The boat was beautiful. The Captain was amazing. Justin was fantastic and very attentive, professional and fun. The food was amazing, music was great. The whole atmosphere was amazing. I would recommend this to anyone. It was absolutely fantastic.

The cruise started a little disorganized trying to figure out where and who to meet up with but once that was figured out it was an amazing 5 hrs with a crew that was personable and fun to be around. It was an excellent experience and I would definitely do it again when I come back. Food was great, and drinks were actually unlimited. We traveled up the coast to a secluded spot where there was a small beach and a nice snorkel spot. We arrived back in port perfectly on time about 15 mins before sunset and watched the sunset from just outside of the bay. Then proceeded to push in and disembark before it got really dark. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Great cruise. Saw some turtles in the ocean and a few fish and stingray during the snorkel. Not a ton of fish around but the boat was fun. The food was great and the drinks were flowing. They had plenty of noodles and snorkel equipment as well as some kayaks and a float. And the sunset ride home was amazing.

Honest review: not worth the money. Yes you go on a catamaran but the open bar is basic and the drinks are bad, the food was very average and the snorkeling equipment is outdated. They also provide 1 paddle board and 1 kayak for 50+ people to use. I honestly would not recommend.

The boat ride was ok, the gentleman on thr boat were nice and hospitable. The check in process was horrible no signs, no direction and very unorganized. People were skipping the line and handing men cash to ride the boat skipping all the prepaid guests. Boat was overcrowded and the worst part was that you have to take a smaller boat to the catamaran. The boat was slippery and still wet with white paint which ruined my clothes.

Fun relaxing experience. Hubs and I stayed on the boat but the kids swam to shore and explored the beaches. Food was really good and the staff very funny and friendly!

My family and friends saw great reviews for this trip, so we decided to try it. It started out cool, but halfway through and towards the end, it seemed like the crew didn't really care about the passengers' safety. Several people were struggling in the water, and the crew just looked away while other passengers helped. They told passengers they ran out of plates and food, but then they made themselves plates and ate. Passengers pay for excursions and lunch, so I thought that was incredibly unprofessional. The crew definitely needs hospitality and safety training.

We booked the sunset catamaran tour and it exceeded every single expectation. It was a beautiful, extraordinary day that we will be talking about for a long time.

The Crew: Estevan, Axel, and Diego are absolute rockstars. They were incredibly friendly and personable, making us feel welcome the second we stepped on board. They catered to our every whim and made sure everyone was happy and safe.
The Amenities: The snorkeling was tons of fun, the lunch provided was delicious (and way better than your standard tour food!), and the open bar was fantastic—they serve the best drinks!
The Finale: Watching the stunning sunset from the deck of the catamaran was the perfect wrap-up.

I booked this experience through Viator, and it honestly turned out to be the absolute highlight of our entire trip. From the very first moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the most wonderful staff team – they were not only incredibly professional and organized, but also genuinely warm, energetic, and attentive. They made sure every single guest felt included, safe, and ready to have a great time. Their smiles and positive vibes set the tone for the whole day.
The food and drinks were absolutely top-notch. Right at the beginning, as we stepped in under the blazing sun, the team greeted us with generous platters of fresh watermelon and pineapple – juicy, sweet, and perfectly chilled. That first bite was pure bliss, sending a wave of cool refreshment through us and instantly melting away the summer heat. It was exactly the kind of welcome we needed to kick off the adventure with renewed energy.
The local cuisine was a feast for the senses: every dish was packed with authentic, bold flavors, from perfectly grilled meats to tangy salsas and traditional sides that tasted like they came straight from a local grandmother's kitchen. It was a delicious cultural experience in itself.
And let's talk about the beverages – what a selection! The open bar offered everything from signature cocktails and ice-cold local beers to soft drinks and creative mocktails. Lots of fun fu day at sea and I a cove to swim snorkel and eat.
We had a great group approx 50ppl. So this will vary per excursion .
Only issue was the playlist. Mainly Spanish songs so if you do not know the lyrics it is not for you.

