Admission to the Bunker Hill Monument and Museum is free. Climbers, however, are limited to 25 at a time for safety reasons. The Bunker Hill Monument is on many guided tours of Boston. Expect to pay at least US$30 for a small-group half-day tour that visits top landmarks.

In summer (June 11–September 1), the monument is open Tuesday–Sunday, 10am–5pm. In winter (October 14–May 23), it’s open Wednesday–Sunday, 1–4pm. Otherwise, it’s open Wednesday–Sunday, 10am–5pm. Holiday hours vary. The museum operates roughly similar hours, except it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in summer and open until 4:30pm in winter.

No, there’s no visitor parking at the Bunker Hill Monument. However, if you’re traveling by car, you can park nearby and walk. The nearest parking garage is the Nautica Parking Garage near the Charlestown Navy Yard and Visitor Center, about a 10- to 15- minute walk from the monument.

Best tour of the Freedom Trail!

This was an incredibly informative and well-paced tour of the Freedom Trail. It starts at the Old State House and ends at the USS Constitution. My 15-year-old thoroughly enjoyed all the history that was presented. Mark is a terrific guide, and I appreciated the inclusion of women's contributions. I highly recommend this tour!
