This tour will cover much of the island, its history, and historic sites. I will play a 45-minute documentary giving you an good introduction as we drive to Galveston on our drip-down movie screens. This is a mostly driving tour that also incorporates about 1 hour to walk and shop along the historic Strand Street. We will have other stops for photo taking. Galveston was the largest city in Texas in 1870 and 1880 and was the wealthiest city as well until the 1900 Great Storm. The Great Storm was a monster hurricane that killed at least 6,000 people on September 8th. We had a wonderful experience with our Sightseeing Tour of Houston this weekend. Allen, our tour guide was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and gave us an excellent tour of the city. He was very engaging and patient and described in great detail the history of the city during every step of the tour. He was a good storyteller! He was punctual in picking us up. Light snacks and water were provided.. The AC van was tidy and spotless. Highly recommend the tour!

Great tour with stops in different bars. I liked how each bar had a different vibe. David was very knowledgeable about local history. We enjoyed the tour very much. Stories of the ghosts were very cool and he even had photographic evidence to back the stories up.
