App was very easy to use and directions were very clear and map easy to follow. Also, I could do all at my own pace and take a break whenever I wanted. The audio did not always start automatically, but was very easy to do manually.

Great narration throughout the tour. The tour tracked our location using GPS and automatically started the narration as we approached different stops. Pro Tip: For two people, just buy one tour and each of you can wear an earbud for the tour...two for one!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Chris, I’m really glad you enjoyed the storytelling in my Boston Freedom Trail Self-Guided Tour with Audio Narration & Map and that the GPS-triggered narration worked smoothly as you walked between the stops. Your tip about sharing the audio with earbuds is a great idea—since the tour is purchased per device, it makes it easy for two people to enjoy it together. Loved this audio tour! Way better than a guided tour. Guided tours I have been on in the past it has been hard to hear even with an ear piece so this way so nice! I learned so much and it was nice to be able to stop for lunch when we wanted to or any shops we had wanted to go to.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Haley, I’m so glad to hear you loved my Boston Freedom Trail Self-Guided Audio Tour. It’s wonderful that you enjoyed the flexibility to explore, shop, and have lunch at your own pace while still learning a lot along the way. I’m pleased the audio made the experience clearer and more comfortable than a traditional guided tour. Thanks for sharing your experience. Easy to use when downloaded on phone
Good information about stops on the trail
Easy to hear and understand narrator
Did the trail on a Saturday - very heavy foot and motor traffic.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Diana, I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed my Boston Freedom Trail Self-Guided Tour with Audio Tour. I’m thrilled that the information about the stops was helpful and that the narration was clear and easy to understand. I can imagine that the heavy foot and motor traffic on a Saturday made it a bit challenging, but I’m glad you still had a great experience. Barbara_F, Oct 2025
Parking hard to find. Tour is east to follow. Self guided option is informative and easy to follow. Lots of walking
Response from Host, Oct 2025

Charlene_H, Aug 2025
Excellent! Almost perfect! Thé narration was informative and engaging. It was easy to navigate. The only problem was that I didn’t realize it was a 45 minute walk back to the beginning, where I parked my car, AFTER I’d walked 5 miles. I was sooooo sore!!
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Charlene, I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed my Boston Freedom Trail audio tour and found the narration informative and engaging. It’s great that the app was easy to navigate. I understand entirely how that 45-minute walk back could have been a bit much after the 5-mile trek—thanks for sharing that tip. To avoid the long walk back, you can hop on the Orange Line subway at Community College Station near Bunker Hill and ride it straight to Park Street Station, right next to Boston Common. It’s a quick and easy way to return to your starting point. If you're up for more history, check out my Massachusetts Self-Guided Driving and Walking Tours Bundle, which includes tours like Salem & the Witch Trials, Cape Cod, and more—perfect for exploring at your own pace!
Gregg_P, Jul 2025
Better be prepared to walk closer to 4 to 5 hours. Nice tour. We ended up doing it over two days and taking a Lyft back. Summer heat.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Greg, I’m glad to hear you enjoyed my Boston Freedom Trail audio tour. The best part is that you can spend as much time as you want, going at your own pace. You can decide how to split the tour and take breaks whenever you like, as the tour is valid for a year after booking. If you're up for more history, check out my Massachusetts Self-Guided Driving and Walking Tours Bundle, which includes tours like Salem & the Witch Trials, Cape Cod, and more—perfect for exploring at your own pace!

Victor_N, May 2025
I really enjoyed the tour that I could hear! However, I have an auditory processing disorder which causes me to focus in on audio changes and breakages - so when the tour guide would go from sounding like a man, to a chipmunk, or would have consistent crackling in my headphones that would not go away no matter how many times i reset my phone, headphones, disconnected and reconnected, restarted the app, anything- I really struggled to fully appreciate the tour. I also have a tendency to walk fast, so several times throughout the tour the previous line would be cut off by the geo location overriding which was unfortunate as I really enjoyed a lot of the stories. 7/10 Overall
Response from Host, May 2025
Victor, I’m really glad you enjoyed the historical content, but I’m sorry to hear the audio issues got in the way. The sound distortions and interruptions you described aren’t typical, and I’d love to understand more so I can look into what went wrong. If you could let me know which parts of the tour had audio changes or cutoffs, I’ll do my best to troubleshoot or improve them for future updates. Appreciate your insights—it helps us make the experience better.

