I was disappointed with this tour, especially for the price. The tastings included a chocolate croissant, a slice of pizza, one egg roll, a small taco, and ice cream. Most of the food was just basic to average, and the portions definitely didn't feel worth the cost. The ice cream was the only tasty thing for me. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t book this tour again.

Not very good food. To much talking about history of Houston instead of the culture of Houston's food culture.

It was wonderful! Our guide, Lou, was full of stories about Houston’s history while walking between restaurants. Each was a special treat!
You only get 1 bottle of water at the first stop, so you might want to bring water.

Overall good experience! The variety of food and places we went to were fantastic. The birria quesadillas were probably the best thing on the tour. Learned facts about the area as we went along.

What a great experience getting to know my city! Justin was just as he said under the clock with his orange umbrella which I always appreciate about joining a tour. He was very courteous and friendly and made sure we all knew each other's names and location. The stops were great, the food was hot and ready when we sat down and he gave great history as we walked. I did not even notice the distance we walked as he kept the tour moving at a wonderful pace. The food was outstanding and the portions were perfect. We can highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Houston or has been in H Town for years and would like to know more....plus, the food was a 10!

What a beautiful day to do a food tour, our guide, Rosalind was perfect. Food that was served was wonderful, but it would have been appreciated if we had truly tasted the food of Texas! There was no barbeque, chili, tex-mex, pecan pie, cobbler or bluebell ice-cream just to name a few. Other food tours we have done in other States tended to factor in some of the 'local' cusine (for example Boston Creme Pie in Massachusetts , cheese curds in Wisconsin). We went on this tour the weekend of the Houston Rodeo Barbeque Cook-off and we did not get any barbeque, what is wrong with that! Don't get us wrong the food we had was really delicious from local vendors which does support them which we are all for - but it was pizza, new orleans catfish, asian fusion eggrolls, birria tacos and ice cream that was not Blue Bell. Houston is certainly a melting pot of different cultures but for anyone visiting Texas from out of state and wanting to try some of the local cusine that Texas is traditionally known for, we think a little more thought needs to be put into the food choices for the tour guides in order to represent Texas local cuisine. Usually on these food tours we also learn a lot about the history of the cities themselves, it was lacking on this tour unfortunately.

This was a really great walking tour of downtown Houston where we sampled a number of local Houston foods - much of it fusion street food. We had Vietnamese, tex mex, italian, cajun and creole. Violet, our tour guide was great - extremely knowledge about the food and Houston culture/history

Ask before you sign up what restaurants you are going to. Houston has such a great food scene so being dragged from one food hall to another was not representative of what Houston offers. There was also no ordering in advance so one restaurant wasn’t open and we had to wait a long time before others served. The guide was great and did what she could to make it fun with what she had to work with.

Hello. We did the Downtown Houston walking food tour with Rosalind. Rosalind was amazing. She was extremely warm, welcoming, friendly, and personable. We enjoyed spending time with her very much. Rosalind gets a 5 star review! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ However, the actual tour left much to be desired. I have done walking food tours in a few different cities, and they are always filled with a plethora of interesting historical, architectural, cultural, and culinary information. On the Houston tour I was hoping to learn about the history of Houston, how and when the city was established, interesting and important landmarks and features of downtown, etc. Unfortunately there was very little of that type of information provided. Texas is a state so rich with significant history, so I would’ve enjoyed learning about Houston. We did see the park dedicated to the 9/11 victims, which was beautiful. But that was pretty much the only landmark that was shown or discussed. A few murals were pointed out, but very little information was provided. In a city rich with performing and fine arts, I would have loved to learn more about that. The food was delicious and a great variety of samplings, but I would’ve liked to learn more about the restaurants, their histories, their owners, their mark on the city, etc. So while I would love to be able to give the tour 5 stars, I can only give 3 stars until the tour information is expanded. We still enjoyed the day and had a lovely time.

Our tours are built around the food first, because we want guests to really get a taste of the city through its dishes, local spots, and culinary traditions. While we include bits of culture and local highlights along the way, the main story we tell is always through the food. That said, Houston has so much depth, and your thoughts on weaving in more history and arts are helpful as we continue to shape the experience.

Food was excellent, but our tour guide, young slender male did not give us any information about any of the history of the buildings, the food, the ethnicity of different food or anything else. He simply walked us from one location to the next and we were handed food. It was also disorganized and we often had to wait for food. And ask for napkins. And so on.

This was a great way to spend a day in Houston. The tour begin with some history facts before trying a slice of Frank's pizza with cajun influence. We also did brisket egg rolls, birria tacos, a catfish po boy and delicious icecream. We saw great street art, and the bayou and got shown around the post oak. All the food was fantastic and our tour guide Taylor was great. Plenty of food, you won't leave hungry!
