Meteora is absolutely wonderful - so beautiful and worth the long drive back and forth from Athens. The company has good drivers and comfortable buses. All in all, the road was much easier (and very scenic) than expected. Our tour guide Maria was fun and knowledgeable. She did everything she could to help us and answer questions. Highly recommended!

Amazing Tour that Exceeded My Expectations

Victoria_L, Mar 2026
Truly enjoyed the entire tour. The long ride to and from Athens was relaxing. The drivers got us through the entire trip safely, thank you! Clement, was an amazing tour guide. His knowledge of the monasteries and landscapes was impressive, and he shared it with such enthusiasm that it made the experience even more unforgettable. His friendly and approachable demeanor put me at ease, and I appreciated his insights so much. When I returned to the bus early, he even took the time to suggest nearby spots with stunning views, helping me capture the perfect shots. Thanks for an incredible experience!

A trip you must do when in Athens

John_K, Mar 2026
The bus journey there and back is quite long, 4 hours each way with a 30 min break midway for snacks etc, but it it is well worth making the trip. After a very nice lunch we went on a 4 hour bus journey through the area to see the six main monasteries from many different viewpoints. We stopped off and visited 3 of these monasteries. The visits included some steep steps and pathways, so bear this in mind, but we were given plenty of time to explore each location. Maria, our guide, was excellent and very knowledgeable in the history of the area and the geological features. She knew all the places to stop for good photo opportunities including views of the monasteries, rock formations and caves. We had a fantastic time and would recommend this trip for anyone looking for an interesting day away from Athens.

Milasol_G, Mar 2026
A must do. Would have liked more time in each of the 3 monasteries we visited but feel very fortunate to have seen them with the little time we have for this vacation. Clements, the local tour guide maximized timing and was very efficient, informative and very kind. The drive was long but expected. What an amazing feat to have built those monasteries in such a terrain in such difficult times.

Great day trip from Athens

Shannon_P, Mar 2026
The most challenging part is the bus ride, however, the trip is worth it. Enough time was given at all of the stops and lots of details shared.

Worth doing!

Pcpellegrino1, Mar 2026
The tour was wonderful, the guide, Maria, very knowledgeable. The bus drivers were excellent as well (we had 2, one coming and there, another brought us back to Athens.) It was a very long time in the bus, both ways (about 4 hrs total each way). A great deal of step climbing and steep inclines/declines. This would be difficult to do if you have any disabilities. I have a torn meniscus in my one knee but do a lot of walking to keep it in shape. I was able to do the physical climbing, etc, but could feel it at the end of the day. That said I was very glad we did it. The Monasteries were beautiful and the views amazing. Lunch was a bit of an rush, but got us to the tour sooner.

Temples in the sky

Tetiana_L, Mar 2026
This place should be one of the World's biggest wonders. The "floating" temples give you a feeling of a fantastic movie. Thank you for the organizers for super comfortable tour, for the great local guide Maria and delicious food.

Overall good tour

Breshna_S, Mar 2026
Overall this is a well organized tour. However, the tour specified 5 hour comprehensive tour in Meteora and we only had 4 . The tour also said a free panoramic map was included however I had to ask for the map and did not see the tour guide give everyone a map. Also I don’t like the fact that for 5 hours from Athens to Meteora , we only go with a driver and no tour guide and on the way back the same. We did have a tour guide once we arrived to Meteora and Clement was really good.

Once in Life experience

ShuhongTina_T, Feb 2026
Honestly once in life experience!!!! Long journey but so worth it ! Our driver and Clement took so good care of us, and Clement kept us entertained throughout our journey, answered all of our curiosity questions !! Would do it again

Stunning

Paulina_Z, Feb 2026
I really enjoyed this trip. Meteora is stunning and it's more than worth the long bus journey. And, given the distance, the lovely guides, and lunch, it’s definitely a bargain. When you're booking this trip, do take the lunch option, as there's pretty much nowhere to get any food once in Meteora. And be prepared for walking all the stairs.

Amazing place, amazing...

