Excellent hike with excellent guides!

This was an excellent tour that involved so much more than we thought! They immediately pointed out monkeys and some rare bats before leaving the property, then went to a butterfly sanctuary in the same area. After that, we went to the waterfall and spent an hour in the water relaxing before climbing back out (lots of stairs) and heading to a presentation for an indigenous tribe to learn about their past way of life, living off the land in that part of Costa Rica. It was very interesting and we were able to buy some of their handmade products. Then we got into the shuttles to drive to the trailhead for the Arenal Volcano tour. That area was beautiful and the hike wasn't that hard for those who are fit. We did climb up over rocky terrain but it wasn't that difficult and wasn't that long of a hike. We got some amazing photos and were lucky to be able to be there on a clear day! A typical CR buffet lunch came after the hike, where we had an hour to sit and relax and visit with other tour members, so that was nice. Then we went to a local hot springs for the last hour+ of the trip where our guide Franklin made rum drinks for anyone who wanted them. The hot springs were a public space and fairly crowded, but still fun and relaxing. Franklin was an excellent guide; funny and informative, and always looking out for everyone. Both he and Errol, another guide who led us on parts of our hike (we were split into two groups for ease of communication), made our comfort and happiness on the tour a priority. As I said, it was a great tour and we were happy we chose this one. It included many things that we didn't expect but was also very relaxing. For people who are usually very sedentary, this tour might be difficult, but if you're slightly fit, it should be an easy one.

Our guide, Roche (yes, like Ferrero!), was simply outstanding, his knowledge, storytelling, and attention to detail were on another level. He didn’t just explain history; he brought it to life in a way that made you feel like you were truly part of the era. What really made the difference was doing the tour in Spanish. It allowed for a depth of understanding and nuance that would be impossible to fully grasp in another language. The richness of the explanations, the cultural context, and the subtle details made the entire experience even more powerful and memorable. Roche kept us engaged the entire time, it honestly felt like watching a great movie unfold in real life. This wasn’t just a tour; it was an immersive experience. 1000 points—highly, highly recommended!

Our tour guide was exceptional!!

This tour is worth the money! It is one thing to walk into a museum and look and another to have the experience with someone knowledgable ad what you are looking at and it ask questions. Our tour guide, Margaret, was awesome. She was a wealth of knowledge and navigated our group through the crowds like a champ. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We highly recommend it.

Simply espectacular!

Valentina was our tour guide. I was impressed of the knowledge she has in history and art and the passion she gives when explaining everything to us. She was excellent ! Her sense of humor made our tour so pleasant! I would only say it would be better if she carry the stock with a flag or something to know where she was at all time. Some people in the group was slow walkers and I was afraid they were gonna get lost walking between so many people around and not see her or the rest of the group. But overall I totally recommend Valentina and the tour!

Highly recommended whilst in La Fortuna

We had a great time zip lining. Our tour guides Ronnie & Alan were extremely friendly and funny. It wasn't our first time but they made us feel comfortable. The scenery is stunning. We did the 12 zip line and it requires a lot of initial steep walking, but definitely worth the view once you get to the top.

Terrific canyoning experience! (Fix metal bolts sticking out of rock.)

It was great. I loved the combination of zipline, rappelling, and bouldering that we got to do. The guides were very professional and we felt safe and cared for. I had two pieces of feedback for the company. 1. There was one small rappelling drop where we needed to rappel down a boulder that had two very large metal bolts sticking straight out of the rock. As I watched everyone rappel down it each person had to try very carefully not to scrape their legs on the metal bolts/screws right there. It seems like an accident waiting to happen so I put this feedback here so that something can be done to improve the safety of that particular rappelling drop. 2, I think they could offer the activity without the large lunch right before. The food was delicious but we were served a large buffet and then immediately loaded into a tractor for a 20 minute bumpy ride to the canyoning location so it might have been better to eat a little less beforehand.

It was a very fun boat ride with an amazing view of the sunset at the end, attentive crew, delicious cocktails and good company! They provided an amazing catered lunch of tender chicken, rice, beans, salad, and roasted veggies. Their selection of music was also very nice to have with something for everyone. Would recommend to anyone looking to have a good time, meet some fellow travelers, and get the full Tamarindo experience!
