Wonderful experience, beautiful history! Loved our guide Nicky! She was excellent! And kind and fun!
Debbie_P, Aug 2026
Great tour! We booked the 5:30 pm tour. The meeting point was easy to find and not far from the entry point. It was very hot (Make sure to bring water with you since the water available is very hot and not drinkable). Our tour guide, Dionysus, knew exactly where to stop so we were in shaded areas where he shared his knowledge. Dionysus was pleasant, prompt, and knowledgeable! At the end of the tour we were left to navigate our way down ourselves which allowed for us to watch the sun go down, the flag being taken down, and take many pictures! Ask for Dionysus. You won’t be disappointed! Highly recommend!
Rachel_W, Aug 2026
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Phillippia! She was very knowledgable about Greek history without it being too overwhelming. She was also very good about leading us into the shade since it was pretty hot out. We felt that having a guide for our time in the Acropolis was very worthwhile, otherwise it's hard to know what you're looking at.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Dear Rachel,
Finding that balance between rich history and an easygoing pace is an art, and Phillippia is a master at it—shade hunting included! Having a guide to bring ancient sites to life really makes all the difference on the Acropolis.
Thank you for your lovely review, and we hope you carry wonderful memories of your time in Athens!
Warmly,
Athens Walking Tours Team
Dan_B, Aug 2026
Our guide was knowledgeable, and we learned so much about the history and current renovations of the Acropolis. Easy to book, meet up, and navigate.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Hey Dan,
Thank you so much for the fantastic review!
What a pleasure to hear you learned so much about both the ancient history and the ongoing restoration work at the Acropolis—and that the entire process from booking to meeting up was smooth sailing.

All of our tours were on time, very good English. They were all very patient with questions and slower people. My recommendation on very hot days is that you continue to move rather than standing a talking.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hi Marie,
Thank you so much for the review! We're glad to hear all your tours were on time and that you found our guides patient, helpful, and easy to understand.
We really appreciate your practical tip about keeping on the move on those scorching days—it’s great advice for beating the heat while taking some rest when needed. Have a nice day!

Anita_D, Jul 2026
The acropolis and Parthenon are amazing. However, it was about 95 degrees in Athens and the walk was incredibly strenuous—not moderate as stated. Also, while we enjoyed all the info shared by our guide, given the incredible heat I think most in the group would have preferred cutting down the talk and getting to the top more quickly. Also, while shade wasn’t abundant it would have been wonderful to find more shady spots.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hey Anita,
We’re so glad you enjoyed seeing the incredible Acropolis and Parthenon, but we regret to hear the heat and incline made the walk so grueling.
Athens summers are definitely no joke! You make a great point—when the temperature hits 95°, even a standard walk can quickly feel strenuous, and keeping talks brief in favor of finding shade and moving at a comfortable pace is key.
We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team so our guides can better adapt their pacing and stop selection on extremely hot days.
Thank you for taking the time to share your honest thoughts with us.

Just make sure you go to the meeting point indicated!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hey Jeff,
We are pleased to hear you had an excellent experience exploring both the Acropolis and the Museum with us! Having the entry tickets pre-arranged really does make the morning seamless so you can just focus on taking in all that incredible history.
Thank you so much for pointing out the importance of double-checking the meeting point—that is super helpful advice for future travelers. Safe travels!

After a booking error on my part, we were met inside and given a fantastic tour. I particularly liked how the different eras of the acropolis were explained to better understand the acropolis we see today.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hey Connor,
We're so glad our team could help get things sorted quickly after the booking mix-up so you didn't miss out!
Deppy is wonderful at peeling back the layers of time, and we love that her breakdown of the different eras helped you appreciate the Acropolis in a whole new light. Thank you for sharing your experience, and safe travels wherever your journey takes you next!

Our guide, Dionysys, was awesome, informative and worked to make our experience as positive as possible. It was super hot, so he tried to keep us in the shade. He was extremely knowledgable and took a couple group photos for us. He had great energy and fit with the personality of our group.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hey Angela,
Thank you so much! We are pleased that Dionysus fit your group's personality so perfectly and brought such great energy to the tour. We're especially glad he kept everyone comfortable in the shade during the intense heat and captured those memories for you. Thank you for sharing!

Demetrius was amazing! We had the best tour with him and felt like this was the perfect length tour to learn about the Acropolis. The tour was both informative and fun, would highly recommend.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hey Adelynn,
Thank you so much! We are pleased to hear that you had the best time with Dimitris and that the tour felt like the perfect length. Making history both informative and fun is exactly what we love to do. We truly appreciate the high recommendation!

