time in cars on vacation but the huge sprinter van was SO COMFORTABLE. And Hahn was so professional and helpful with keeping us on schedule. I highly recommend this epic experience.

Long drive but worth it. The guide is very knowledgeable and informative. The meal arrangements are good.

Full day tour from Scottsdale for sure! Good communications from the tour company called Detour Tours. Our driver was Mark. The shuttle bus was very roomy, newer and comfortable. We received our meeting location and needed to be there by 530am and did not return until about 8pm. We went in July, so very hot. I recommend dressing in light clothing, sunscreen, lightweight hiking shoes, and a hat, but also have a lightweight pullover to protect from sun or use on the bus if you get cold. Did this tour with my wife and 15yr old daughter. Bring snacks that won't melt and extra water. Even though the tour provided water, it was warmer.
We stopped for breakfast and our first break at McDonalds, about an hour into our drive. It is nice that breakfast was included, but we would have preferred a local place/busines, as McDonalds is not our thing. It then took about another 2.5+ hours to reach horseshoe bend. Mark did extensive narration on the state, area, and scenary around us on the ride. He is very passionate and knowledgeable.
They pay the entry into Horseshoe Bend which is per vehicle. We had 1 hour to explore on our own. It is about a ten minute walk to the bend along a dirt path. The walk is slightly downhill so allow for about fifteen minutes to walk back. The bend is really nice and allows for great photos. There is a railing area where most people congregate, and you can then walk along an adjacent area of large rocks to get away from everyone and take your own photos. There are no railings in these adjacent areas, so these areas are not for children or people who are afraid of heights.
Our next spot stop was Lower Antelope Canyon, which is only about 10 minutes from Horseshoe Bend. Mark was able to move up our tour time in antelope, which was nice. The walk from the meeting area to the Canyon entry takes about ten minutes. Most of this walk is slightly downhill in sand and/or rocks covered in sand so it could be slippery. The descent into the canyon was 5-6 flights via metal stairs. One of these flights is a tight ladder style. The Canyon is beautiful and unique. You've likely never seen anything like it. Our local guide took 15 of us in. They moved w/ us throughout, pointing out the best photo areas, of which there are many. The floor of the canyon is all sand and rock. There are some very tight skinny areas to maneuver and more shorter flights of stairs throughout the ascent to the top. Some areas required single step movement as the terrain was only the width of a shoe. Some minimal bending and ducking to avoid rocks along the way. The point is you can be out of shape, but you should have good balance and mobility. It takes about 30ish minutes to move through the canyon with enough pace to keep moving, but to also enjoy the scenery and take photos. We had someone in our group who was out of shape and under hydrated so she needed more rest breaks, so it took us closer to an hour.
After Antelope we went to lunch, which is in downtown Page and about 15 minutes away. The restaurant was a local and they have amazimg chicken. Downside is it is quite rundown, with one bathroom, and we had to sit outside. They had misters, which made it tolerable, but the flies, we're a bit extra. So, the the restaurant itself is not very comfortable. Mark gave us the option to eat on the bus but based on the meal, that wasn't a great option, since you will want to wash your hands after eating and use the bathroom bfore the long ride back. Recommendations next time for this company is to use the very nice looking local brewery across the street. After a long day driving and being outside, eating inside in the A/C would have been nice.
From Page we made a quick stop at Glen Canyon damn which was cool to see.
From here buckle up for the long 4 hour ride home. Mark did great. Played good music. Did some narrating where needed but mostly stayed quiet to let everyone rest. Be warned, there our minimal bathroom stops along the way. So if you need to go tell him right away as it could, then very easily be another 30-40+ minutes for the next place to stop. We got beat up by the sun on the right side of the bus, so the cover-up helped with that. There was an amazing sunset to the right and full moon to the left just before coming into Scottsdale, which was a great ending to a long day.
I definitely i would recommend this tour, although, from Scottsdale, it is not for those who can't ride in a vehicle for long periods of time. I wouldn't recommend taking children under 10 or so.

Very tiring trip but it was worth it. The view at horseshoe bend and antelope canyon definitely worth sitting in the car for more than 10 hours.

This trip was a long day but seeing Antelope Canyon was worth it. You're definitely gonna be in the van for a good chunk of the day but there are plenty of stops for the restroom or food.

Amazing! A perfect day in every way. Mark Lane was an outstanding guide. The drive though varied biomes of Arizona was fascinating. Horseshoe Bend was beautiful. Our stops at Glen Canyon dam and the Grand Canyon starting place were interesting, too, but the centerpiece of this day was Antelope Canyon. What a place! Beautiful, colors and lights, history and totally unbelievable. No pictures can truly capture it. This day was absolutely wonderful. Not to be missed.

