Liz provided a great narration while the ship was sailing, and the crew was so welcoming as we boarded.. The two young men who took photos, which were available for purchase after the cruise, were friendly and helpful. Sitting on the deck of the ship in the sunshine, surrounded by fresh air and a gentle breeze, was incredibly relaxing. My family and I enjoyed this tour very much, and we highly recommend it.

Quick and fun tour

Gerald_C, Aug 2026
Great way to see Boston Harbor in an hour.Emily was a fun and interesting tour guide. The boat was clean and comfortable .

Could be a little longer but good overall.

Robert_G, Aug 2026
Fairly good viewing experience. Tour guide was very good and could answer almost any question regarding Boston area. Whole thing only takes an hour (+/- a couple minutes). Because of schedule conflicts, we were unable to join the sunset cruise which is about 1/2 hour longer and a couple of bucks more.

Poor communication

Robert_L, Aug 2026
If you are 5minutes late you are screwed. We hit road construction and got there late even after alotting an extra hour (coming from CT). We asked the girl at the ticket booth if we could do a later one but because we used viator we had to contact them. Initiated a chat with viator who said they couldn’t get ahold of the vendor and that they’d send an email. I called the vendor an hour later and spoke to a live person (after a 20 minute wait) and she said there was no email. I called viator and got a live person who said there was nothing we could do so I asked for a refund. An hour of my time wasted standing at the peer. Refund denied. Super poor communication between viator and the vendor. Beware using a third party (viator)! Zero communication skills.

When I viewed the tour online, there was a picture of a tall ship in the harbor&the title of the tour was something like tour of historic harbor. So I thought that the tour would actually be on a tall ship.I was somewhat disappointed that the tour was actually on a small ferry. However, the tour itself was very interesting

Nice trip around the harbor with a bit more emphasis on the airport than needed. Overall some new facts which as a resident of Boston was great to learn.

Tour guide was informative but boat was packed and had to sit on inside where we couldn’t see much or take pictures.

Great informative tour around the harbor

Cheryl_B, Aug 2026
Never been to boston before and wanted a boat ride around the harbor while also learning a little about what we were seeing. This cruise was perfect for that. The guide gave so much good info and history about the city, architecture and what we were looking at it was great. You can get up and walk around the boat to take pictures or stay seated with the seats facing where the guide is referring. Nice tour length too at 1 hr. Not too short not too long. Perfect if you have other things to do that day. Definitely worth the price

10/10 5/5 so much fun!

My husband and I had an amazing time on this tour of Boston! The views were amazing and our guide Mike C. kept us intrigued and entertained. Highly recommend if you visit Boston

Great trip! Really enjoyed it.

Kim_H, Aug 2026
This was a very relaxing and very interesting ride! I was not expecting to enjoy it and learn as much as I did about the history of the harbor. Highly recommend!

Pros and cons

Susan_K, Aug 2026
Interesting facts presented. One hour was the perfect length for the tour. Enclosed area of the boat could use an update. Exhaust from the motor was unpleasant at times

Well worth it

Gina_L, Aug 2026
We had a fun time. Kevin the narrator did an amazing job. Get in line early, the top deck has the best views.

This was a great first date idea if you’re getting set up by parents. I wasn’t sure what to do, so I took the acquaintance to this. He seemed to have enjoyed the history.

Picture was misleading when booking, but we enjoyed once we got past this.

Laney_T, Aug 2026
The picture for the boat I thought I had booked was completely different than the boat when we got there. Once I got past the fact we had close to 300 on a boat when I was expecting a lot less (I think this is Viator’s issue), we did enjoy it. If you go - get there early. Again, not what we were expecting so there was not any outdoor seating left so we were left to either stand outside or set inside which was warm and a little janky.

Great tour with an even better tour guide!

Katy_L, Jul 2026
This was a great tour! I was pleasantly surprised by the indepth information covered and how much I learned on this tour. I would say the highlight of the tour is the actual tour guide, Kevin, who has a great voice and explains things in an understandable manner. Our friends who live in Boston area even enjoyed the tour a ton and were glad they came with us!

Relaxing

Karen_C, Jul 2026
The harbor cruise was educational and relaxing. You could tell that the guide loves her job. Very energetic.

Well worth the time and money!

Charlene_B, Jul 2026
Fantastic! Our tour guide, Liz, was wonderful. Her knowledge of Boston’s history was spot on and her delivery was entertaining. We sat on the upper deck closest to the rail facing the right side. Our views of Boston and the harbor were breathtaking. I highly recommend this tour.

Boat left on time. The narrator was informative and comical at the same time. Even though we go to Boston often, narrator mentioned a few items we didn’t know. Plenty of seating inside & outside boat.

Bring a hat! Fun cruise

Karen_C, Jul 2026
Bring a hat to protect from the sun! Nice cruise - just the right amount of time for a little history of Boston.

Bridget_F, Jul 2026
Great way yo wrap a trip to Boston. Boat was comfortable and guide was excellent. Fun and informative tour.

Boring starboard cruise

Sam_M, Jul 2026
The entire tour references only what is to the starboard side/right side of the boat. All information is very rudimentary. If you want to see anything being referenced, sit on the right side. This tour is overpriced and boring. I would suggest looking into a different company for a harbor cruise tour if you can.

Loved it

tmkz, Jul 2026
It was a great experience and history lesson. I will definitely do it again if I'm in Boston with my family or friends.

Terrible

Jasmine_C, Jul 2026
I booked a boat ride at 4:10 PM for a 5:00 PM departure, less than an hour before the activity. When I arrived at the dock, I was directed to the wrong boat and ended up boarding the ferry instead. It was an unfortunate mistake, but I contacted Viator immediately to explain what had happened. Unfortunately, Viator was unable to offer me another boat ride or provide a refund. Since then, I have called multiple times and have repeatedly been told that my case would be escalated. However, I have never received the promised follow-up email or phone call. What has been most disappointing is not just the outcome, but the lack of communication and customer support after the incident. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend booking through Viator.

Tour guide speaker was...

Thomas_D, Jul 2026
Tour guide speaker was great! Weather was perfect. Easy to get to on the wharf. Grab a pint at dock bar beforehand.

Dismissive employee

Lynn_S, Jul 2026
The cruise was good. There was an employee (male) who not only not engaged with passengers that were arriving but was dismissive and seemed inconvenienced when I asked a question. Everyone else was very attentive to their passengers
