It was a decent amount of walking and up an incline with some steep parts and stairs as well. It wasn’t too slippery for us on a nice day but if it’s raining then it could be extra slick as well.
It was a very great experience, our tour guide was very informed and gave us a great overview of the history of the area and culture. She was very lovely and made the tour easy to follow along with and gave plenty of opportunities and tips of when and where to take pictures!

The guide (I think her name was Eva - sorry) was excellent. It was a three hour tour but didn’t feel like it. Eva? made the tour interesting and thought provoking. She amazed me with the knowledge she shared. The tour ran slightly over as Eva wanted to show and explain areas in the museum that she didn’t want us to miss out on. Eva was very passionate to ensure we enjoyed the tour. It was great to be in a small group. Eva continuely checked we were all present 😀. And would check in with us to see if there were any questions we had.
Eva pointed out great photo opportunities which we were grateful for. Thank you.

Our guide had a great personality and a deep knowledge of the Acropolis and Greek history. We hit all the major points on the site and in the museum with time to savor the details. A fun way to spend the morning!

Great tour overall—highly recommend! Lisa was fantastic: incredibly friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The timing was spot on as well; the 10am start was perfect for making the most of the day without feeling rushed.
Lichee_G, Apr 2026
very knowledge guide. had learned so much from this tour.
also very well organized.
I would do a viator tour again somewhere else.
greg_b, Apr 2026
The guide never showed up and I had to call and the person said they contacted us but never did.
They explained it was because of the rain warning?
The tour guide was from walk Europe and I do not recommend.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Arriving at the meeting point on time is the responsibility of the traveler. In line with our operating procedures, guides are able to wait a maximum of 5 minutes; after this, the tour must proceed as scheduled, as admission tickets are time-sensitive and expire shortly after the reserved entry time.
This information is clearly communicated in the trip details both before and after booking.
As you did not arrive within the required time, the booking was marked as a no-show. In accordance with our policy, this is non-refundable.
Noelle_S, Mar 2026
We were late for the start. We tried to connect with our tour guide. They didn’t help us do that. We were still charged the full $500 + no refund.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Arriving late to the meeting point results in an automatic no-show, and all rights to participate in the tour are forfeited.
This is not discretionary — it is a clearly stated policy communicated multiple times: before booking, during checkout, in the confirmation email, and on the tour voucher. Guests are required to arrive at least 10 minutes before departure.
Our tours start strictly on time because entry tickets are timed and expire within minutes. Once the group enters the site, access is no longer possible, and late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
For this reason, we strongly advise all guests: do not be late.

