If you want a peaceful, secluded, and serene adventure this was the place to be. No water traffic and just being one with your paddle, kayak, and the serene waves of the water. Katrina was also very helpful to get me in and out of the water safely.

Easy, Friendly Kayak Rental with Great Service

We didn’t catch the name of the gentleman who helped us, but he was incredibly kind and welcoming. The kayaks and equipment were already set up right by the water, so the process was quick and easy—we were able to arrive and head straight out. He made sure each of us got safely in and out of the water and shared helpful suggestions on where to paddle and explore. We chose a standard equipment rental this time, but they also offer guided tours. We’re already planning to come back for the skyline and bat tours next time. Highly recommend!

The water look and smell...

The water look and smell like sewage. And we had an issue with booking through the Viator site and the company did not refund my money.

Hi there several weird lies, so first off you tried to only book for one person and tried to get two people out on the water. We explained you had only booked for one person and you asked for a refund and we obliged you despite your mistake and you even lied and promised you were going to book it for two people while on site. We still went ahead and issued your refund on Saturday, but refunds take several business days and you wrote this the day, which is a Saturday, that you tried to lie and scam at our mom and pop shop. You never even went out on the water. Jabarie Lyons you are not welcome back here I can promise you and I hope you do better in the future and learn to lie less.

We do use clip in seats as we store the kayaks and they are fully adjustable on the straps on the side. For future guests, or your future visit, we can show you how to adjust it before you go out or if you buzz us while out we can help then as well. The seats are very easy to adjust without explanation though.

Hey Greg you seemed to really like your trip on the 25th when we spoke to you on site. Sorry you didn't like your experience. We offer a clean up if you want to give back on the first Sunday of every month. Also keep in mind this is a bayou so it is always swampy, muddy water.

Had an amazing first-time kayaking experience at Houston Buffalo Bayou Kayak and Paddleboard Rentals! From the moment i arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming, but the real MVP was Blake. He took the time to thoroughly explain how to kayak, making sure we felt comfortable and confident before heading out on the water. His patience, knowledge, and enthusiasm made a huge difference honestly, if it weren’t for Blake, we might’ve spent more time spinning in circles than actually paddling! The kayaks were in great condition, and the overall experience was fun and relaxing. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the water quality Buffalo Bayou isn’t the cleanest, and the smell in some areas was a little off-putting. But if you can look past that, it’s a fantastic way to see a different side of Houston and enjoy a peaceful paddle. Huge shoutout to Blake for making my first kayaking trip a great one! If you’re a beginner, definitely ask for him he’s the best.

I had fun, the tour guide was very entertaining and engaging with the group. This was my first experience with kayaking and I was impressed on how simple the crew made the process. Houston has many activities for individuals or couples' to enjoy , and the options can be difficult to choose from, but I highly recommend this one. Our tour guy was Blake . we had an amazing experience we will be booking again . It was so much fun . It was my our first time and he taught us how to get inside the boat and how to use the paddle stick he even gave us little cute clear ducks at the end it was amazing .
