Great tour. Our guide,Tyler, was good and knowledgeable. Good price for an hour and a half tour. And you learn a bit of Galveston history as well.

Avid ghost hunting family here giving this review so it might be harsh because we’ve been on many.
Tyler was our guide, he did okay but the whole experience could have been much better if he 1. Slowed down telling his stories. I’m a fast talker, but whoa he was fast. By the end I quit listening and watched the shadows walking by the windows… that I got on video!
2. If the tour size was smaller y’all would do better in tips and ratings. We had 30-40 people in our group and it makes it hard to connect with your guide when you can barely get to him through the mass group to ask questions.
3. Tyler could brush up on common knowledge about the locations you can easily google. I asked him if the homeowner died in the home. 3 people around me said “great question”. He said yes. I said “how” he responded “natural causes”. I asked which room. He said he didn’t know. Nothing else. He added no color he turned back to his iPad to keep flipping pics.
He left these details out of the entire storyline though for everyone.
In my opinion, adding creepy details and being able to answer general questions are a huge value add to make the tourists feel more connected to the guide and story.
The tour has potential, but when we returned 15min early and he talked super fast and didn’t answer questions I thought.., hmmm did we race back to make the company more money for promo pics with the ghostbusters truck? Or were we just checked off the list as another paid tour tour in the books and on to the next?

Thank you for the thoughtful and honest feedback, we really appreciate you taking the time to share it.
We’re glad you enjoyed the locations and that it’s a family-friendly experience, but you’re absolutely right on some areas we can improve. Pacing, group size, and adding more depth to the stories are all things we’re continuing to work on with our guides, and your examples help a lot.
With 7 different tours running every day, our goal is to make every guest feel engaged and connected. It can be tough for guides to know every detail, especially as we keep adding new stops to keep things fresh, but we know there’s a better balance to hit.
Thanks again for the feedback, it really does help. We hope you’ll give us another shot on a future visit, and enjoy the rest of your time in Galveston.

We had a wonderful experience. We had our granddaughters with us and they got enough “scare” without experiencing nightmares.
My grandparents lived in Galveston and hearing the story of Robert Durst and seeing his house was the best part of the trip Dave knew so much about the 1900 storm that the horror of it became a reality
The question/answer was just enough. Dave continues to educate himself in the mystery of the island and I can imagine that if you repeat the experience (and we probably will) you will learn new facts.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you so much for this thoughtful and heartfelt review! We’re delighted that you and your granddaughters had such a wonderful experience on the Historic Galveston Ghost Tour. Dave truly loves sharing Galveston’s stories — from the mysteries of Robert Durst to the powerful history of the 1900 Storm — and it means so much that his passion came through. We’d love to have you back again soon for another evening of history, hauntings, and new discoveries! 👻🌙

It was hard to understand the guide. He spoke very fast. They should have a handout about what we were seeing
