Absolutely fantastic tour! Travelling solo and made some great friends on this trip. Jay was absolutely fabulous. He was considerate, knowledgeable and kind. Gave us a lot of local information and history of the region. We even had a pop up quiz at the end of the tour - which we aced thanks to the great teacher! Thank you Detours

Great, But Wouldn’t Recommend Solo

Ronesha_D, Apr 2026
As mentioned in the description, this is a LONG tour. It’s about a 3.5 hour drive to the Grand Canyon, with a 2-hour stay at the Canyon. Our tour guide was great—he was knowledgeable about the area, and gave us tidbits of history all the way there. My only complaint was that with small group tours, you never know who you’ll be with—the people can be welcoming or very standoffish. On my tour, the other participants weren’t very welcoming. I’m not talking about being inviting or joining them when we were off the bus—I’m talking about conversing with other groups on the bus. Every other tour I’ve done has had friendly people; this one did not. For that reason, which is of course no fault of the company, I would highly recommend NOT doing this tour solo. Of note, I traveled on a Monday, and it’s possible that the weekend groups might be better. I would still highly recommend going with someone rather than doing this 13-hour tour alone.

Great tour

Great tour and great guide. Guide very history knowledgeably and friendly. Highly recommend to take that tour.

Amazing opportunity to see it all!!

Lisa_B, Apr 2026
This trip was amazing! Our morning started bright and early with a narrated journey out of the Scottsdale area. Mark, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable and shared the most interesting stories and insights into the unique Arizona landscapes — everything from the science behind the changes in biomes to the legends of the Native Americans. He was extremely informative and entertaining! He has a vast range of stories sure to interest anyone. Along the way, we saw so many sights — from Scottsdale to Grand Canyon and Sedona. It was a full day, packed with beautiful views. My family thoroughly enjoyed the day! **Note: This is a very long day (14ish hours), with a lot of sitting and changes in elevation. I personally recommend taking a pair of compression socks to wear while riding in the tour van.

Great experience

Barbara_M, Apr 2026
It was a very long day but our guide was very excellent. Filled with knowledge and compassion. The van was beautiful and clean the only thing that we would suggest is for the company to advertise that there really isn’t enough time to do a hike or eat lunch and or dinner. Yes they stop several times but never long enough to actually sit and eat. So bring snacks and a lunch. When they stop there are always snack choices and grab and go options. But Jeff was phenomenal. Enjoy

Exciting

Unbelievable views and wonderful guide, Jordan. Unmatched history lessons about Arizona-cultural and beyond. Would book again and again.

Super fun experience.

Sandra_M, Mar 2026
The tour was great. We had a very nice tour guide who was knowledgeable and friendly. Also, they emailed me with the details of the tour. I didn’t see the email so I didn’t respond. They were nice enough to call me to make sure I had my pick up time. Extra ordinary customer service. We took the ground tour and the helicopter tour. The both were fantastic but the helicopter tour was super cool because we could see the full canyon. As a science teacher it was great to see what teach in person like the fault lines and the sedimentary ricks close up. Fantastic tour I recommend it to anyone going to the Grand Canyon.

Enjoyable Ride

Rewarding Day

ELAINE_M, Mar 2026
Long day but worth it! Beautiful scenery! Sam our guide grew up in the area and had lots of stories. Saw Antelope, Elk, Deer, and a cute chipmunk. The grandeur of the Canyon and Sedona area is a must see.

First Time visit to the Grand Canyon & Sedona - Excellent day!

Cathy_H, Mar 2026
Wonderful day filled with history & facts about Arizona & the areas visited. Jordan was a fantastic tour guide & really allowed us to enjoy the sights. We were lucky to have a great group of fellow travelers and overall, we would highly recommend this tour & Jordan :)

What a great experience

Katherine_P, Mar 2026
This was probably one of the best tours we have ever been on. Aldo was amazing. He knew exactly where and when to stop, cleanest restrooms, and great scenic views. He had great insight into the area and was able to give us little tidbits of information. The tour itself was great; the Grand Canyon was absolutely beautiful and we were given more than enough time to walk around where we wanted to. Also had enough time to stop in Sedona; I wish this stop was slightly longer but it is an incredibly long day already. Highly recommend Aldo and this tour group.

Great Trip!

A great overall great experience. The Canyon was breathtaking and the stops along the way were amazing as well. Our guide, Jordan, filled us in on some AZ history and culture as we drove through the mountains. He also noted some mystical sites, which I was very much into. Words can’t really explain the experience of seeing the Canyon and the red rocks of Sedona, so it’s a must-see. When you book your trip to AZ do yourself a favor and take this tour. Highly recommended.

Carol_J, Mar 2026
The vehicle was comfortable with windows to enjoy the changing scenery. Our guide, Jordan, provided interesting information and shared his enthusiasm for the geology, flora and fauna and history of the areas we traversed. We traveled many miles, but there are ample stops to stretch and use the restroom. The many viewpoint stops at The Grand Canyon selected by our guide were spectacular. We were allowed time to take in the breathtaking beauty at each stop. The same was true for Sedona.

Fantastic day.

Eileen_A, Mar 2026
The views were fantastic. Bucket list for sure. Grand Canyon is great. The ride there was long and bumpy due to wind and high vehicle profile. The guide was very informative - Jay. We chose to do the helicopter ride- of course! So happy we did- however- it was not as smooth as I expected- but Duncan did a great job navigating the updrafts. The pictures and memories made up for my nerves! The Sedona visit was definitely underwhelming comparatively. How could it not be- seeing one of the top seven natural wonders of the world beforehand!

Grand Canyon and Sedona

Janet_W, Mar 2026
Me and my Granddaughter traveled with Vince to the Grand Canyon and to Sedona Vince was a fantastic tour operator and talked for the right amount of time The Grand Canyon and Sedona were both amazing. Pictures can’t describe how beautiful and breathtaking these places are. I would highly recommend to visit them with this tour company

Great experience

Lucinda_M, Feb 2026
What a wonderful experience. Aldo, our guide, was so knowledgeable and fun! Not having to drive gave us the opportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. From booking the tour to final drop off everything went smoothly. Highly recommend!

Great Unforgettable Experience!

JETHO_C, Feb 2026
It was an absolutely unmitigated fantastic tour. The stops were great, the Grand Canyon was absolutely breathtaking, Sedona was a great stop with beautiful views and it felt great being there. We had dinner at Agave89 and it was very good mexican food. I can't say enough good things about the tour company especially our guide, Sam. He was prompt and very knowledgeable as he had lived most of life in the Grand Canyon/Sedona area. He knew the places with the best views, and info and history that you can get from someone who has lived there. He was fun to spend the day with. We enjoyed the tour tremendously.

All the wonders of the Grand Canyon

We had an absolutely fabulous time on this tour! Our guide, Mark L., was wonderful, engaging, incredibly knowledgeable, and so much fun to spend the day with. He brought every stop to life and made the experience feel personal and memorable. The tour organizer was also fantastic, keeping us well‑informed from start to finish and making everything easy and stress‑free. Overall, it was a seamless, enjoyable experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Highly recommend!