It’s a very long day but worth every second! Crack of Dawn departure showed us so much of Arizona along the way! If you’re a fan of scenery, stay awake and watch Arizona change before your eyes- cactus to grass to short cypress and finally the big pines! Saw snow on the mountains near Flagstaff!
Horseshoe Bend was an unexpected plus since I was just looking for the Antelope Canyon! The walk down to the Bend and back was fairly easy even for a sea level person like me! The view was everything you see online or in a magazine! We saw kayaks at the base of the bend that really put the height of the rim and width of the river into perspective!
On to the Lower Antelope Canyon through the Navajo reservation where Nate, our guide was a wealth of information! That made a big difference traveling through what seemed like endless miles of grass, and rock formations! Some of which were downright ugly! Much different view from the Grand Canyon itself! When we finally arrived at the Antelope canyon, the Navajo guides were great! Ours was named Jaden and you could really feel how special the place was to him! He gave us photo tips at the beginning that really worked and also took the time to point out historical facts about the canyon while we made our way through. He also stopped at spots to take pictures of us for us! Wasn’t expecting that! As a tip, I’d say throw some cash in your pocket since you cannot take anything with you except your phone and/or camera! So glad my husband kept his wallet or we wouldn’t have cash to tip the guide. There’s a small gift shop at the site (we were at Dixie’s),if you want a small souvenir after… again…. Bring your credit card and cash or you will be out of luck! We stopped really late for lunch that became dinner at Nate’s favorite place in Page then got back on the road for the long ride home. Stopped at Cameron Trading Post before we left the reservation. That was also a surprise! Overall a very long but great experience! Highly recommend it!

Fantastic trip.
I would do it again tomorrow.
The sights are beautiful. The driver guide and Antelope canyon guide Wyatt were excellent. Wyatt took care in taking pictures of us. Seeing Antelope canyon is a dream come true.

Mark Lane our driver and tour guide was amazing. Friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. It was nice to be with a smaller group too. Recommend the tour!

Amazing sight to see the lower antelope canyon and short stop over in Sedona to see the main street/town. Overall a great trip!

Tour guide was narrating interesting stories regarding the Navajo culture. Most importantly the tour guide very well explained do’s and don’t before reaching the Antelope Canyon.

I booked this tour because I’d read rave reviews about the experience, and especially about a guide named Mark. Unfortunately our group had Nathan, who is better described as a driver than a guide. He began the day by saying he had no idea why it was called Antelope Canyon since he’d never seen an antelope there (a simple google search explained the derivation of its name), and so ensued a day of rambling reminiscing about his own childhood in the area but zero information about the topography or geology of the area we were visiting. In his own words, “You’re not going to hear anything today you’ll find in books,” so why let facts or accuracy get in the way of his long-winded storytelling? We were prepared for a long day of travel but his non-stop babbling and litany of dad jokes did nothing to endear him to the group. Choosing to have breakfast at a gas station was another mistake, instead of reliable McDonalds. Thank goodness the scenery and destinations delivered, but we would have preferred a quiet driver than an uninformed guide feeding us misinformation..

Before I even got on the tour the friendly Detour agents ensured I read my emails and knew the pickup times.
Mark our guide was really a knowledgeable, professional and passionate tour guide. The entire day, while long, was worth it. I was picked up right on time (around 4:40am!) from the hotel Adeline (which was great!). The bus was extremely comfortable, stylish and each seat had its own usb charger. We stopped for breakfast (included in the tour fee at McDonald’s) and later for a yummy chicken-based lunch in Page. Alcohol was separate by the way. Photo included. As for the tour, everything was well-planned. Horseshoe Bend was breathtaking. No hassle with ticket lines. Antelope canyon was absolutely stunning. The native guides help you with your phone camera settings to ensure you take good pictures throughout the visit. I booked this about 6 days ahead to ensure I had decent weather. It is important for some sunlight and lower canyon is the best. As a solo traveler, I can tell you it was a great experience and I highly recommend it! Thank you Detours and Mark!

Dreamed about this trip for almost 3 years and it was perfect!! Mark, our tour guide was an encyclopedia of knowledge, we traveled in style and ate well. And the to top it off the sites were simply stunning. Thank you!

Prompt pickup. Tour guide Mark was knowledgeable and funny. He had lots of energy! He made things happen for us and even took us to grab lunch at a tasty chicken spot called The Bird House. Grateful did this tour and what I was able to experience on it.

The tour guides were super informative. The experience was absolutely incredible. Our tour guide knew all the photo opt spots in the canyon! Horseshoe bend was remarkable as well.

This tour was one of the best we’ve been on. It was well worth the money. Horseshoe Bend views were incredible; antelope canyon is beyond amazing and truly unbelievable what the power of water can do and Lake Powell also had amazing views . Our tour guide Shannon made this a day to remember for years to come.

It was a great experience! The views were amazing. The walk wasn’t bad at all. Our captured some great photos for us and of us to creat lasting memories. Tips for others: wear a hat, wear a hoodie or something with a hood to protect you from the sand fall ( especially a poc you will want to wear something to keep the sand out your hair).
Erica_V, Mar 2024
Well worth it! Our tour guide Shannon was awesome. We saw so much in one day. The van was comfortable and there were enough stops during the day to break it up. Highly recommend this tour! I'm still in awe of the hospitality from Detours West and the sights that we saw.