He started off a little slow, but once the boat got moving, knitting, started flowing-it was like a family reunion. The crew did let a couple of the passengers put on their music and that was amazing! People were dancing singing, helping each other. It really embodied Pura Vida.

This should be advertised as a
Booze Cruise/Sunset Cruise being second.
We had a ton of a fun, but it’s certainly not a kid friendly experience or at least ours wasn’t. The tour didn’t feel too long but it was also long if that makes any sense. The private beach area (you need to swim about 50 yards to) was nice, we were allowed about an hour or so in the water/beach to hang out before lunch was ready.
Lunch is late (3-4pm) but very good. All of the employees made the experience great. They were friendly and pumped drinks out like their life depended on it.
I think a lot of your experience is determined by the group on board. Ours had 50 people on it, it did feel crowded at times but that’s because there was a group of girls who were absolutely trashed and being disrespectful to everyone. Regardless, if you and some friends want to go out for a nice day on the water and have some included drinks go ahead and book. If you want romantic or peace, do not under any circumstances book.
In the end we did see the sunset, your entire cruise back to shore was during it, and the boat was parked for a few minutes to get pictures, arriving back just as darkness hit.
One last note: it might seem a little unorthodox at first jumping on a little boat to get out there but it made for a fun experience.

Fun boat ride, good for all ages but definitely a booze cruise. Staff was very helpful. It’s more of an early dinner than lunch. We ate around 4.

Wonderful experience enjoying Costa Rica’s beautiful scenery and food on the water with my family. We were definitely the only family there with kids- thankfully at least they were all not too young to be phased by an open bar experience (we did not fully comprehend upon sign up) and had a first rate time! We all had fun mingling with the amazing crew who kept things lively and were highly attentive to everyone’s needs. The kids enjoyed jumping off the boat and swimming around during the snorkeling and swimming time. The food was first rate!

To be fair, I’m not sure what I was hoping for. But sure enough it was a boat half full of people in their 20’s looking to drink, dance, and be loud! The crew seemed to enjoy the chaos as well, with girls dancing behind the bar, sitting with the captain, etc..
This is more a warning to those unsure about what this is- if you’re looking for an enjoyable boat ride with the family, don’t do it! If you’re looking to pound booze and dance this is for you!

The captains did a great job transporting us safely, the swimming spot is beautiful and lunch came at 4pm but was delicious! On the way back captain had a great playlist and it was a party! Would highly recommend!

If you are in Guanacaste, you must do this tour! We took the afternoon trip with Timarouba Catamaran Sailing Tours and had an absolute blast. The music was fantastic, the energy was high, and the open bar kept the tropical drinks flowing all afternoon. The crew was fantastic. The lunch served was great and much needed. They took us to a private beach that allowed for snorkeling, kayaking, and floating. We were able to sunbathe on the nets and watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. If you are looking for an afternoon of entertainment and fun, this is it! Axl (not sure how to spell it) and his crew were AMAZING!

We had a great time on this cruise...the food was good the crew was friendly and accommodating. 1 thing that caught us off guard...be prepared for no dock...you take a smaller boat to get to the Catamaran! A bit frightening but turned out to be not so bad.

Overall, it was a good afternoon excursion, but it should probably be advertised as a booze cruise more than a snorkeling trip. The area for snorkeling is not great, although we enjoyed just swimming around. Getting there was at least an hour if not more and the heat made this lengthy journey a little long. The food was pretty good, the service was good, and the people who ran the boat were great as well. If I were 20-35, it would have been fantastic.

This trip was a lot of fun. I thought the boat would be crowded, but once we were all on it didn’t feel like it. The guides were accommodating and fun. The snorkeling was amazing, especially for our kids who had never done it before. The meal was very nice. My only suggestion would be not to call it lunch, or note the approximate timing of things on the agenda. We boarded around 1 and were expecting “lunch”, but it wasn’t served until after we snorkeled around 4:00. By then we were very hungry. All in all, a fun afternoon.

The crew was super fun and the boat was wonderful. I really liked that it was not too crowded. We went to a great beach to snorkel and had plenty of time on our own to explore. Lunch was really tasty but not served until later in the day so I would recommend eating beforehand.
