I booked this sightseeing tour as a special experience for my aunt, and unfortunately, it was nothing like what was advertised.
Based on the description and photos from previous customers, we were expecting a fun, open-air golf cart tour through Houston, with opportunities to explore the city, stop at murals and sculptures, and take memorable pictures along the way. Unfortunately, we didn’t get that experience.
We arrived early and met our tour guide, Marna, who was genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I want to make it clear that my disappointment is not with her personally, but with how the company handled our reservation.
We were informed that none of the golf carts were available because they were being used for another event. Instead of notifying us beforehand, offering to reschedule, or providing a refund, we were expected to complete the entire tour in a regular passenger vehicle.
At 6’5”, I was seated in the back while my aunt sat in the front. Because of the limited visibility, I couldn’t see approximately 80% of the sights being discussed. Additionally, traveling in a car made it difficult to access certain areas or stop conveniently, which completely changed the experience we were expecting.
What was especially disappointing was the lack of photo opportunities. The customer photos advertised people enjoying the city, standing beside murals, sculptures, and landmarks. We didn’t get any of that. The only opportunity we had to stop was near the stadium, where the photo would have essentially been taken outside a gate.
The golf cart experience and photo opportunities were the primary reasons I booked this particular tour. Had I known we would be riding around Houston in a regular car with limited visibility and virtually no opportunities to get out and explore, I would not have purchased it.
I didn’t want to make things uncomfortable during the tour, especially since Marna was doing her best under the circumstances. However, I left feeling extremely disappointed, particularly because this was supposed to be a memorable experience for my aunt.
I understand that scheduling conflicts happen, but customers should be notified when the advertised experience cannot be provided and given the option to reschedule or receive a refund.

It is unfortunate that you felt you did not have a good experience. The tour you booked was the city tour. The guide went out of her way to cover not only downtown but also the midtown area because yes, the tour was conducted in an SUV. The guide offered you the front seat of the car for extended leg room, but you chose to sit in the backseat behind your aunt. There was more leg room behind the driver.
There were multiple opportunities for photos! You asked the guide about stopping for photos and at numerous locations the guide offered to stop. They even stated “This is a photo stop”. However, your aunt responded that she wasn’t a picture taker. You mentioned taking pictures of the murals… THIS was a 2 hour city sightseeing tour where you were shown 10 districts around the city and the history behind them. If you wanted pictures of the murals, then you should have booked the mural tour.
Interesting if you want to see sport areas. Nice to see all the different parks. A little pricey for what you get. Not the golf chart shown

Our city tours show guests 7 unique district areas, one of which includes the basketball, baseball and soccer venues all of which are in close proximity to each other. The tour also includes the convention area with Discovery Green park, our judicial area, historical district and Market Square Park with the 911 memorial, our performing arts facilities, the history and significance behind the Buffalo Bayou, our city government facilities and our oil and gas district. Not sure why you felt like it was only sharing the sports venues….
Robby was great! Showed us all around Houston, giving us the history and back stories. Was funny, engaging, and knowledgeable. We never would have seen Houston without this tour. If you’re coming to Houston you should absolutely do this tour!
It’s a great way to get to know downtown Houston and some history as well. It was a beautiful morning and our guide was engaging.

There is traffic noise during peak hours so listening to the commentary can be difficult. However, our tour guide, Marna Robertson did an excellent job managing that! Knows the city history inside out, he is a living legend of downtown Houston 👍.

You get a great overview of the city. The little car can go where vans cannot, which was great. Our guide knew everything about the city, and was very personable.
The tour operator cancelled 30 minutes prior to tour time after we’d spent $65 on an Uber to get to the meeting point, then had to spend another $65 to get back to hotel. They knew we were travelling in from about an hour outside of Houston city. They said they had to cancel due to heavy rain and flooding & that electric cars can’t go out but when we got there, no rain, no flooding and ground was completely dry. Even travelling into the city there wasn’t any rain either. Sadly, not the best experience as the Uber’s cost more than the tour ticket price that we didn’t even get to do.

It’s unfortunate that management made the decision to cancel your tour. There are weather days in Houston that can be extremely unpredictable. As our carts are open air golf carts, we take the safety and comfort level of our guests , as well as our equipment, very seriously.
Marna showed us around the city and was very knowledgeable and informative. We really enjoyed this tour. Highly recommend
Don't expect what you see in advertisements. Your ride consist of riding around about 4 to 5 blocks downtown, we thought we were seeing muriels, but they said that was a separate tour. Then, "the old oak tree, which was also the linching tree" tour guides statement. Then the Gulf of America, so needless to say, I would never do it again, and advised you to save your money.

Well not all tours are for all people. The vehicles we use are golf carts and Polaris GEMS, not the vans that you stated you saw on our websites. If you looked carefully at the pictures and written text, you will not find vans mentioned. Yes we have a mural tour, but your group booked the sightseeing tour. The tour covers way more than 4-5 city blocks as we discuss the multiple districts, buildings, timelines and, yes, history of the city all in an hour and 15 minute tour. Not sure what you are referring to regarding the Gulf of America, however, rain water from Houston DOES make its way down the bayou to the ship channel to Galveston Bay to the Gulf of America.
We are so sorry that you had an unpleasant experience, but we do pride ourselves in the amazing tours we deliver. I believe the abundance of previous reviews attest to that.
The guide was great. Even though it was a sunny day, I was glad I had brought a jacket as it did get a tad windy in the golf cart.

This tour far exceeded our expectations! It was fun and informative. The host and hostess were superb and sensitive to the needs of my 90 year old mother. :) Since my mom has a hard time walking, this was a great way for her to sit and enjoy the city she once knew well. It was nostalgic and a perfect gift for an elderly Houstonian.

This cart ride through the city was amazing! Our driver Robbie, was so fun, informative, knowledgeable, you could just tell how proud he is of his city. There is so much history in Houston. We can’t wait to come back and visit the places Robbie pointed out!
Marna took us in her flatbed truck as the electric car was under repair. She was very knowledgeable about the sport and community of the city. Unfortunately Huston has NOT preserved its history and money has just build modern stuff over most of it. We did like the street art though.
Marna was very informative as well as accommodating to our schedule and what we wanted to see. This is a great tour and we highly recommend taking it to get an overall feel for the city! She pointed out many restaurants/bars as well as points of interest and history!
