Overview

Give your feet a break from walking around the hilly streets of Lisbon and take a sunset sightseeing cruise. Very organized trip. Boat very comfortable and staff were amazing. It was relaxing and good value for the cost. I thoroughly enjoyed looking at the sights and of course the sunset. Food was ok and liked the fact that there is bar to purchase drinks . Great to relax with a glass of wine in your hand . I would definitely do it again. I usually travel solo and this trip is ideal for solo’s.

Even though weather was drizzly rain at the beginning of cruise still excellent viewing of Lisbon. No sunset due to clouds but excellent viewing of evening lights in Lisbon.

Staff was great, snacks were good, chairs need to be inspected and some replaced. My husband is of average weight, and the two legs on the right side of his chair collapsed when we hit a big wave. Not used to smoking being allowed outdoors on boats and while dining outdoors so that was a drawback for us when we had 2 people smoking at the same time and one pretty consistently throughout the cruise. I recommend planning to sit indoors right when you board if that bothers you or all the good seats will be gone by the time you come indoors. The audio wasn't playing at the correct monuments with the location/gps turned on. It was also frustrating that you couldn't listen to the audio and take a picture at the same time. When returning to the audio after taking a picture it wouldn't continue where it left off.

A sunset cruise experience

The trip is nice - sunset was a great time to go to see the beauty of the city. Get to the ticket booth and online early for best options for seating up top. We got there at 650pm for what we thought was a 710 departure but luckily turns out that that was the boarding time. The queue by that time was quite long (it was Easter weeks though). With the ticket you get a choice of a small Bottle of red or white wine or a beer or OJ or soft drink. If you want anything more it’s available for purchase. The bartenders were great and very friendly. They do bring out a plate of nuts olives bread and spreadable cheese and amazing dessert. Like everything in Lisbon they move of Portuguese time :). So boarding didn’t start until about 7:20 and we didn’t arrive back to shore yet and it’s 9:14pm. One note plenty of restrooms on board and really nice couches down on the two lowe decks - plenty of seating for all guests - just limited up top. So get there early for your seat choice. Also of note the bar is open right when you board so take advantage before everyone else does.

Better than expected

If you’re looking for a guided tour with a fancy party, this isn’t the trip for you. However, if you are looking for a relaxing trip, some snacks and a beautiful sunset, this was perfect. I read a lot of disappointed reviews, but most of them were, my view, bad timing, bad weather. We had no regrets doing this.

This is a really great cruise. The location is excellent. Prior to the cruise you can sit by the shore and view the sand sculptures created by locals. After the cruise it is easy to select a great place to dine. The subway is walking distance and so are several trams. The cruise itself was amazing. To see the sunset while in the boat is an awesome experience. The drinks and snacks were excellent. The boat itself was very comfortable.

Not worth it during the off season

Our experience was very boring and underwhelming. We did go in January, so that is a big factor. However, the cruise is two hours and it was completely dark by the middle so we were unable to see the attractions. They also closed the windows and doors halfway through which made getting pictures and viewing not good. And the snacks were underwhelming compared to what is advertised. Overall, not a great excursion for the off season.

Really enjoyable sunset cruise, snacks were substantial & decent variety. The ticket says 16.40 but the when you get the tickets at the desk you are told the boat doesn’t leave until 17.00 which is quite a big time difference. You are also told you can download the audio guide when on the boat but there is no WiFi, cruise was still enjoyable despite not having the audio guide as the scenery is enough.

Make sure you go to the booth inside the station before going to the boat! You will need your e-voucher scanned to get your physical ticket. Bring a coat if you are doing this excursion during the winter. The food served is very basic. Slices of cold bread, frozen butter, olives and dessert ( cheesecake) and some peanuts so either plan to eat before or after. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The sunset was amazing. However I would’ve preferred a live tour guide as opposed to having to downloading an App to be able to listen, which took away from the experience. Also the snack was mediocre.

The ferry is ageing and the quality of facility is below expectations. There were no complementary, so it was just moving along the coast and looking at the scenery. A positive point is the sight of Tower of Belem and Monument of Discoveries from the water side.

Not a sunset cruise

It was titled a sunset cruise yet it left after sunset. The wine was terrible, as was the snack, consisting of bread and butter, olives, a small dessert. For the money charged I would not recommend. Wish I had read the comments before booking. Actually think Viator should refund anyone on this sunset cruise as it was not a sunset cruise

It gets a bit chilly out on the water so take a jacket. Lovely cruise. A bit awkward holding a drink and nibbles although the nibbles did come out quite a bit after the drinks. Staff were very pleasant.

Get to the line early if you want to sit on the top open deck which I recommend. Know that the crew does everything they can to chase the sunset and deliver snacks and beverages!

Large comfortable boat. Provided with beer, wine or orange juice, snacks and desserts. Seating outside and inside on both decks. Take a jumper if planning to sit outside as can get a little chilly. Nice landmarks along the coast.

Not worth the money

This trip was disappointing. During the cruise, the landmarks we expected to learn about weren’t highlighted or explained by a guide—we had to try and spot them ourselves. If I hadn’t picked up a leaflet, we would have had no idea what to look out for. The snack provided was average at best, and overall, the experience didn’t feel worth the cost.

If you’re not first in line and not on the roof of the boat, this tour is not worth the money. Seating inside is hot and uncomfortable without the ability to open windows, which were dirty and hard to see through. We were smelling engine gas fumes.

Snacks were stale bread with some peanuts, butter and jam portions. 1 person serving drinks and the wine was terrible. The boat looked very old and shabby but the furniture inside was nice. However the views were amazing.

Good Cruise but nothing spectacular.

Given a small bottle of wine and then bread, olives, cake snacks. All were good. There is no "guided part" or narration. even if there was doubt you would here it as is windy on deck and everyone is talking. you can also remain inside which I am sure was much more comfortable. Boat was nice. Crew was very nice. sunset was over soon after we started. was dark much of the cruise. probably need to adjust times because of the season. Ok way to spend the evening.

Do not recommend, they were extremely late for a time sensitive cruise

Horrible experience. The boat showed up late and we ended up leaving over 30 minutes late which matters when you are taking a sunset cruise. Since they were late we got minimal sunset and almost 2 hours of pitch black 30 minutes in and we just wanted it to end sooner. It was very unorganized and they switched docks on us and we had to go back and forth which caused chaos in the lines. I wouldn’t recommend doing at sunset , just in case they are this late again.

It was an ok sunset cruise. I guess I was expecting more of an amazing sunset not realizing that the terrain gets in the way. The sun was down early on the trip so the cruise gives you views of the city at night.
