Itinerary
Begin your hop-on-hop-off bus tour from Syntagma Square (Athens Line), the Piraeus Cruise Terminal (Piraeus Line), or near the Acropolis (Beach Riviera Line; April through October only) and grab a seat on the double-decker bus with a panoramic open top for a scenic drive through the city. You can begin your tour at the time you choose to suit your schedule.
Ride the entire circuit, picking up information about the sights and their history as you go from the audio commentary on board, or get off at stops near the most interesting attractions to take a closer look. When you’re ready, board the next passing bus—buses run about every 30 minutes—to continue along the route. You can ride as many times as you’d like for 24 or 48 hours, depending on the ticket you choose.

- Beach Riviera Route (from Interchange: A2 - Acropolis / PLAKA): Departures at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Duration - 110 minutes

Typical Hop On Hop Off experience. Cruise ship prices are higher and offer little more than Viator. In fact the cruise ship was probably more of a hassle given the lines and waiting that we experienced at other ports 9n the cruise ship tours.

I found it hard to find a bus stop on line. I had to take a taxi to the cruise docks to obtain information from a parked bus.
Very disappointed in the tour information on the ear phones, and The drivers didn’t instruct guests that earphones were available,
I also found some drivers were rude when seeking information about transfers to other routes.

Terrible. Couldn’t see out the window due to advertising decals covering the window. The place to plug in the ear phones was too low to the ground and ear plugs weren’t long enough to reach my husband sitting in the aisle seat. It was a waste of money - couldn’t see and could not listen to the advertised audio tour.

As always (we always do a hop on hop off when we arrive to get an overview) it was what we needed to get our bearings and learn about the city. Stops were a little long and the sounds was a little hard to understand as the sisters is either place overused. But overall definitely worth the money

The bus stops frequently and for extensive periods of time. The routes are short and uncomfortable when sitting in the sun at a stop without a purpose other than giving the driver a break. 1 route with 4-5 10 minute breaks .

We were very excited to be able to hit all of the important sights in Athens but we were a little disappointed. The maps for the hop on hop off tour were very hard to read. Also, our cruise ship did not get in until 1pm and the last bus stopped at 5pm. So, it felt like we spent the whole day on the bus and only got a little time to explore the sights.

Hop on hop off is an inexpensive option and provides an excellent informational tour. With limited time, consider how much you spend waiting to get on and off at the stops. Plus, it wasn’t clear what time the bus would be at each stop, so you never knew how long the wait. Last but not least, I bought what I thought was a hop on hop off for Athens & Pirease. But turns out, that was the name of the business. In actuality, I bought Athens, & had to upgrade at the bus. But it was more than if I just bought at the ship exit. They are all offered at ship egress. Save yourself the internet effort and buy the right one there, with the bus waiting.

Got an overview of the city. Went completely around and got off where we pleased the second time.
Visitor told us only one line runs after oct 31st and ends at 6pm. They actually had the Piraeus line working too and ran until 8pm

I thought the bus was to leave at 8:30 am...nope 8:55 pm. I knew I should have used the blue buses. They left promptly and had the next bus ready to pull in. The same thing happened at Acropolis waiting for the bus and waiting in line saw two other blue buses load and go.

It was very disorganized. The busses were packed like city buses with no access to ear phone jacks. I stood from city to cruise port with no sound access. On the way to Athens the Jack was very static. Terrible experience with Viator.

Mixed feelings on it. The people that were there to get you on and off any of the routes were great and helpful. All was good except on item and that is the bus going back to the port . Instead of having the bus going back to the port coming every hour they need to have more busses going back to the port after like 3pm. There were soooo many people waiting to go back to port and luckily our group got on but there was a huge amount of people that were already waiting that came after us but they had to wait an hour for next bus and then others that didn't get in that next bus had to wait another hour. So I would suggest more busses back to port after 3pm because people have to make the boat. So we felt lucky making bus at 3pm because our boat left at 6:30pm. Might seem like a big span of time but if busses come every hour and you are waiting and don't make a bus because too full it might run you close.