Amazing place, amazing trip, amazing guide Clemont so so so knowledgeable and enthuastic beyond the best recommend highly!!

An absolute Must See!

Sherry_S, Feb 2026
This tour is an absolute MUST if you're visiting Greece! Clement was a terrific tour guide with lots of information. Beware that you will be climbing some stairs but take it from this out of shape 63 year old, you can do it and it will be worth every aching muscle!! Absolutely amazing.

Beautiful places and the tour very organized!

Luz_M, Feb 2026
The trip was wonderful, the driver and the tour guide super friendly and comunícate giving us all the information about the places we visited. The only thing that we didn’t like was that when we reserved the tour it say with lunch and wasn’t clear how to do it. We have to pay there thinking it was included. I think the propaganda was no well designed.

One place you must visit before leaving this earth!

Aldo_D, Feb 2026
Be prepared to be overwhelmed with the beauty of the monasteries and the spectacular views! Ask for Clement as your guide!

An amazing experience!!!

Martin_P, Feb 2026
This was an amazing day!! Coach trip was smooth and stopped for breaks as needed. Met by the tour guide then had lunch in Meteora which was lovely and very much appreciated!! Meteora was unbelievable!! You need to see it to appreciate this wonderful sight!! Loads of opportunities to stop for photos and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly! A very long trip from Athens but well worth it. Wish I could put into words the amazing monasteries and the unbelievable views!! You need to see them yourself!!

Beautiful Meteora

Garrett_D, Feb 2026
Was truly a great experience. Our tour leader Clemente, was not only knowledgeable but passionate about Meteora. Highly recommend signing up for the lunch too.

Great trip

Danielle_S, Feb 2026
What a great trip. We got the history of the hermit monks and when/why/how the monasteries were built. We visited 3 ministrations and got to see the the church inside and all the paintings. Some saw monks, all saw nuns. Just breathtaking views of the mountains and monasteries.

Beautiful but long day and big groups

Nina_H, Jan 2026
Stunning views and really unique, but a really long day. I went on 18 January and the farmers' strike was still going on, as evidenced by large parts of the highways blocked by parked tractors. This increases travel time to 5 hours one way, and the organisers would have known this but did not provide any warning about it. Also, group size was 34, not 15, as indicated in the ad. It didn't matter so much because you get to explore the monasteries on your own anyways, but I don't like false promises. Our guide, Clement from Canada, was very enthusiastic and energetic. Overall worth it, but be prepared to only get back to Athens late.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re sorry for the longer travel time due to the farmers’ strike. We understand how frustrating that can be. We’re glad Clement’s enthusiasm helped make the day worthwhile, and we appreciate your honest insights.

Very cool trip!

RobyneT, Jan 2026
It is a very long day! Our guide Marie was great, very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The ride was very nice with rest stops and opportunities for pictures and snacks.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your review! We’re glad the long day still felt enjoyable thanks to Marie’s knowledge and fun energy. It’s great to hear the ride was comfortable with plenty of stops for photos and snacks. We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope to welcome you again!

Simply breath-taking

Egle_P, Jan 2026
This is a great way to visit Meteora if you're visiting Greece just for a handful of days. The tour guide Clement was very attentive and energetic, and a special shout out to our driver Tassos! The views are breath-taking, and I regret that I couldn't spare at least two days for Meteora - a few hours surely isn't enough. This review gets 4/5 stars because my original tour got cancelled due to technical (bus) difficulties. Luckily, it got swiftly rescheduled as I had another day to spare. Thank you for the tour operators for taking care of the situation and swift responses.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re delighted you enjoyed the breathtaking views and appreciated Clement’s energy and Tassos’s great driving. We’re sorry for the initial cancellation, but glad the swift rescheduling worked for you. It’s wonderful to know the experience was still worth it, even on a tight schedule.

