Our guide Michael G was amazing. Very knowledgeable, kind and professional. We would highly recommend him to anyone.

Easy to find location, walkable from Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel, bring water. One bathroom break. Elena “Helen” was a great guide. I do not recommend for people that are not in pretty good shape, as the walk is not that long but it is up a very steep hi and it is very hot in July.

Very informative. Our guide took care to talk in the shade before getting to the subject and keep us out of the heat and the crowds as much as possible.

Bring a bottle of water. It is hot on the Acropolis. Also our tour guide, Demos, was great, funny and knowledgeable about the history of Athens.

Demos was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable. He was patient and kind. I would highly recommend him for any tour.

What a great experience! John “the Archaeologist” knew this topic well and shared his insights with the group. It was clear that he also had our comfort in mind (restroom and water stops, opportunities for shade and briefly sitting). Thank you for being a fabulous photographer, too!

I highly recommend using a tour guide when you visit the Acropolis because you observe and learn so much more than doing it yourself. In particular, Lidia was an EXCELLENT guide. She had excellent insights on Greek history and culture, and the Acropolis, in particular. She paced the group well and made sure to find shade wherever possible. It was obvious that she knew all the staff at the Acropolis very well and that helped us get VIP treatment throughout the tour. We took several tours during our trip to Greece and Turkey, all of which were outstanding, but my entire family agreed that this one with Lidia was the best!

Great tour - very informative. Be sure to bring sunscreen or something to create shade during the summer months.
Joshua_M, Jul 2026
Amazing day. I cant remember the name of our tour guide but he had done a PhD relevant to the area and topic. Museum was good addition too!
Traci_G, Jul 2026

If you're on the fence as we were – do not be! Book the Acropolis and Parthenon Guided Walking Tour by Athens Walks. The logistics of the tour are excellent - meeting point is easy to find and close to the Acropolis. They provide a headphone system to hear the guide on the tour and not have to filter out other groups. In particular we highly recommend the tour with John the Archaeologist, you will not be disappointed. John has a wealth of knowledge and an incredible amount of passion for the tours he gives. Whether or not you're a history buff and know the backstory John provides the context to help fully appreciate the amazing site. The Acropolis and Parthenon Guided Walking Tour by Athens Walks is a must-do on your trip to Athens!

Our guide was awesome. It was so easy to hear with the headsets and she told all the stories with passion and excitement.

Very informative and efficient way to see the Acropolis. We enjoyed our tour guide and his overall knowledge of Greek culture and history. 8AM was the perfect time slot to enjoy the 2 hour tour and then get some brunch/explore more of the city after!

Excellent experience, loved the organization of the company (seating outside, clear signage, and orderly check-in) and well-planned visit.
Our guide - Petros - shepherded us through the mulling crowds, finding shade for us and showing clear and vibrant images of items he discussed, intentionally gave breaks for toilet, pointed out water vendor, gave time to take photos - even taking a few great ones for us!
We got more than our money's worth, following our guide, Petros ensured we were led safely down the least slippery way down the notoriously treacherous marble steps. We learned SO much and would recommend Petros and Athen Walks to friends and family for sure.

amazing walking tour our guide was full of knowledge we loved every minute of it would highly recommend anyone thinking of booking it.
Sally_M, Jul 2026
Informative! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history and shared it in an interesting manner. The marble you will walk on can be very slick, so wear shoes with a good grip.
Iveth_P, Jul 2026
Our travel guide was so patient and knowledgeable we traveled with my mom who is 75 years old and the climb is intense but the view is totally worth it. He made history come to life thank you again!!
christina_a, Jul 2026
excellent experience! lydia was a great guide, and it was nice to have a small group & the audio headsets
Glenn_W, Jul 2026

Katie_a, Jul 2026
Demos was an amazing tour guide. Super knowledgable and friendly, would recommend him to anyone doing the tour!
Brenna_M, Jul 2026
The guided tour is well worth the time and money. We learned so much about the Acropolis we would have missed on our own. Angela was funny and smart, a natural teacher.
Bob_V, Jul 2026
The many sites on the Acropolis & informative commentary by Vilma, our tour guide, were worth the effort & cost. We are 74 years old, & the continual walking uphill in the heat can be tiring if you don't prepare with walking at home for a few months. Vilma kept a leisurely pace, which helped a great deal. We won't forget the wonders to which we were exposed.
Synnve_F, Jul 2026
Great and informative tour. Everything from start to finish was smooth and well organized, and our guide Ionna was amazing! :) Would definitely recommend!

This was so much more enjoyable than wandering through the Parthenon on our own. The guide was super friendly, informative, & knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Catherine_F, Jul 2026
Don’t be afraid of the walk up-there are lots of breaks along the way. The tour guide was great. I learned a lot
Michael_F, Jul 2026
This was a wonderful tour led by Helen, a great tour guide. It was very informative and just the right amount of length to keep it interesting. Definitely recommend doing the museum as part of the tour. Thanks for a wonderful day.
Nancy_S, Jul 2026
The walk up to the Parthenon was not as strenuous as expected. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made sure that everyone was taken care of.
Anchita_G, Jul 2026
People opt for the morning slot to beat the heat. But we left the meet up point after 8.30 and by the time we got up it was 9.45-10ish and it’s hot by then. Would rather go straight to top first and cover the smaller stops on the way down instead of up. Wasn’t very value for money in my opinion.
