Operating Schedule: Tours depart every half hour from Union Station (50 Massachusetts Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002) beginning at 9am until 4pm. Tour operates daily. Shuttle available from Lincoln Memorial to transfer to Arlington National Cemetery for that portion of the tour. Shuttles run every half hour from 9am - 3:30pm

Even though it was a very rainy day, we enjoyed it. Only suggestion would be to make the speakers project voice better. Hard to hear & with rude people talking you really couldn't hear the history.

Guides were excellent as was the tour. For me, the seats were a little uncomfortable with fairly narrow leg-room. That was my only (first-world) complaint!

Drivers were great, very knowledgeable and funny.
Most important, very skillful drivers in all the traffic. Loved riding on the bus, we were lucky to have beautiful weather .
We also used the tram at Arlington Cemetery, and that was wonderful

We have done many hop on/hop off tours over the years and this one in DC was great with the different sites to see but poor with the amount of time we spent waiting and confused. We were at Union Station at 8:45am at the tour desk inside the station and no one was there. We walked outside and around the station to see if there was any information posted and we had to ask someone who I think worked for a cab company where to meet the bus. It was then were were told the tour pick up location had moved the day before to a new location however no one knew where the new location was moved to because there were still no reps from the tour company there. We would have thought that there would be something posted with the new location at the check in area inside the station but there was not. When the tour company reps got there at 9am, they were all VERY nice and VERY apologetic to the growing group of tour takers. Once we got on the bus and started going, it was all very smooth. Shout out to Duke the driver and the African American driver with lots of energy (sorry cannot remember his name)....they were fantastic! One other thing that was irritating, we waited A LONG time for the bus to Arlington Cemetery....like almost an hour which we thought was crazy. However, the bus driver that shuttles from the Korean and Lincoln Memorials area to Arlington Cemetery was amazing. She wasn't clear and where to pick up the bus once the tour to the cemetery was over because it isn't in the same spot where we were dropped off so we were walking around outside where the bus initially dropped us off. She saw us walking around looking lost and she stopped the bus to ask if we needed a ride back. That was so nice of her and she didn't have to do that. We really appreciated all of the employees, they were GREAT. Just wish the communication was a little better.

Drivers / Guides are very knowledgeable however the schedule is a little confusing. We did the Arlington cemetery tour late in the day and then had to take a taxi home since the buses had already stopped running for the day.
One of the drivers did take pity on us and took us back toward our hotel so the taxi cost was lower. Had we known that there would not be a later bus (so we could finish the tour) we would have been able to make a more informed decision.
We are glad we did the cemetery tour but disappointed not to see the second half of the bus tour.

Verify that the stops you want to get off to spend time at are available prior to purchase. Multiple stops we wanted were not available for various reasons including the White House. There is also a pretty good walk to see the Washington monument and then to another stop for pick up.

The waits are far too long. Hire more drivers. We waste half of our day standing in line.
They closed stop 10 by the Lincoln Memorial but the driver dropped us off there anyway!
AND we were waiting outside the National History Museum for a ride back to Union Station - and the bus drove right past!

Make sure you plan your stops where you will get off the trolley in advance so you don’t run out of time. That was our only mistake we made and didn’t get to see experience everything because of that

This tour should be started early in the morning. Also, there was a bike race which caused most of the streets to be closed and was very problematic for the drivers. We had to wait for over 45 minutes just for a trolley due to this road closure. I feel that we should have been warned about this prior to our tour. Not 100% sure that I would do this again.

The shuttle from the Arlington Cemetery tour was 15 minutes late at the end of the tour. The bus driver to take us from Arlington back to the Lincoln Memorial waited for us and let The old Town Trolley people know what was going on. That we would be 10-15 minutes late. He dropped us at Lincoln Memorial at 4:45 and said he wasn't sure if they were going to come and pick us up or not. They did not. We had to walk all the way two union station. I feel like this was a lot of money to be left high and dry at the end. The only reason I gave this 3 stars is because the bus drivers were really nice... But they didn't come back to get us. So, there's that. Since this review won't allow me to answer the question of would I recommend this to a friend. I absolutely would not.

We arrived at stop 14 and watched the trolley bus drive right by. I called and they said they had another bus a few minutes away. Over an hour later a bus finally came. Kind of ruined the whole day. I had my moms with me and they are elderly. Standing around like that their feet hurt and was ready to go back to the room on day one of vacation. After 3 phone calls, finally a bus came with nothing more than I am sorry, I forgot to stop earlier. Then we were til the bus stops running at 4pm and had to be back by then or were would be stranded. So now over an hour late and stranded at 4. We went to Arlington and had a nice time, came back and stopped at the natural history museum , but rushed out of there to catch the bus by 4. Come to time out we have another hour or so, the last bus left stop 1 at 4. Poor service and communication.

The tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend the 21-stop tour which includes arlington. Transfers were smooth and timely. Their driving and being able to hop on and off allows you a stress-free journey. You can focus on the sites and sounds and tak8ng great pics. Best and most cost effective way to tour DC.

You really have to get off several stops in order to experience DC and all it has to offer. We appreciated the "little know facts" about what the driver/tour guide had told us. He was knowledgeable, funny and likeable. You can tell he likes to come to work everyday!

Trolly driver was very informative. Nice to see the sites at our own pace. Great if you don't want to drive in traffic and worry about parking.