Janet_D, Oct 2024
I cannot provide a 5 star rating because we were not provided maps nor were we provided headphones like the picture shows. We were told to use an app on our phones which would begin playing a recording about the attraction as soon as we entered the geofence. If we didn't all walk into the geofence at the exact same time, the recording didn't sync to everyone we were standing next too. I would not recommend. Instead, just buy a map, read about each stop and save yourself $10 a person.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
Janet, it looks like there was some confusion with the listing. Right after purchase, you should have received an email titled "Your Tour Operator Sent a Message," which contains instructions on accessing the map and stops in the app. I've clearly stated that this is a self-guided audio tour, so headphones and a power bank would be necessary. I understand the mix-up and am happy to accept a refund request if you reach out. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions!
Jordy_N, Sept 2024
This tour works great. It was very easy to use and follow and enriched our Freedom Trail experience. The Freedom Trail itself is extremely easy to follow as the train is marked on the ground. This tour was definitely better than using the public tours containing 60 people! We downloaded it on one phone prior to our visit and each used an earbud.
Response from Host, Sept 2024
Jordy, I'm thrilled to hear my Boston Freedom Trail Self-Guided Tour enhanced your experience. It’s great that you found it easy to use and a better option than larger group tours. Laberta_C, Jul 2024
We arrived 15 minutes after closing so had to wing it. We had no idea where to start or where to go; lost our money and a chance to enjoy an experience
Response from Host, Jul 2024
Laberta, there are no opening/closing/starting times to my Boston Freedom Trail Self-Guided Tour — that’s one of the great things about my tour guide app — it’s totally flexible! Give it another try — the tour is still valid!
Barbara_W, Jun 2024
This audio tour with a map is just the thing to do if you want an independent tour of Boston’s Freedom Trail. The descriptions of the sites as well as the history lessons given are wonderful. The map is easy to follow and the GPS embedded in the app prompts the reader to start again with commentary once you reach the next highlight. The trip takes about 6hours, more if you go into some of the buildings.
I would highly recommend this trip. Make sure you download the app before starting out.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
The audio tour was your perfect Freedom Trail companion, Barbara! Want to explore more of the East Coast at your own pace? Check out my East Coast USA Bundle—Acadia National Park, charming Charleston, and many historical sites await!
Barbie_F, Jun 2024
I wish the tour was good for 24 hours. I wasn't able to finish as there were tornado warnings and I chose to seek shelter
Response from Host, Jun 2024
Those tornado warnings sound scary, Barbie! Understandably, you had to cut your tour short. Here's the good news: our self-guided tours are valid for a whole year! That means you can finish the Freedom Trail at your own pace whenever the weather clears up. Plus, you can listen to all the stories again from your home - it's like a virtual history adventure!
Deborah_W, Jun 2024
I love the info given on the tour. History is awesome and this made it even more enjoyable. I would recommend to anyone. I'd also suggest doing it on the weekend when the work crowd is not around.

I had phone trouble only a short time after starting. My screen went out. After getting it replaced, we completed the tour - but in reverse, since we had walked the Trail already. No issues with the tour or GPS. Good information.
Response from Host, Sept 2023
Linda, I'm thrilled you found the information on my Boston Freedom Trail Audio Tour intriguing, even with the unexpected phone troubles you faced! Your adaptability to complete the tour in reverse is commendable. I'm glad to know the GPS worked seamlessly for you. Evan_M, Aug 2023
This was a good audio tour of the freedom trail. The information was good and we enjoyed having the map. The automatic GPS location features didn’t work exactly, so we had to constantly keep an ion it to make sure we were listening to the right things at the right time, but overall it went OK. For someone who doesn’t like to use the phone much, keep in mind you’ll need to figure out how to use the app and it won’t automatically play the experiences when you get to the location all the time. Overall, we really enjoyed it.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Thank you for your feedback, Evan! I'm glad you found my Freedom Trail Audio Tour information insightful and that the accompanying map was beneficial. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the GPS location feature. Ron_B, Jul 2023
Never got the narration to work. We were trying to start in the middle of the trail and after paying our money the site implied we had to start at either end. So we walked to the Boston commons and tried again. Still no narration. Very frustrated.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
I apologize that you were unable to access the narration and did not receive the guidance you were expecting, Ron! Our support team is here to help with any technical difficulties or questions you may have. They are available from 5 AM to 5 PM EST and can assist with troubleshooting any issues, such as Bluetooth connectivity.
The tour you have purchased will never expire, so you can listen to it at home or on your next visit. Please let me know if you require any assistance.
Bill_H, Jun 2023
Your was good. Progress was good. Unless we made a mistake it doesn’t loop back to the start point. Not a good idea! USS Constitution was best part. Also enjoyed the history/stories in cemeteries.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Thank you for your review Bill! I'm happy to hear that you had a great time on the tour! It's great to know that you found the USS Constitution and the historical stories in the cemeteries particularly interesting. We appreciate your feedback about the loop back to the starting point as we understand how inconvenient it can be if the tour doesn't guide you back to the beginning. Rest assured, we'll take note of your suggestion and make sure that the next version of the tour provides a seamless experience for all users.
JeanMarie_S, May 2023
The app did not work as advertised and required constant fiddling with. This prevented enjoyment of the experience as I had to keep my phone out and my glasses available. I would not recommend this experience.
Response from Host, May 2023
Hi Jean, I’d love to understand your experience better. The app works automatically (the audio plays based on location). Since that’s not what you experienced, I’d like to know more!
Will_m, Mar 2023
WAlk at your own pace. Stay at each as long, or little as you want. We enjoyed the tour very much. tremendous value for the money thanks
