Jason and Jasmine were great guides. My friend and I have different levels of experience with mountain biking, but the E-Bikes were worth it. I was concerned as a beginnner, but Jasmine stayed back with me and was helpful with making the most of this trip - guiding with gear shifts and when to lift up the seat, etc. Going downhill can be scary if you don't know how to control your bike, but man oh man, what a thrill.
Amazing views of Malibu from the top. A little scary if this was your first time, but it was quite the adventure. We would definitely come back again.
Afterwards, Jason recommended a few places to check out in the area that had spectacular scenery.

Super fun if you're any kind of adrenaline junkie. I was sure I would eat dirt, but got lucky. Jason taught me and my friend how to e-mountain-bike on this trail. In 2 hours. Going at 2 different speeds and each having our own growth opportunities/f-ups. That's pretty amazing! I could barely ride at first, but by the end of the trip I felt confident on the bike and the trail.
I thought it would be like a flat fire road with few elevation gains or drops, but it's steep enough that if you don't pick up a decent momentum on the way down, the back tire skids; and if you can't do a couple things at once, you might stall up the big hill. The first leg of the trail is great practice because its on the road.
You basically gotta do 3 things: change gears and your seat height when changing elevation, and apply a different pressure to 2 brakes.
Jason coached us how to proceed through every curve and hill, stopped for frequent breaks, set the gears when larger changes coming up, brought water, had eyes on the back of his head, and was always a shout away. No idea how he does it.

Jason was an amazing guide for our first mountain bike adventure. We were celebrating my husband's 70th birthday and it was perfect. The views were breathtaking. Jason was such a great teacher and so patient with us. And his dog joining us was the best. We can't wait for the next adventure!

Overall, we had a great time and loved this experience! No regrets. Jason was prompt, and well prepared with excellent equipment and biking accessories. He was very organized, knowledgable, and gave great tips along the way so that everyone could be successful. The description of the trip on the website isn’t entirely accurate, and granted, the weather definitely changes the conditions (two days of rain prior made for big ruts and muddy conditions). It was not a smooth-flowing trail that was easily navigated by riders with no experience, as advertised. We were thankful that we have experience with road (peddle) bikes, dirt bikes, and motorcycles, otherwise, this would not have been enjoyable. Even with our peddle bike and motorbike experience, this was a challenge and intimidating at times. It was also super fun and thrilling.
To make this experience even better, 15 min or so of prep time before hitting the trail would have been ideal. This would have given Jason time to explain what to expect of the terrain and conditions before we left. Also, time to acclimate to the bike on the pavement before the trail would have been very helpful. Riders need a few minutes to test out the buttons and gears and get the feel of the bike. We have biking experience, but electric mountain bikes were new to us. The instructional time before hitting the trail was way too quick. More of a soft start probably would have allowed Jason to be more patient with us in the beginning. He seemed very pressed for time and irritated by more conservative riders. By 3/4 of the way through he seemed more patient and tolerant of the variety of rider abilities in our group. He seems to prefer more mid-advanced riders. Our group of 6 consisted of ages 16-52 years old; 2 females, 4 males. Perhaps taking inventory of rider’s experience beforehand would help him know his group better so that he could adjust his expectations and teaching accordingly.
Before you go, ask about the terrain conditions and what to wear. Dark clothes/old shoes or biking gear recommended.
We do feel like we could go back today and do it even better now that we’ve done it once and know what to expect. The views were amazing and it was worth it! A challenging adventure even for typical adventurous and athletic families. I would recommend this to friends/family that could handle it.

Jason lived up to all the wonderful comments I had read before booking. He is extremely client focused.......down to having sunglasses for each rider. He was so patient and encouraging throughout the ride and took us thru amazing terrain. The views were unforgettable! Fun, fun day!

I did this ride with my 17 and 15-year-old and we had a great time. It’s incredible how much ground recovered and the E bikes were very easy to learn how to use there were some thrilling downhills yet we felt safe the entire time the views are amazing Would definitely recommend

We actually went on the Santa Monica Trail. It was really fun. Jason and Jasmine were great. We saw wildlife, a beautiful sunset, and beautiful views (but not really of the beach/ocean). We didn’t get to go on the “rollercoaster” hills because it got too dark, but it was still really fun. I highly recommend this EBike experience.

Had a phenomenal first time mountain e-biking. Here for an exec retreat and this was the perfect breakout activity. Our guide Chris was patient, encouraging and since our group was making good time he showed us some bonus trails and lookout points. This is a good workout despite the very powerful motor assist. Bombing the downhills was amazing fun, and these bikes really soak up the bumps well. Would do it again for sure.

The bike brakes broke. The trip was shorten and owner insisted that we pay for the broken brakes. I suspect the bike that was defected when we started. My daughter have minimal injuries until the next day her leg was sprang with multiple bruises and scratches.

We keep all our bikes in best working conditions for every single experience and we do this by thoroughly inspecting them after every rider experience. Unfortunately, your daughter did not use (40% only) braking like she was instructed to use causing the front tire to lock up and thus fall braking the front brake lever on the trail. As her guide, I immediately asked if she was ok and she responded with she was perfectly fine. No abrasions what so ever upon inspecting her only a bit of dust on her clothing and pads. We fit all our riders in the most premium mountain bike gear: elbow pads, knee pads, gloves, and helmets in the event like something like this occurs. We were about 5-10 minutes from our destination when this occurred and as her guide I used my best judgment not to continue further without a front brake lever and the use of front brakes which would further risk not being able to stop the bike properly. Before our departure we go through a very thorough instruction on how to properly ride and use the brakes on the bike. Throughout the entire experience I also remind my riders how to brake and shift the bike for safety purposes. Looking back on the tour, I really feel I couldn’t have been more thorough explaining the braking to your children. The only other thing is had you also been participating the experience with them perhaps you could’ve been there.
As I recommended earlier for you and all your children come back for a (complimentary) Coastal ebike ride which is easier.
We go above and beyond to ensure all our customers are completely satisfied. Please feel free to come back on this complementary experience for you and your children which you can also join them on the experience too.

Jason’s attention to detail was superb! He went above and beyond the call of duty. We had such a great time because of this.