Stephen_V, Jan 2026
Can't say enough about our tour guide Clement. Not only knowledgeable but very charismatic and passionate about the monasteries. Great sense of humor as well. This place is a must visit. The lunch was done cafeteria lunch line style and was delicious. Very spacious dining area and super efficient. It's advertised as 4 hours there and back but we ran into traffic on the way back to Athens so we got back somewhat late. Didn't bother me; simply a heads up. My only regret was that I didn't make arrangements to stay at least a day to check out the town.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear how much you enjoyed Clement’s passion, humor, and knowledge. It’s great that you liked the lunch and overall experience, even with the traffic delay due to the farmers protest on the return. We’d love to welcome you back so you can explore the town next time!

Amazing sites

Fabulous. It was a tiresome journey, but it was worth it. The area is full of character and fascinating information.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that, despite the long journey, the experience was truly worth it for you. Meteora’s character and history make it a unique place, and we’re glad you enjoyed it so much. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you again!

Meteora! A beautiful must visit location while in Greece.

Shailendra_C, Jan 2026
Meteora is a fantastic destination to visit. This tour was very well organized. Getting There: Theres a 4 hour drive from Athens thats broken down in 2 segments with a 30 minute break at the 2 hour point. The bus ride is comfortable and manageable even with kids. Lunch: The lunch is a buffet and sufficient for everyone. Lots of options and a decent meal (Pasta/Fried Fish/Moussaka/Chicken/Greek Salad). Dont expect a michelin star meal but it's great for the price paid. Meteora: This place is magical. All of the monasteries we visited were just incredible. We saw some truly amazing structures and got some beautiful pictures. The tour stops at additional photo op points as well. Guide: We had Clement from Canada as our guide and he was such a wonderful story teller. He even had the kids engaged in learning about the history/ geography and background of the place. Additional Remarks: It takes away a whole day. We were unfortunately affected by the Farmers Strikes which blocked many portions of the highway to get there. These detours caused delays to our overall tour. However they did not cut short our tour or skimp on showing us less sites. They still took the time for us to see all the places.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your detailed review! We’re delighted you found the tour well organized and enjoyable, from the comfortable drive to the buffet lunch and the magical monasteries. It’s wonderful to hear Clement made the experience engaging for everyone. Despite the delays from the strikes, we’re glad you still saw everything. We appreciate your kind words!

We were debating between driving from Athens and this , and we were glad to pick this . It was really comfortable and covered lots of places despite the long drive. And Maria was great. She shared lots of good and interesting information with us , which made our trip really enjoyable and fun.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your kind review! We’re delighted you chose the tour over driving and that the journey felt comfortable and worthwhile. It’s wonderful to hear that Maria’s knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience enjoyable and fun. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you again!

Fantastic day trip from Athens to Meteora and return

Jajati_P, Dec 2025
Awesome tour through Meteora Thornes. On time departure, comfortable buses and very knowledgeable tour guide. Recommend for anyone looking for a day trip from Athens and return trip without being tired . We changed our from self driving tour to this tour really made wise decision.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that everything ran smoothly, from the on‑time departure to the comfort of the buses and the knowledge of our guide. Choosing the tour instead of self‑driving was indeed a great decision, and we’re happy it allowed you to enjoy Meteora without feeling tired. We truly appreciate your recommendation!

Disappointing, Not what it promises

Daniel_F, Dec 2025
-The tour leader was not who was promised -The "best local restaurant" for lunch was essentially a cafeteria -There 15 max person tour group was actually 40 -There was no wifi on the bus -Not all the bus seats are the same, the back row was extremely uncomfortable -A thirty-minute rest stop on the way there contributed to our missing the oldest and largest monastary -The 14-hour trip expanded to 19 hours with us getting back to Larissa Station after 3AM. -The return trip took 9 hours with absolutely no explanation as to why or when we would eventually get back -In hindsight, the delay on the way back was probably caused by a farmers' protest, but that was entirely predictable and people should have been warned about this possibility.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Based on what you describe, it is very likely that you were not on our tour. We do not operate with 40‑person groups, we offer free Wi‑Fi on the bus, and our lunch stop is a traditional local restaurant, not a cafeteria. Our schedule also does not include returning to Larissa Station at 3AM. It seems you may have joined a different company’s tour, but we hope you still enjoyed your visit to Meteora despite the issues you experienced.
