Be prepared for a climb. The tour guide was excellent. We got a good insight into Greek history amd mythology.

We really enjoyed this very interesting tour. Our guide John the archeologist was fantastic! He was truly an expert that made it interesting with the perfect balance of facts, stories and entertainment. Highly recommend!

The tour was very well organized and ran on time. Faye, our tour guide, was great—very knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable. We appreciated how smoothly everything was planned and would definitely recommend this tour.

Helen was an amazing guide. I so appreciated her knowledge and expertise. Definitely worth going with a guide to get a fuller picture of the Acropolis site. The only snafu in our was that our headsets got scrambled with another guide’s tour, but it was sorted relatively quickly.

Great tour. Go early in the morning to avoid crowds and heat. Wear good shoes for uneven and rocky surfaces.
Heidi_G, May 2026
Informative tour. Our guide Lydia is very knowledgeable with meticulous presentation of the history, yet thoughtful of the guests. She took great care of guests from various age groups and adjusted the pace of the tour to ensure no one is left out.

Great experience, would defiantly do again. Our guide was phenomenal and went above and beyond when we had a little medical issue with one of the people in our party.

Outstanding tour with highly educated experienced guide/archaelogist Elizabeth. She was wonderful. Be sure to book both the Acropolis and the amazing museum where you can see the recovered artifacts, learn and see through glass floor to the current ongoing excavation. Go early on the day…..if possible….Avoid visiting mid May through mid-Sept….too hot and extremely crowded.

Guaranteed ticket and great tour guide! Weather is spectacular!
The audio system was comfortable in the ears (unlike others I’ve used) and audible (ditto!)

I have always been fascinated with Greek classics and mythology so seeing the Parthenon and Acropolis in person was truly breathtaking. Our tour guide, Vangeles, was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and passionate about history, which really elevated our tour experience! We also visited the Acropolis Museum as part of the tour and again, Vangeles was so good at picking out the things we should look at and explaining everything in compelling detail. I highly recommend this tour (and hope you will also be lucky enough to get Vangeles as a guide)!

I took the 8am tour with Iris. Even at that hour, the site is quite busy. We had individual headphones which worked well. The route up to the site is a bit of a climb involving uneven ground, but Iris paced the walk well, stopping to point out interesting things along the way, such that even the oldest member of the group was able to keep up without issue. Iris was clear, easy to understand, marshalled the group well, and had lots of interesting history to tell us about. I was glad I had her in the museum, as I think I otherwise would have found it a bit dry, but she was able to take us through the interesting bits, and then afterward, we had time to look around. A well paced tour which I'm glad I did.

great tour - tour guide was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with. Gave a lot of great tips for getting around Athens. I highly recommend.
Laura_S, May 2026
This educational tour was great - I learned a lot about both the history and the mythology surrounding the Acropolis and the museum. This group was smaller than other tours we saw up there, which I appreciated

John the Archeologist was truly the best!! He was so informative but kept me and my husband entertained and engaged! He even paused to quickly take pictures of our group at the best spots!! Cannot recommend this tour enough

The Acropolis Monuments & Parthenon Walking Tour was one of the highlights of my trip to Athens. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history of ancient Greece to life with fascinating stories, myths, and historical context that I would never have appreciated on my own.
Walking through the Acropolis felt surreal, especially seeing the Parthenon up close. The tour was well-paced, with plenty of opportunities to take photos and ask questions without feeling rushed. I also appreciated how the guide explained the significance of each monument in a way that was engaging and easy to understand.
The views overlooking Athens were absolutely stunning, and learning about the architectural achievements of the ancient Greeks made the experience even more impressive. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens, whether you’re a history enthusiast or just want a deeper understanding of one of the world’s most iconic landmarks. Comfortable shoes and water are definitely recommended, especially during warmer months!

We had a wonderful, pleasant guide who had lots of enthusiasm for and knowledge of or the subject material. I'm glad that we did this tour in the month of April. I cannot imagine how hot and crowded it must be in the summer. Go early!! Bur, definitely go!
Stuart_M, May 2026
Tour guide’s name was Margret. Spoke very good english and was very informative.
Be warned that some stairs are slippery and the ground is uneven.
Joella_W, May 2026
Superb guide! I would give her 10 stars. She was affable and genuinely knew her material. The climb up to the Acropolis, however, is a challenge, especially for an "advanced senior" (over 80) such as I am. Be prepared! I was grateful for my grandson's strong arm. I didn't expect so many groups of climbers at 9am on an April weekday. It was impossible to step aside and take in the vista, much less study detail.
Theodore_M, May 2026
The site was exceptional as advertised.
Our guide Artemis was also exceptional
Would highly recommend and definitely go with the first tour in the morning to avoid larger crowds and afternoon heat
Also engage the optional museum tour
Edward_P, May 2026
We had a great time. Our tour guide, Ellie was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, passionate, and warm and funny about explaining details of the Acropolis. We also did the optional museum tour which enabled us to get so much more out of the experience, we recommend doing both.

While we enjoyed Effie, she did talk too much and we felt we didn't get a good tour of the acropolis museum and sights themselves. She talked a LOT about all the greek gods and their histories, but I didnt want a greek mythology tour, I wanted to learn about the parthenon and and the other sites on the acropolis and surrounding areas. I didn't learn anything about the history or architecture or anything about those, but i know all about how athena was born and how zeus was a cheater and how all the gods interacted with each other etc. the stories were cool, but we probably only got like 30 minutes at the sites themselves. the rest was spent standing at the base hearing about how all the medical terms we know come from the greek language. We also were supposed to end by 1pm, and it was 2:30 and we hadnt even gotten to the second floor of the museum yet when she said ok thanks so much bye. we got 10 minutes to walk around the acropolis, not even long enough to take decent photos. we went back and visited the acropolis again on our own the next day and used the free audio guide and got more out of it and learned more with it than we did with this walking tour. I was really dissapointed and would not recommend to anyone else.

Very informative and well worth the struggle of getting through the crowds. Yannis was a great guide.
maria_a, May 2026
Victor, our guide, made this tour the best we have had. His knowledge and ability to share it is exceptional. He made this experience the most enjoyable
Ray_P, May 2026
Despite overcast skies and surprisingly blustery winds (apparently quite rare for Athens in May), the tour was outstanding. Stevi was knowledgeable, engaging, and paced things perfectly, bringing the history of the Acropolis of Athens and the Parthenon to life in a way that was easy to follow and thoroughly enjoyable. The subsequent tour of the Acropolis Museum was equally impressive. All in all, it was a well-organised, informative experience that I would highly recommend.
Chris_C, May 2026
Great tour, starts early to avoid the most crowded times. Quite informative about the archaeological site, and the history and myths surrounding them. Must do while in Athens.
Daniella_H, May 2026
The tour moved at a very slow pace and the majority of the time was spent at the base and stopping on the way up rather than at the top of the Acropolis. We also had difficulty understanding the tour guide, which made it hard to fully enjoy the experience.
Calvin_M, May 2026
What a great informative tour. Our guide Vangelis was excellent. Very knowledgeable and gave us a thorough understanding of the ancient world and history of the Acropolis and Parthenon and other artifacts. Also his commentary in the Acropolis Museum was also very informative.