Melanie_G, Jul 2026
Christina was a fantastic tour guide… friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. She brought the history of the Acropolis to life and made the experience both informative and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend booking this tour. One thing to be aware of: the ticketing process can be a bit confusing. Regardless of which tour option you select, you’ll still need to purchase the €30 Acropolis entrance ticket separately. Knowing that ahead of time would have made the process much clearer.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hey Melanie,
Christina really knows how to make those ancient sites tell a story, it's rewarding to hear she made your trip down memory lane so engaging and informative!
You also made a great, pro-tip point about the ticketing. The local archaeological authorities handle the site entry fees separately from our guided tours, so that extra €30 ticket is definitely crucial info for a smooth arrival. We appreciate you highlighting that to help out future travelers!
Thank you for the recommendation and the helpful feedback.

We took the tour at 5:30pm and it was very hot! I recommend an early tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The views were incredible. Worth the price!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hey Michelle,
Thank you for the great review!
That 5:30 PM sun can certainly be intense, so we really appreciate your helpful recommendation for future travelers to opt for an early morning slot.
We are so glad that despite the heat, you found the tour worth every penny, enjoyed the incredible views, and had a wonderful, knowledgeable guide to lead the way!

Mark_B, Jun 2026
Dimitrius was fantastic! Very patient, knowledgeable and was careful to allow frequent stops in the shade during high heat. Highly recommended. Note our tour took a full 4 hours between Acropolis and the museum.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Mark,
Thank you for the excellent review!
Dimitris really is fantastic at pacing the day—keeping everyone safe and comfortable in the shade is a top priority during that intense summer heat. We also appreciate you mentioning the 4-hour timeline; between the depth of the Acropolis and the incredible artifacts in the museum, there is so much history to take in, and we love that you got a thorough, unhurried experience.
Warmly,
Athens Walking Tours Team
Jonathan_R, Jun 2026
Our guide Christina was excellent. She was able and willing to talk more in-depth than other guides we’ve experienced. We appreciated that. Thank you for a great tour!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Jonathan,
Thanks for the fantastic feedback!
We love that Christina took you deep into the history instead of just scratching the surface—she really knows her stuff and loves sharing those extra layers with curious travelers. So glad it stood out as a highlight for you!

Be prepared to learn interesting history. Wear sunscreen. Very little shade. Wear good walking shoes. Tour guides very knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey David,
Thank you so much for the great review and for sharing such practical, spot-on advice for future travelers!
It's true, good walking shoes, sunscreen, and being ready for a fantastic history lesson are absolute essentials for making the most of the Acropolis.
We're glad you enjoyed the tour and found our guides so knowledgeable!

Tell the guy speak to the microphone might have to cover the phone a bit with his hand, as the noise of wind made his voice un audible.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Christopher,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this feedback. We understand how the wind noise made it difficult to hear your guide clearly during the tour.
We completely agree that handling windy conditions on the Acropolis can be tricky, and your practical tip about covering the microphone is excellent.
We will share this feedback directly with our guiding team so they can keep a closer eye on audio quality when the wind picks up. We appreciate you helping us improve the experience for future guests!

Our tour guide, Antonis, was well informed, entertaining, and just fantastic! The tour was easy to find/meet and a great experience overall.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Daniel,
We are so glad to hear that finding the meeting point was a breeze and that you had such a great experience overall!
Antonis is fantastic at blending deep history with plenty of entertainment, so we will definitely pass your wonderful feedback along to him. Thank you for exploring the Acropolis with us and for taking the time to share your review!

Athens Walking Tours Team
Reece_H, Jun 2026
I would say this tour is great for learning about the history of the Acropolis (which is what I wanted) however, for the price, I am unsure it is worth it. The quality of the head set is really budget so with any kind of wind you are unable to hear the host at all. Many people were complaining amongst the group and a few even walked off. Maybe, if there was no wind this tour would be good, but given the location.. there will be wind.
Aleksandra_L, Jun 2026
100% worth it! Really makes you appreciate all the history and structures you’re viewing. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Aleksandra,
"Do it! Trust me." — now that is the ultimate recommendation!
We love hearing that the tour made all those ancient structures and history truly come alive for you. It's exactly why we do what we do. We're delighted that our guide made the experience both fun and deeply knowledgeable!
Thank you so much for the enthusiastic shout-out!

Guided tour for this is totally worth it. We had an amazing tour guide who was definitely passionate about the history of Acropolis and Athens. Logistics were fine. Everything got started on time and we had a great tour.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Tanya,
Starting on time, smooth logistics, and a passionate guide are the exact ingredients for a perfect tour! We are absolutely happy to hear that the experience was totally worth it and that our guide's love for Athenian history made your visit so amazing.
Thank you so much for choosing us to explore the Acropolis and for sharing your great experience!

