This was an amazing tour! We got to try a bunch of local fruit (delicious), sugar can, coffee and chocolate. Our guide was incredible. We learned so much. My 8 year-old daughter stayed engaged the whole time. I would 100% recommend this tour!

Last but not least lovely chocolates and coffee

An informative and fun tour of a small cacao farm. Highly recommend over larger farm tours. Our guide, Josue, shared every aspect of his family’s farming experience.

This was a small farm tour that was so personal and enjoyable. Brian our guide was very informative. We tasted so many different things including delicious fruits, coffee, and cocoa beans. You won't get a more personal hands on tour.

Phenomenal tour with Daniel for our family of 5 (13, 11, 6). We did the 8 am tour, and there were only 7 of us total in the group. We ate so much fruit, chocolate and had delicious coffee. We were so full after! And we learned so much about the growing and harvesting processes at the farm. Our family agrees that we could do this tour every single day. It was perfect!

I can not say enough good things about this tour. I was a
bit apprehensive because this tour was much cheaper than the others in the area. I could not have been more wrong. Brian was amazing! He was so informative about each step in the process of creating chocolate and coffee. He was kind an answered all questions with a smile. I was pleasantly surprised with all of the delicious fruits provided. There was also info provided about how the fruit grows in costa rica. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Great tour ! Very local and authentic with lots of interesting information and so much fruits and goodies.

The guide was really passionate and funny. The fruit was great and touring the whole farm was fun. Was up there for a great relaxing activity.

Our kids insisted on this tour and I am glad we did it. It was totally worth the time spent and the price. They offered multiple fruits and snacks to taste - chocolate covered frozen banana, sugarcane, soursop, fresh banana, home made rum, papaya, mango, cacao fruits. We ground coffee and cocoa beans, they made hot cocoa and coffee out of it, served them to us. They also gave us handmade chocolates. Plus, lot of historical information shared on coffee and cacao.

Really enjoyed the tour. It’s a relatively small property that besides cocoa has some coffee and several fruit plants. The guide did a good job of keeping everyone interested and engaged. We were served fruits, coffee and chocolate

This is a fantastic and a very informative experience everyone should consider while in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. The farm is family owned and the people that worked there are very passionate and knowledgeable with what they do.

Must do while in La Fortuna. Our guide Brian is knowledgeable and personable. He kept the group entertained and well fed with tasty local fruits throughout the tour. The pacing is good and keeps everyone involved. Duration is appropriate and great for when you don't want a 4 hour or longer activity.
Brian also helped get me an Uber back to my hotel as I didn't have reception, even though it was his lunch time. He's good people.
Would recommend!

This was a ton of fun! Our guide was a great storyteller and we learned a lot from him. We got to sample a variety of fruits. My favorite was trying the fruit of a cocoa bean, it was really bizarre but deliciously sweet and refreshing. There was also a moment at the end where the whole group sat at tables and chatted over coffee and hot cocoa, which was lovely. The chocolate cubes were delicious and we bought a container of it from the gift shop.
It’s mostly shaded under the many fruit trees, but there are definitely stops where you’ll be in the sun. Wear sunscreen and expect bugs!

I was not excited about this tour, but it was fantastic and I’m so glad we did it! We had so many samples of fruit that were all delicious, sugar cane and rum! The chocolate and coffee were great!! The tour was very interesting and the tour guide shared a lot if interesting facts.

The chocolate tour was such an amazing and unique experience. It took place in a family backyard, which made everything feel very homemade, welcoming, and authentic. Everyone was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
Our tour guide, Bryan, was spectacular. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the entire experience fun and memorable. We were able to sample many of the fruits grown there and got the full chocolate-making experience — from picking the cacao bean to enjoying a delicious hot cup of chocolate and fresh chocolate bites.
I highly recommend this experience to everyone. You won’t regret it!

