Look out across the neon lights of the Las Vegas Strip or let your gaze drift to the rugged desert landscape beyond, and it’s clear that Las Vegas has a way of dazzling from every direction. From the highest points of the STRAT Tower to the sweeping natural vistas at Red Rock Canyon, several locations offer more than just a glimpse of the city—they provide vantage points that make you appreciate Vegas in a whole new way.

Each spot, whether a rooftop lounge, a quiet desert trail, or a hidden gem, has something special that’s worth your attention, inviting you to see the city and beyond in a fresh light. Here are the top spots from which to experience the best views in Las Vegas.

Head to the Stratosphere Observation Deck for spectacular 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Valley.

As the tallest free-standing observation tower in the US, the Stratosphere Tower (now called The STRAT) remains the king of Vegas viewpoints. The 1,149-foot (350-meter) tower offers an experience that’s part sightseeing, part adrenaline rush, with sweeping, unobstructed views across the Las Vegas Valley and far into the surrounding desert.

Feeling daring? Try one of the thrill rides perched at the top, which lets you dangle over the edge or launch skyward for an extra boost of excitement. There’s also a glass-walled indoor observation deck for a more relaxed view.

2. High Roller at the LINQ

The High Roller at the LINQ is the highest observation wheel in the world.

Speaking of views, the High Roller Observation Wheel is in and of itself a defining feature on the Las Vegas skyline. Located right on the Strip, this massive observation wheel offers a comfortable 30-minute ride in spacious, glass-enclosed cabins that slowly lift you high above the city.

Situated next to the LINQ Promenade’s shops and restaurants, it’s a perfect stop to pair with a stroll through the area’s lively outdoor mall. As you ascend, floor-to-ceiling windows reveal panoramic views of the Strip, the desert, and distant mountains. If you want to add a little more flair, upgrade to a happy half-hour cabin, complete with an open bar.

Located on the 64th floor, this sleek, upscale lounge offers floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor patio where you can enjoy an incredible panorama of the city’s famous lights from above.

Pair the views with a crafted cocktail and settle in to watch the skyline come alive as day turns to night. While there’s no bad time to visit, arriving around sunset lets you see the Strip bathed in golden light before the neon glow takes over.

Perched 460 feet (140 meters) above the Strip, this half-scale replica offers a romantic spot to take in the city’s glittering lights and landmarks.

From this vantage point, you can watch the Fountains of Bellagio dance across the street, see the full stretch of the Strip, and spot other famous resorts. Day or night, the Eiffel Tower deck is a fun, memorable way to enjoy the Vegas skyline—without ever leaving the Strip.

The Red Rock Canyon offers a stunning contrast to the Strip’s neon lights.

For an escape into nature just outside the city, a hike in Red Rock Canyon lands on most Las Vegas travel guides. This scenic area, about a 30-minute drive from the Strip, boasts vibrant red sandstone cliffs and sprawling canyons that create a stunning contrast to the city’s neon lights. The main attraction is the 13-mile (21-kilometer) scenic drive, with overlooks and trailheads offering panoramic views of the Mojave Desert and its rugged, sunlit terrain.

For the top places to take photos, hike the Calico Tanks Trail or Turtlehead Peak for high vantage points, or opt for a quieter stroll along the Red Spring boardwalk. A Red Rock Canyon helicopter tour is also a must-do for incredible desert views near the city.

Hiking trails such as the Mary Jane Falls Trail provide sweeping views of the surrounding valleys, while quieter spots including the Fletcher Viewpoint offer panoramic vistas of the Las Vegas Valley below. Private small group tours are available, offering transport to and from the Strip.
