We were given notepads and pencils and became real detectives on this walking tour of Chicago. We learned about historical facts and people all while sight seeing and solving a fictional mystery. It was great fun.

We weren't able to find a murder mystery dinner but found this tour instead. It was SO much fun and Andre is a wonderful guide. He is very well spoken and gave lots of great information about history, murders, and architecture.

You hear a lot about Chicago history and local stories, all
while visiting neighborhoods in the area. It was interesting and a very pleasant experience.

Good tour of the City. Walking was fine. Chris was a good guide and brought enthusiasm to the mystery. Only knock would be we were the only ones on the tour so we had to read out the characters lines, but was still fun and informative tour into the history of the City and it’s characters.

Great experience, love the personal interaction. Makes you feel like you play a part in the story!!!

This was a unique experience. The "murder" took place in the 1890's(?) and it was a lot of fun trying to figure out who the murderer was. The suspects were from that time period. We were given clues and could interview the suspects to solve the case. HIghly recommend.

We heard about this tour online and tried it out. For the price, it was great information about the city of Chicago. Stories and clues were interesting and was provided by our enthusiastic tour guide Cassandra. Learned a lot from actually walking with her on the ground and hearing the history stories. When in doubt about the right answer, just say it was because of “ The Great Chicago Fire. ”

Cassandra was a great guide! We had lots of fun and learned a lot about Chicago history. Definitely recommend!

This was so much fun for everyone! We learned more history than I expected to in a fun way and saw new spots even though we have all been to Chicago several times.

I surprised my 31 yr old daughter with a trip to Chicago and she loves murder podcasts so this seemed right up her alley. The guide,Andre, made the interactive tour fun with his outgoing personality. It was a small group and we all enjoyed details to solve the case and the extra tidbits about Chicago was great. Expect to be chosen to read some details in helping solve the case - using voices will get a chuckle from Andre lol

If you have a family member who is younger and not much interested in history and architecture, then a little mystery to solve involving actual historical figures will suit the whole family. Plus healthy walking.

Very entertaining mix of the history of Chicago and a murder mystery.
This was a fun way to have a walking tour.
The guide was adaptive and fun, he really made a show out of the adventure and got my family to join in on the fun.
Great tour, would recommend

Super fun small-group way to learn about the city’s history and see some of the Mag Mile and Gold Coast. We took our 9 year old and he had an easy time keeping up with the walking and the history / mystery.

Our family of 4 had a great time with Andre! Our kids were 11 and 13 and were engaged the whole time. Andre made it fun, interesting, and memorable…and we were able to solve the mystery! Yay! We got to see some really neat areas of Chicago that we didn’t see on our own.
Natalie_K, May 2025

Great way to learn about Chicago in an interactive way. The walking tour allowed a view of multiple neighborhoods, the beach, and ended right by the Drake hotel.

The Murder Mystery Tour was a great way to spend an evening. Our guide, Cassie, was entertaining, informative, kept us on schedule, and involved everyone in the group. The walking tour was in an interesting part of the city and we all learned about the scandalsñ of Chicago through real characters in the imaginary murder. She was able to engage the teenagers and encourage them to read their parts in character. The mystery was just complicated enough to keep us guessing and debating until the end of the tour.
We were a group of 17 with both teenagers and older 45+ people.
Advice — wear comfortable shoes. Also, take the bathroom break when offered. We didn’t and regretted our choice later. The evening was cold (for April) and windy so we were glad to be layered up. It would have been good to find a coffee or chocolate place at the end of the tour.
Cassie was so much fun — both the adults and the teenagers had questions for her and she explained the history and modern living with great good humor. This was a great way to spend an evening as well as to learn about scandalous Chicago, both the past and the present.

Our tour guide Andre was very fun and we went to an interesting part of the city. He was knowledgeable and had us back in time in the story he created.
