Itinerary
Kick off with morning pickup from your Athens hotel (private tour option) or from the meeting point near the Acropolis metro station (small-group tour option) and head directly to the Acropolis. Enter with skip-the-line tickets and enjoy free time inside to take in the Parthenon and other highlights.
Next, move on to the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Panathenaic Stadium before the scenic drive to the top of Mount Lycabettus to take in the view. After a stop to admire the ancient Agora, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Academy of Athens, take a break for an included lunch.
Your day ends with a choice of visiting the Acropolis Museum or Natural Archaeological Museum (tickets own expense) or enjoying free time to shop and sightsee in the historic Plaka neighborhood before drop-off at your morning meeting point.

Stephanos was wonderful and gave us so much information about Athens, the history, the people, and the lifestyle. We talked about so much. He was an excellent driver and his enthusiasm made the tour so interesting. We enjoyed the changing of the guards and all the details Stephanis shared with us throughout the day.
The Acropolis was very crowded. We would caution people going there that the marble can be slippery and the steps can be steep. For some older visitors it can be a fall risk. The site is roped off so you are still at a distance from the ancient sites.

The full day private tour with an informed guide was an exceptional way to see the historical and meaningful sights that encompass Athen's history. Our guide was extraordinarily informed of Greek mythology and it's associated history which made it all even more interesting.

Our Gide Nikos was very knowledgeable in Greek history and mythology. Explained everything well before we got to the different sites to explore. It was enjoyable exploring things when we knew already what they were all about. It was great seeing the changing of the Gards and Nikos explained everything about their uniforms ( the pom-poms, the pleats) and all the different steps what they meant. Lunch was lovely but a little different to what we get in Melbourne in the Greek restaurants. We loved the entire day . Thank you Nikos

Our tour guide Aris
was very friendly, patient and provided lots of information prior to arrival to each destination. He made our day exceptionally enjoyable. Highly recommend him. The only disappointing part of the tour was the included lunch that was disappointing to say the least in quality!

Our family did the full day private tour of Athens with the optional add-on of swimming from the private boat. This was totally worth it! The best part was our guide Tolis (Nathanail). He was charming, friendly, and did a remarkable job of keeping us on time. Because of logistics and time, we were dropped off at the sites and had to tour ourself with no guide (the one downside), but Tolis was so knowledgeable that he was able to give us all the important information when we met back up with him. The best part was the add-on swimming experience where we were taken out to open water on the Mediterranean on a private boat and were given time to swim. All in all, it was a once in a lifetime experience that's perfect if you are looking to maximize your time in Athens, and I really can't say enough that Tolis was the best driver and guide ever.

We did a private tour of Athens. Our driver Pantelis was excellent and extremely knowledgeable about his country. We were able to see all the highlights of Athens in a short time. He even brought us to a local grocery store. I would highly recommend this tour.

My Husband and I had an amazing day with Yanes as our guide. It was a full itinerary with quite a bit of walking, but it was very well paced with plenty of water stops and breaks along the way. We never felt rushed and always had time to take in the incredible sights.
What really made this tour special was the context. Instead of simply walking past famous landmarks, Yanes brought them to life with engaging stories and historical background that made everything so much more meaningful. It felt like getting all the benefits of a private guide without the private tour price.
The scenic stops, delicious, included lunch, and friendly group made the day even more enjoyable. We learned so much, laughed a lot, and left with a much deeper appreciation for Athens and its history.

Full day with some tours on your own with pick up. The tours are all paid except the museum tour at the end. Lunch is provided and is great!!!! Panos does a great job. The vehicle ( the one we had) was a clean, sleek Mercedes sprinter and the driver navigated the roadways well. We always had plenty of water available as we went during the summer and it was hot. It’s a great tour and highly recommend

This was an excellent private full-day tour. Our driver, Giannis, was very knowledgeable and accommodating throughout the experience. The van was spacious and extremely comfortable for our group of nine, and the lunch was also very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a well-balanced experience that combines history, comfort, and great food.

Tour guide was great, but he did not go into the Acropolis with us
So then we had to either purchase another Acropolis Tour Guide on the spot or listening on other tours
Also, the crowd was horrible
Nothing we could do about the crowd, but I would suggest moving this tour to moving only and making sure you have a Tour Guide that can go inside
No, I will say that our Tour Guide Panos was exceptional and we enjoyed the experience with him where he took us to the changing of the guards and the Olympic stadium and Zeus and the natural Gardens and the three important buildings that were built in the 1840s this was all great and it was extremely knowledgeable, but the fact that we could not take him into the Acropolis was not good

Had a fabulous day out! Our guide was punctual, knowledgeable, and incredibly easy to get along with. Manos was our tour guide and he was amazing! Very knowledgeable and funny. We did a full day tour with two kids and Manos answered all their questions.
I would highly recommend this tour as all the entrance tickets were included and the lunch was very good and if possible request Manos!

The guide was very personable, knowledgeable, and provided an overall narrative that left me knowing a lot more about Athens than I did before the excursion. The value was good as well in the absent the Acropolis Museum, which was optional, the fee included all entrance fees and lunch. I was part of a separate excursion the next day to Corinth and none of that was included in the price.

Exceptional private tour of Athens. Perfect for the family with 1-2 days to experience the sights. Driver was amazing and on time. We hired a licensed guide too who was incredible and helped us make the most of our time. Learned a ton. Great for entire family (youngest is 8). Go to acropolis early! To avoid heat and huge crowds!

We had a great tour of Athens with our guide Manolis. He was very knowledgeable and personable and prepared us well for each historic site we were to explore. He knew where to be and what to see at just the right time, as well as being very concerned for our health and comfort, since we're near 80. Excellent full day tour. Our guide was Theodore, and he took full care of us. The only thing the tour didn't fully include was the Olympic Stadium, though we had a chance to take a few pictures in front of it. My group went and did a full tour the previous day, it is highly recommended, so not a problem for us - just be aware if you don't account for it. Regardless, I would say that all of the times that were given were just about perfect (90 minutes for the Acropolis, 60 for the Agora, 90 for the museum). Thank you for a great experience!

We had an incredible time on the Athens Full Day Private Tour. George, our guide, was FANTASTIC!! It was our first time to Greece and we would only be in Athens for two days. We wanted to see as much as possible and this tour fit the bill and exceed expectations!!! We fit all of the major locations - Acropolis, Parthenon, Agora, Proplyea, Temple of Athena, Temple of Zeus, Panathenaic Stadium (1st modern Olympics Games), Athens "balcony" to overlook entire city, changing of the guard, National Archeological Musuem, and many many more. The tour was perfect!! Lunch was in Koukaki and I've gotta say that was the BEST gyro I've ever eaten. I get them in the U.S. all the time, but nothing compares to this!!!
George kept us on time, but we never felt rushed even with a jammed packed schedule. He shared history, local expertise, answered questions, and a few laughs along the way. He was knowledgeable, fun, charismatic, just a joy to be around, and we had a blast spending the day with him. Highly recommend this tour from Olive by the Sea!!!