We had an amazing time on the chocolate farm tour! The experience was a perfect mix of fun, learning, and delicious tasting. We got to sample fresh local fruits including pineapple, mango, banana, and papaya, and also saw coffee plants along the way.
The highlight was learning the entire chocolate-making process step by step — from cacao bean to finished chocolate. We even learned fascinating facts about leaf-cutter ants, which the kids loved.
Our guide, Dan, was funny, insightful, and extremely informative. He kept everyone engaged throughout the tour, especially our 9-year-old, who had a blast and stayed interested the whole time. Ending the tour with local coffee and hot chocolate was the perfect touch.
Definitely worth the money, and we would highly recommend it to others visiting the area!

The experience was incredible. Brian, the guide, had amazing knowledge of both chocolate and coffee. His passion was evident, and thanks to him, I learned so much. I highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely loved this experience. It was about a two hour two which included so much fresh fruit, chocolate and coffee. It's a family run business and doesn't feel commercialized like the rest of the chocolate and coffee tours in La Fortuna. Most importantly their chocolate was amazing!!
Dipan_S, May 2026
Honestly didn't know what to expect from a "chocolate tour" — figured it was just an excuse to eat samples and call it educational. I was not wrong, but I was also completely wrong, if that makes sense.
The farm has been growing cacao criollo for nearly 100 years. Our guide walked us through the whole process; from cracking open cacao pods (which looks nothing like what you'd expect, by the way) to grinding, fermenting, and eventually tasting. At every single step there was something to try, which my group took very seriously.
What really made this tour was the guide had a great sense of humor. He clearly loves what he does and has been doing it a long time. The knowledge runs deep, but he keeps it accessible and never makes you feel like you're sitting in a lecture.
Beyond the chocolate, the farm itself is gorgeous. There are over 37 kinds of tropical fruit growing on the property and we got to try several of them, plus sugar cane, banana, mangoes, pineapples, rum — it kept going.
If you're in the area, just go. It's two hours, it's delicious, and you'll leave knowing way more about where chocolate actually comes from than you ever expected to.

The owners are very passionate about farming and we learnt a lot . Tried the delicious fruits grown on their farm and they make the absolute best chocolate squares . This tour is highly recommended!
Kristin_B, May 2026
Great combination of discovering nature in the farm, tasting different fruits, cacao, and coffee, and learning about the process of cacao production. We enjoyed it very much.
Natalie_R, May 2026
Great tour from the family who runs the farm! They served us so much fruit, coco and coffee all grown on their property. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly!
Jessica_B, May 2026
Wonderful experience! Josue was very informative and interesting! Delicious tasting of many fruits, chocolates, and coffee!
Nathan_P, May 2026
Our family of five really enjoyed this tour. The family run farm were generous sharing their knowledge of how chocolate and coffee are made as well as the ability to taste it all. The chocolate was one of the best we’ve ever tried!
Timothy_C, Apr 2026
Lots of fun to see the real plants and learn more about them and the process they undergo!
They also feed you a ton of fruits, don't forget to chew the sugarcane!
Lorie_M, Apr 2026
It was wonderful. At first i was kind of skeptical because i didn't want to have a seated lesson about chocolat and coffee but in the end it was one of the best activity we had done. Bryan was amazing, he gave us so much explanation about everything (not only about cocoa or coffee) in such a didactic and dynamic way, I learned without the feeling of receiving a lesson. They provided us with on site grown fruits all along the way and they were so fresh and tasty. They also showed us different fruits trees. We were able to taste cocoa fruits from the tree and all along the different steps of production of chocolate. Plus we were a small group, everybody was able to ask any question. 100% recommend it!

This tour was so much fun. I made my family come because I love chocolate but they ended up really enjoying it too. Brian was a great tour guide and he made the experience interesting and interactive. They offer you lots of snacks throughout the tour too which we appreciated. I would definitely recommend and come back again

The staff was very friendly and the guide was incredibly knowledgeable. There were plenty of amazing fruit samples, and the cacao processing and samples were really good. The guide provided a lot of great history and context for coffee and cocoa in Costa Rica and it was really informative and the kids had a great time.
Chris_B, Apr 2026
Dan was an excellent guide and great with the kids! We loved the fruit, chocolate, and animals we saw!
Allison_T, Apr 2026
Such a great local tour! Brian was great in describing everything and we learned so much about all the local fruits, chocolate and coffee. Highly recommend!