Kimberly_P, Jun 2026
Obviously a must see in Athens to go see the Acropolis! It was a hot and windy mid-day, so it was a little exhausting. It was fun to see everything, but we did feel like even 2 hours got a little long and the tour would be perfect to be condensed a bit to about 1.5 hours or allow the last 20-30 minutes for pictures. It was interesting though!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey there,
The Acropolis is definitely an absolute must-see, but that midday heat and wind can certainly take a lot out of you!
We really appreciate your honest feedback about the timing. Balancing all the incredible history with the elements can be a challenge, so your suggestion about condensing the talking points or structuring more designated photo time at the end is super helpful for us to keep in mind.
We're glad that you still found the history interesting and had fun exploring everything with us!
Warmly,
Athens Walking Tours Team
Olivia_G, Jun 2026
Had a great tour with Magna :) wanted a walking guide at the acropolis before our flight & it was perfect and about 2 hours. She was very knowledgeable and kept us engaged. Otherwise we would’ve been walking around years of history without knowing. We skipped the museum section since we had to leave for flight and we still felt like it was enough. Saw everything and kept us at a pace that everyone could keep up.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Olivia,
Thank you for the great review! We are so glad that our guide provided the perfect, engaging 2-hour tour before your flight. Walking around thousands of years of history without a guide just isn't the same, and we're so happy she kept everyone at a great pace and made the history come alive. Safe travels, and thank you for making us your final stop in Athens!
Warmly,
Athens Walking Tours Team
Timothy_Y, Jun 2026
Our tour guide skipped several places that she explained, but we didn't see. She was not very tall, but didn't carry a flag or anything for us to follow. So with as many people as were at the Acropolis it was incredibly difficult to stay with her. She didn't give us time to take pictures, but we had to keep up with her as to not lose her in the chaos. We actually had a couple people in our group get lost for a time. On the positive side, our tour guide had a lot of interesting information to share. I just would not recommend this particular tour to anyone.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Timothy,
We really appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback, and we apologize to hear that the experience turned into a stressful race through the crowds instead of an enjoyable tour.
While we’re glad our guide's insights and information were interesting, getting separated in the Acropolis chaos is indeed frustrating. Our guides aim to be easy to spot—whether with a sign, a bright accessory, or a clear focal point—especially when navigating heavy crowds, and pacing should always allow a moment for photos.
We are also looking directly into why portions of the itinerary felt skipped rather than properly guided. We take this seriously and are addressing your notes with our team to ensure our pacing, visibility, and crowd management keep everyone safely together and relaxed. Thank you for helping us look at what we need to sharpen.
Please, feel free to contact us at info@athenswalkingtours.gr and share with us which spots on the itinerary got missed. We would like to look straight into what happened, so any extra details you can share would be incredibly helpful!
Warmly,
Athens Walking Tours Team

This was a wonderful experience! We had Sophia as our guide. She was super knowledgeable and she made the whole tour amazing. She was really funny, personable, and accommodating. She made a point to stop for breaks along the way in shady areas where we could also sit. She even recommended a local restaurant and bar for us to go to after. 100/10 service from her! The tour itself was also incredible. Seeing that the ruins in person was such a wonderful experience. At the top of the hill, there was amazing views of the city!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Niangi,
A 100/10 rating for Sophia is absolutely incredible! She is indeed wonderful, and we are so glad that her knowledge, humor, and personable nature made your tour so amazing.
It is fantastic to hear how accommodating she was, from finding those perfect shady rest spots to giving you great local recommendations for food and drinks afterward. Standing among those ancient ruins in person and soaking in those breathtaking city views from the top is truly unforgettable.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

Our tour guide Eva (?spelling) was excellent. She did a great job keeping the group together and engaged, finding the right spots for pictures, and answering questions.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Barbara,
A 10/10 rating is music to our ears! Whether the spelling is Eva or Evah, she is absolutely fantastic, and we are so glad she took such great care of your group.
It's wonderful to hear that she kept everyone engaged, answered all your questions, and mapped out the perfect spots for those memorable photos. Thank you so much for the high recommendation!

Yolanda did a great job- very knowledgeable! She was also patient with a large mixed group. Would definitely recommend!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Jennifer,
Thank you so much for the high recommendation! Managing a large, mixed group takes a lot of patience, and we are so glad Yolanda did such a great job keeping everyone engaged with her incredible knowledge.
We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we'll be sure to pass your kind words along to Yolanda!

I think the visit is best in morning or later in day due to heat/sun. Bring a water bottle with you! Walk slow and enjoy the journey. This is a must do!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Kim,
You gave some absolute golden advice there! Timing your visit for the morning or later in the day is the best way to handle the Athenian heat, and staying hydrated is a must.
Walking slow and just soaking in that incredible history and view is exactly how the Acropolis should be experienced.
We are so glad you consider it a must-do, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share these great tips with other travelers. Thank you for joining us!
