Did this experience to close out our Costa Rica trip and it was wonderful! A really good value with delicious food and snacks included as well as plenty of drinks. Staff was super friendly and accommodating: the whole experience felt like one big party. Great music, lovely people, fun activities, and absolutely gorgeous views. Would highly recommend for a fun and relaxing evening on the water!!

Although this was a big catamaran, once under way it was fine and we had a great time. People were able to move around and go to the top deck
We saw lovely dolphins, food was good and drinks were strong and plentiful

Overall a good experience. The only hiccup was the beginning of the tour. I traveled with a friend but last minute I had to meet the group at the Marina instead of getting picked up from the hotel. My friend explained the situation to the staff and was told to direct me to their office to get a wristband once I arrived to the marina. Once I arrived, the staff told us that two wristbands were given to my friend at the hotel pick up, which was not the case. They asked us to wait until everyone got on the boat to see if I was “allowed” to get on too. I even suggested to show my reservation confirmation but the lady declined to see it.
Again, overall it was a good experience.. drinks were good, plenty of space to wander around, met awesome people, but the very start was a little unpleasant.

I'm sorry to disappoint but I have to be honest when I say that I cannot recommend booking this cruise. I feel like it was a rookie mistake to book spots on such a large, crowded vessel. Here are some reasons why I say this: Right from the beginning, pickup and transport was sketchy. Drivers didn't speak much english and they had trouble getting up the steep hills in the shuttle van. They will ask for your passport numbers so have those handy. The hot tubs were not hot or working, snorkeling was bad since water was deep and there was nothing to see, boat was crowded with lots of drunken tourists, waterslides look fun from a distance but when in the water watching people take the slides, all of them complained about how horrible and painful they were. Food was just okay, they served some tuna with a red sauce pasta salad. Long lines to wait in for snorkel equipment or food. Some fruit offered early on as a snack. One bartender was very attentive and also managed to anchor us in the snorkel spot so he was great, the others, not so much.
Yes, the sunset was nice and we did see and cruise with dolphins.
I'd suggest you find a much smaller charter cruise.

Ocean King Catamaran is a large, family-friendly cruise, designed for guests of all ages. Travelers looking for a small, private, or adults-only experience may prefer a different type of tour.
Our jacuzzis are not hot tubs—they are meant for relaxation and fun in a tropical environment and are especially enjoyed by families and children.
Snorkeling in the Pacific Ocean is offered as an extra activity, as visibility can vary daily due to natural ocean conditions beyond our control. We always choose the best possible location for the day.
While our vessel is licensed for 180 passengers, we limit capacity to approximately 160 guests to ensure comfort and safety. A full tour will naturally feel lively and social.
We appreciate your comments and are glad you enjoyed the sunset and dolphin sightings, which are highlights of the experience for many of our guests.

Families will probably enjoy this catamaran tour. If you’re a couple / group of friends with no kids, you should probably find an adults-only catamaran. The service and staff were great, but having so many people and kids on the boat kind of dampened the experience a bit.
We weren’t allowed to walk on the boat with shoes, so if you’re someone that doesn’t even like to walk around your own house without shoes, you may struggle a bit like I did. I kept on seeing hair and food on the ground, and having to go to the bathroom without shoes on wasn’t great. I feel like if they are going to require that people don’t wear shoes on the boat then they should have staff clean sweep/mop it regularly, or let us wear our shoes since it was inevitable that there would be food on the ground.

Over the past 10+ years, we have proudly hosted hundreds of families, and for many of them—especially children—this becomes a memorable and joyful experience in a safe, relaxed, and respectful environment. That said, we completely understand that guests looking for an adults-only or more intimate atmosphere may prefer a different type of tour, and we always encourage travelers to choose the experience that best fits their expectations.
Regarding capacity, while our vessel is licensed to carry up to 180 passengers, we intentionally limit our tours to a maximum of 160 guests in order to preserve comfort, safety, and overall service quality. Our spacious catamaran is designed to accommodate this number comfortably.
As for the no-shoes policy, this is a standard maritime practice on catamarans and sailing vessels, implemented to protect the specialized deck surface, ensure safety, and maintain the condition of the boat. We understand that for some guests this may feel unusual or uncomfortable, and we sincerely appreciate you sharing your perspective.
Our crew is continuously attentive to cleanliness throughout the tour; however, during a full and active family-friendly experience—especially with food service—it can be challenging to keep the deck spotless at every moment. That said, your comments are taken very seriously, and we will continue reinforcing our cleaning protocols to ensure the highest possible standards for all guests.
We would also like to sincerely apologize if the behavior of any passenger on board affected your experience. While the vast majority of our guests are respectful and considerate, we regret any situation that may have detracted from your enjoyment.

We took our 9 and 6 year old sons and this was their favorite part of our trip. All crew members were extremely helpful and friendly. Well worth the price for the number of drinks (well made!) and snack/full dinner provided. Shockingly good fish for being served out on a boat! We saw many fish while snorkeling and even though it rained a bit, the sunset was beautiful at the end of the evening.

Seriously, book this right now! My husband and I had so much fun on Ocean King’s catamaran, and my only complaint is that it went by way too fast! We booked the 2pm tour so we could catch the sunset, and from start to finish the experience was fantastic. The staff were amazing, the drinks were great, and the music set the perfect vibe. My husband especially loved the snorkeling, jumping off the boat, and using the slide. We truly enjoyed every part of this experience and would 100% do it again!

This was the best Catamaran experience I have ever had and I’ve had several experiences. We had so much fun! We saw whales and dolphins. The food was amazing and the staff were so welcoming with great service!
