Fantastic tour with a wonderful guide
Our guide was wonderful- so informative and a great storyteller. He gave us an appreciation of the rich history of Lisbon and of Portugal overall. The small details he pointed out as we walked the Alfama neighborhood made the tour very enjoyable - we would highly recommend this tour as a great introduction to the area.

English walking tour
Lots of walking, about 10,000 steps. Our guide was Maggie, she was amazing. Excellent English, so knowledgeable. We were the only two on the tour so she adapted the route so we would end at our hotel, we so appreciated that.

Must do as First Activity in Lisbon
Very informative, our guide Kleiber had a lot of useful information and tips. Was also very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of history, provided a list of recommendations for places to go to, shop and eat. Definitely worth it and recommend doing this as a first activity.

Great overview of history of Lisbon and Portugal
Great way to get a feel for one of the oldest parts of Lisbon. Our guide did a great job not just pointing out some notable sites, but also giving a helpful and informative overview of the history of Lisbon, and of Portugal. We also stopped at some lovely overlook points. We didn't really end up where the description suggested we would, so keep that in mind if you're planning to meet up with someone afterwards. The guides work for tips, so bring some cash. We're glad we did it!

Lisbon
Alfama district of Lisbon with steep cobblestone lanes and a sea of terracotta roofs.
  • Wear comfortable shoes, as steep sidewalks and cobblestone lanes are the norm in the Alfama district.

  • Getting around Alfama can be tricky for wheelchair users, so it’s best to book a taxi or join a tour.