Amazing experience with up close and personal time to see the ancient ruins. Our tour guide, Frosso, was extremely knowledgeable and full of information about the Acropolis and museum. The time was well spent and with the venue we paid. I highly recommend this experience.
MaryAnn_S, Mar 2026
This was an easy paced tour of the acropolis and museum. Our tour guide Vicki was knowledgeable and accommodating.
Philip_C, Mar 2026
Pure chaos trying to get in. Not the fault of viator or our guide, but poor organization of the site administration. Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. Everyone needs to understand the steepness and difficulty of the terrain. Very educational and enlightening physically demanding tour.
TONI_D, Mar 2026
Getting the right tour guide makes a difference. Ours had a smooth voice, and I heard other torque guides with sharp quick voices that made me nervous. Also, our tour guide was so kind.
prettyban, Mar 2026
Guide was very efficient and even though acropolis was extremely crowded because of one entrance closed and a cruise ship arrival. Her stories were funny and anecdotal. Loved her enthusiasm!
peter_b, Mar 2026
Our tour guide, Eva, was extremely knowledgeable. We enjoyed our tour very much and would certainly recommend it!
Sharon_B, Mar 2026
Eva is a knowledgeable and experienced tour guide. She has a wealth of information to impart. We would have missed or not noticed many things had they not been pointed out to us. My friends had been to the Acropolis before without a guide. They felt they gained so much more information with this tour. All four of us enjoyed this tour a great deal and highly recommended it.
Kim_S, Mar 2026
We enjoyed Vicky, our tour guide. She told some great stories to bring home. It showered while we were there so it was slippery. However the way you go up which is strenuous is not the way you come back down which makes it a little easier.
Steve_K, Mar 2026
There is no need to spend an exorbitant amount of money getting a private tour of the Acropolis when a small group tour is more than adequate… Our tour guide was extremely well, organized, knowledgeable, and an excellent communicator… We experienced the acropolis from every corner of the property, and everyone's questions were clearly answered… Well worth the time and money to see this famous landmark.
Anthony_C, Mar 2026
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about every aspect of our tour! She answered all our questions with such enthusiasm!
John_V, Mar 2026
The Acropolis is a must do in Athens, our guide was very knowledgeable and gave insight and context you would not get without one. Overall an extremely memorable few hours!
Robin_R, Mar 2026
Very knowledgeable guide who took time to explain the history and local context on the walking tour.
Kenleigh_M, Mar 2026
This was a great tour! Eva was our guide and she was very knowledgeable and thorough. It felt like we were able to see and hear about all the essentials without feeling rushed. Would recommend!
Aleks_C, Mar 2026
It was a fantastic tour. The guide was wonderful and let us rest and take pictures as needed. The guide told us stories and how and why with history. The museum was fantastic also. The guide explained the architecture of the museum and also why things missing/damaged due to history
For future folks: if wanting to visit bottom of museum it closes at 4:30 and the museum top portion at 5:00pm. So book accordingly :)
Jeanine_S, Mar 2026
The guide was very knowledgeable and very kind! Her pace was excellent and allowed time for photos and questions.
Dutton_M, Feb 2026
Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared with us in a clear way. The headset worked well and we left right on time. The acropolis was amazing and the crowd was reasonable. The museum was incredible and the architecture was stunning. Great tour!
Michael_R, Feb 2026
Our guide Vicky gave us a very friendly, welcoming and comprehensive tour.with a group size of only 10 you are able to learn a lot and be able to interact with each other. Highly recommend!
Katherine_S, Feb 2026
Eva was enthusiastic, personable, and informative. She was sensitive to needs and limitations of group members. She modified the tour with our approval to maximize weather and crowd conditions to keep us safe and ahead of the other larger tour groups present. She explained the history and importance of the sites as she helped us to view them with how the ancient Athenians would have seen them. Eva added warmth and depth to the incredible experience of the Acropolis.
Marie_D, Feb 2026
It was a good tour, however we wasted a half hour trying to figure out where one of the group members disappeared to. So ended up just standing around at the Acropolis while the guide kept trying to call and find the person. Granted, the guide tried to extend the tour a little at the museum to make up for it, but my son was so tired at that point after standing around so long doing nothing, we ended up having to leave during the museum part. And I feel like we didn't get all the info/tour on top of the Acropolis either since the guide was distracted and had to spend so much time trying to find the lost person. Not the guide's fault, but just brought the rating down. I feel like there should be a better system in place if someone gets lost so that it doesn't affect the remaining members as much.
john_c, Feb 2026
What a perfect way to spend a Sunday morning. Beautiful city, leisurely stroll to the top, with a very knowledgeable guide who was able to explain in detail all the sights.
Mary_V, Jan 2026
I had a great experience on this tour. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and answered all of are questions.
j_s, Jan 2026
Excellent guide, very knowledgeable and thorough. It was a group of mixed walking ability and she was very aware of everyone’s limitations.
Shanyn_P, Jan 2026
I enjoyed this tour but the reason I gave it 4 stars is because I wanted more free time to explore the Acropolis on my own. We only had 10 minutes of free time there. The information was good and the tour guide very knowledgeable, but it was too in depth for my liking. I’d rather have a little less of listening to the guide and more free time to explore and take pictures on our own in the Acropolis. Note that the museum part was fine. The tour ended after a short time in there and then we could explore the museum more on our own.
