It’s lots of fun! The tour guides are entertaining and very informative. He knows his stuff! You will be on the streets and on the water. It was our first time to Boston. I’d recommend this way of learning about the city.

Educational and entertaining - I had a great time, even solo. Professor Quackenstein knows everything - and answered most of my questions before I could even ask. And Julia was a fantastic driver/captain!!

This tour was very fun! I didn’t even realize that part of the tour would be on the water. Our guide, Professor Q, was excellent, as was our driver, LJ. The info imparted was so quirky and interesting!

So much fun for our family! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. We all learned a lot and my son was able to go to the front of the boat for a pic. Fun!

Great experience and fun with kids. We did have an issue where we paid for 5 but there wasn’t a seat for one of us. Thankfully I was able to hold our 3 year old BUT getting a refund for the seat we paid for hasn’t happened which is beyond frustrating. I am hoping VIATOR will come through since the DUCK stand could not help since we booked through viator. It would’ve been easier to fix if we had booked through the stand.
Positives: guide was fun, knowledgeable and humorous. Was the perfect amount of time with kids.
Negatives: the duck staff should have managed the no seat thing BEFORE leaving since getting a refund seems to be an issue. We all went but the kids were fighting on top of eacher other the entire time so it was hard to engage with the tour. We let the staff know when we got on and they said to go to the stand after. Which the staff just said they couldn’t help.

This is a great way to see the city of Boston from the historical sites on the streets to the beautiful scenery on the Saint Charles River. Captain Run Amok was very knowledgeable and made the trip a lot of fun. I will do this again when we come back with friends in September.

Solo travelers are sacrificed for those traveling together, also sometimes it was hard to hear tour guide, rushed descriptions of what we were seeing, tried too hard to be funny.
Julie_G, Apr 2026

Amy_E, Apr 2026
This was by far our favorite touristy activity. We had the best tour guide who was funny and incredibly informative, and we had a good mix of learning the rich history of the city as well as famous eateries along the way. When the boat went into the Charles River, both kids had a chance to drive the boat, which was such a memorable experience. Highly recommended, and something everyone passing through Boston should try to do!
Russell_B, Apr 2026
Although a little chilly this morning it was an absolutely great experience. We gained so much historical information on this trip and had a blast.
Nancy_T, Apr 2026
It’s expensive and experience might vary based on guide. Ours spoke very quickly and mixed in a lot of jokes that could be confusing.
DONNA_C, Apr 2026
