Our tour with Rudy (guide) and Colorado (driver) was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip to Costa Rica. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, fun, and full of incredible moments. Rudy is a natural storyteller with deep knowledge of Costa Rican wildlife, culture, and history. He spotted sloths we never would have seen on our own and made every stop feel meaningful. His passion for nature and his warm personality made the day feel like traveling with a friend who just happens to know everything about the rainforest. Colorado, our driver, was equally fantastic—safe, attentive, and always ready with a smile. He navigated the roads with ease and made sure we were comfortable the entire time.

Still a favorite memory 2 years later!

I didn’t write a review when we did the experience but two years later, I have to say, it’s still one of our fondest memories as a family! The tour guide was helpful in us understanding the culture and things we were seeing. The zip line was all about safety and fun, and the photo package was SO worth it! The horses made my kids so happy to be independent. But…the tubing had to be the highlight! It was epic! So long, so many laughs…we loved it all!! Dinner…be ready to eat quick is all I can say though.

This was a great tour to learn about and sample the coffee and cacao/chocolate growing and production in Costa Rica. The guide was very knowledgeable and the setting was well set up to explain the various phases of the growing and making of these. Sampling the different types of coffee and chocolate was fantastic.

Best Excursion in Tamarindo!

If you are in Guanacaste, you must do this tour! We took the afternoon trip with Timarouba Catamaran Sailing Tours and had an absolute blast. The music was fantastic, the energy was high, and the open bar kept the tropical drinks flowing all afternoon. The crew was fantastic. The lunch served was great and much needed. They took us to a private beach that allowed for snorkeling, kayaking, and floating. We were able to sunbathe on the nets and watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. If you are looking for an afternoon of entertainment and fun, this is it! Axl (not sure how to spell it) and his crew were AMAZING!

We had a blast and recommend doing this activity if you’re visiting La Fortuna. Our guide Braulio made the experience so much fun! Everything included from the hotel pick up, stops for refreshments, fresh fruit in the middle, and the traditional lunch at the end were all appreciated. It was easy for beginners on our boat and exhilarating for the more experienced individuals at the same time.

Franklin was awesome!!! Very knowledgeable, funny, and you can tell he loves MOMMY NATURE! All three guides were wonderful, but Franklin stole the show. Unfortunately the weather was bad on our tour and we did not get to swim in the waterfall. But, we “can’t control the weather Jackie!” I would recommend this. We took our time and took as many breaks as needed. Thank you Red Lava tours! P.S. What an Amazing lunch. Thank you cooks and staff!

Epic day with great guide!

Absolutely amazing! This was one of the best family trips we’ve ever taken. From start to finish, every activity was exciting, well-organized, and fun for both kids and adults. We laughed, conquered fears, explored, and created unforgettable memories together. A huge shout-out to our tour guide, driver, and all things- Rene! Not only did he get us everywhere and through everything safely but he always knew the best spots, shared great stories, kept us laughing, and somehow managed to keep the whole crew happy and organized during a jam packed day.

Amazing Adventure

We were lucky that the clouds and weather cleared to give us a beautiful day for this tour giving us the most amazing view of the volcano. All of the sites are amazing on their own right, but our guide, Brian, made all the difference. I can't say enough wonderful things about him. He was not only knowledgeable about each location to include history. He taught us about the plant life. He taught us about birds and insects and all kinds of wildlife. I don't know how he could spot these little critters but he could find a green frog on a green leaf in the middle of the rain forest. It is not necessary to do any of these adventures without a guide but I highly recommend using a guide if you want to see animals of all varieties. He even spotted toucans and a sloth while we were driving down the road and pulled over so we could take pictures. It was an amazing experience.

Amazing and highly recommended day on the water!

Our Tortuga Island excursion was amazing from start to finish. They picked us up, stopped for breakfast, then took us to the dock before heading out on the boat. The ride was beautiful and we even saw monkeys and dolphins along the way. Lunch was included and very good, and the island itself was stunning with clear water and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend for a memorable day.

The stairs back up are no joke but there are many spots to step aside and return your heart rate to baseline lol. It was beautiful! We enjoyed it very much. There are rocks to climb over at the base of the falls but you can also get near the water without climbing rocks. We recommend so long as you are in good health! Pura Vida! 💕

Safety, experience and support!

Our experience was amazing! The place and the views are beautiful, the safety makes you feel super comfortable, the knowledge and patience of the guys is an extra that gives you the confident to enjoy. My daughter suffers motion sickness and gets a little anxious but wanted to face the fear and do it, and at the last one started feeling sick and throwing up and the guys were super patient with her, waited for us without rushing us and making her feel better right away! My daughters loved the experience and loved everything about it!

Great for all ages!

Great experience! Boat was very clean and well maintained. Crew was incredibly kind to everyone. Ages on board ranged from 8 to 84 and everyone enjoyed it! Food was delicious! My teenagers who are picky, went back for seconds. Snorkeling was good, swimming in the cove was nice and drinks were very good. We’d do this again!
