We are visiting from California. It was a very smooth day. The GPS took us right to the parking lot just steps away from the meeting point.
The meeting point is actually a cute store and I ended up buying a hat and glasses ($85) lol. it’s a great place to take pictures and get the whole Houston feel going. They serve specialty coffee and tea. They had a lot of snacks too: fruit cookies chips ice cream drinks (nonalcoholic).
The bus pulled up (very well kept impressive looking double-decker roofless, red bus ) right front of the store a.k.a. the meeting place and we were able to board right away. Everything was right on time and if you’re wondering it’s mostly recorded tour thank God…so the driver can focus on driving.
I think this is a great way to start a trip. That way you can get familiar with the city and make informed notes on places you want go to and experience.
The only non positive thing was the trees were not completely trimmed throughout the route of the bus and I saw the guy in front of me get hit with a branch and he was checking to see if he was bleeding so it must’ve hurt right (lots of ducking our heads after that) but i didn’t let it ruin the vibe.
I especially enjoyed that they not only took us around Downtow but they touched-down on all the other things about the city: the underground tunnels that are climate controlled with access throughout the city buildings and offer drinks and food down there too! it took us to the opposite end of town …maybe that was the north end of town? : show us the train route and how much it cost ($1.25) and the museum parts of Houston. also parts that are not so glamorous. Giving us a 360 view of things. history is always good. it was great for my friend who just moved here 3 months ago. Keep up the good work.
Wish I could post some pictures hopefully viator will add that option soon.
When we arrived to the visitor center office at 11 am in downtown for our 11:30 am tour, the office was closed. A representative opened the door just to tell us that our tour was cancelled due to not completing the minimum of passengers. We were offered to wait until the 1:30 pm tour or get a refund. After 15 min waiting for a refund, we were told the tour has been scheduled for 11:45 am. We did the tour for 1 hour and a half not the 2 hours booked.
Our driver was amazing, I forgot her name. Give her a paid day off!
In your instructions, bring a hat or umbrella to protect from Sun.
My guide was very friendly & informative, and I learned a lot on this tour. It's cool to see the city from the upper deck
A great way to experience the city and get your bearings quickly! The tour takes around 1 hr 20 mins. There are 2 stops that you can get off to explore more and wait for the pick up bus which is around 80 mins later, but we did not do that. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and good at pointing out the sites as we travelled the city. It was good way for us to understand the layout of the City and decide which things we wanted to visit later and spend more time looking at / doing.
Great tour, lots of murals, and a friendly guide. Wear lots of sunscreen if you are sitting on the top!
Had a great time! Loved the driver she made the experience of the city very educational. Just wish they had more shade on the top of the bus. Besides that perfect!
Great information about the city and its history. The guide answered all of our questions. He pointed out important landmarks!
A well paced, insightful, introductory tour of the City. Just the right amount of time. Learned a lot and some very good photo opportunities.
Very Knowledgeable about the city. The driver skills were very safe. I learn more about Houston in this tour ride than any where else.
First time doing a bus tour. It was informative and fun to go trough the city seeing places I have never seen before.
It was hot but my mom and really enjoyed this tour of Houston. We learned quite a bit. Take the tour with Yolanda... she was fun and entertaining!
Pay attention to the tour guide to experience and learn facts about Houston. The tour guide was great
Great tour. Informative and fun. It was amazing seeing all the artwork in various places in the city. Safe drivers and a revealing view of some of the best city murals.
The tour I needed after 30 years in HTOWN. I thought I knew my city but this topped it off. I didn’t even know we had an underground tunnel. We had to explore it after the tour and yes indeed! It exits & it’s amazing! The tour is about 80 minutes and it’s worth every minute. Would do this again!!
Make sure to bring a hat, sunglasses and wear sunscreen for those with sensitive skin. If you sit on the second level, you are completely exposed to the sun and tree branches. Otherwise, great tour, kind staff, and knowledgeable recorded narration on sites.
Tour was as advertised. Worth it. Got a lot of great shots, recommendations for more things to do in the city, and some Houston history.
Great 1.5 hour tour of downtown Houston. Nice way to learn about the city and get your bearings. Yolonda was so great! What a great sense of humor - she really added to the experience!
Great factual information about the city of Houston. Wonderful murals along the tour route. And interesting facts about the architecture.
It was a nice ride through the downtown area of Houston with views of architecture and murals, narrated by the driver and with recordings.
I was pleased that I did this tour. It was very educational. I would have liked the tour to include a little more or uptown. Maybe a drop off at galleria mall
The tour will put a spin on your experience in Houston . The tour exposes you to so much in 1 hrs and 20 minutes.
We enjoyed the tour of Houston. Our guide was informative and fun. Saw a lot in the 90 minutes. Glad we did this tour.
The tour guide and driver were friendly, funny and had great tips about things to do. Great for families or just learning about Houston
Nice and relaxing city tour. Well designed route and excellent guide. Would definitely take it again.
Great experience she took us through Houston and we saw a lot of nice monuments learned a lot about some history. Definitely will do it again.
Low hanging branches. Great tour of Houston on the double decker bus. We were here from Delaware and my cousin from Fort Worth were with us. It gave us a great over view of what we wanted to do and go see in Houston.
Trip cancelled without notification . Waited hours for tour bus that was locked up and no driver ever appeared.
