It takes a while to get to everything, but even if you don’t get to everything(I didn’t) the trip and experience is worth it. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable . I was greatly inspired by the space movies, especially the astronauts sharing their perspectives. Tram tours are great for getting around.

We really enjoyed the excursion. the tour started in the downtown area of the Houston city. The narrator was very knowledgeable of the downtown area. We have been living in the city for almost a quarter century and did not know the saliant features of the downtown Houston.

Itinerary

Make your way to the pickup point in downtown Houston and climb aboard a double-decker, open-top bus for a sightseeing tour of the vibrant city. Cruise past landmarks including City Hall, Graffiti Park, Discovery Green Park, and Minute Maid Park while listening to illuminating audio commentary.

Next, transfer to a comfortable coach and travel to Space Center Houston. Hear about how astronauts and scientists plan most of the rocket launches and programs for NASA at this incredible location, then climb aboard a tram for a tour of the Johnson Space Center.

During the tour, watch NASA staff at work, see old and new Mission Control centers, and be amazed by the Saturn V Rocket, the most powerful rocket ever built. Enjoy some leisurely free time to explore the exhibits in the Space Center Houston, opting to see Apollo 17 and a full-size replica of a space shuttle.

At a time prearranged with your guide, return to your comfortable vehicle for the journey back to downtown Houston, where the tour concludes.

Expected advance reservations on tram trips - instead only one trip was still available at space center. Also need to realize that tram trips are outside so be prepared for weather.

NASA was too crowded and the 4 hrs is just not enough. The Houston bus tour in the morning was good. The driver/ host was informative and enthusiastic.

Costly and Untimely Communication

Didn’t get to go ! We understood if not enough numbers tour gets cancelled but thought it may have been better to let us know the night before when they knew we were the only two going, especially when we arrived for our tour 30 mins before and to be told they needed a minimum of 6 people which we understand but we had replied to their seperate reminder email the night before inferring to be ready to arrive on time etc ?! Otherwise we would not have wasted money on a substantial taxi fare ! Not overly impressed too to be told that around Christmas not many tours go ahead. Recommend better and more timely communication as if we had known the night before that they was only us two booked, we were old have understood organiser cancelling !

The transport to Johnson Space Center was good the pick up location was handy and the driver was helpful and courteous. He made sure we were safe . The lady that checked us in made sure we knew where to go to get on the trams and other space center experiences. Personally I can’t walk for the 4 hours spent in the center but there was enough to keep me interested.

It was a wonderful experience, just a shame that we had an electrical storm on the day so our tours at the venue were re-scheduled and sadly we missed out on two of them. We had no idea the the tours were weather related so just a heads up if it looks like lightening then be prepared to maybe miss out on tours at Nasa...

The tour is fantastic and Ben has a great energy. We don't recommend doing NASA and city tour at the same day. We ended missing shows and tours at the NASA because they picked us earlier. You will need a whole day just for NASA

It did not meet the expectation. There was no guide at NASA at all, and they just drop me off at the gate. No information for the tour. Had to wait more than 20 minutes at the outside for pickup with 100 degrees, exhausted.

Tours inside are self-guided, with the option of tours by NASA, which are conducted internally by space center personnel. Two tram tours are available, and complete information is given to you at check-in, along with a schedule, maps, and orientation. On our part, we provided service on time and schedule. Weather conditions are out of our control. Was great to serving you.

Unorganized Trip Resulted in Missed Experience

The trip was not organized properly. It was a Saturday, and they should have known there would be a rush. However, they scheduled the city tour first and only dropped us at NASA by 11:30 AM. By then, all the tram tours were fully booked, and there was no availability for the rest of the day. It ended up being a complete waste of a trip for us. We had to pay out of our own pocket and visit again the next day. I strongly feel that we should be refunded for the poorly planned experience.

Lost $200 USD booked but needed to change date. Very poor response from Viator and No real response from operator. Only time I have ever asked for support and no support. I will NEVER use Viator or Houston City tours again. Recommend you don’t either.

We did not get to the center until afternoon and only had two available tours--the Astronaut Training Facility and the campus tour. The campus tour was somewhat of a repeat of the same ride from the training tour. Probably if you want to do more than two tours, you'd need to do only that and not combine the space center with the city tour.

This was a great experience and I'd definitely recommend it if you're visiting solo or as a small group. The space centre is really fair from downtown Houston and would have cost me about $50 in a taxi each way so I was looking for a more cost effective way of visiting. This trip was great value, included an open top bus tour of the city which was great, saw lots of street art and learned some history. Then they took us in a small van to the space centre where we had 4 hours to explore. This was plenty of time to do most things, make sure to go and do your tram tours first. The day I visited there was a talk on from astronaut Mike foreman which was great, I'd definitely recommend checking it out if there are talks during your visit.
