We took the tour at 5:30pm and it was very hot! I recommend an early tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The views were incredible. Worth the price!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hey Michelle,
Thank you for the great review!
That 5:30 PM sun can certainly be intense, so we really appreciate your helpful recommendation for future travelers to opt for an early morning slot.
We are so glad that despite the heat, you found the tour worth every penny, enjoyed the incredible views, and had a wonderful, knowledgeable guide to lead the way!

Dimitrius was fantastic! Very patient, knowledgeable and was careful to allow frequent stops in the shade during high heat. Highly recommended. Note our tour took a full 4 hours between Acropolis and the museum.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Mark,
Thank you for the excellent review!
Dimitris really is fantastic at pacing the day—keeping everyone safe and comfortable in the shade is a top priority during that intense summer heat. We also appreciate you mentioning the 4-hour timeline; between the depth of the Acropolis and the incredible artifacts in the museum, there is so much history to take in, and we love that you got a thorough, unhurried experience.

Our guide Christina was excellent. She was able and willing to talk more in-depth than other guides we’ve experienced. We appreciated that. Thank you for a great tour!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Jonathan,
Thanks for the fantastic feedback!
We love that Christina took you deep into the history instead of just scratching the surface—she really knows her stuff and loves sharing those extra layers with curious travelers. So glad it stood out as a highlight for you!

Be prepared to learn interesting history. Wear sunscreen. Very little shade. Wear good walking shoes. Tour guides very knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey David,
Thank you so much for the great review and for sharing such practical, spot-on advice for future travelers!
It's true, good walking shoes, sunscreen, and being ready for a fantastic history lesson are absolute essentials for making the most of the Acropolis.
We're glad you enjoyed the tour and found our guides so knowledgeable!

Tell the guy speak to the microphone might have to cover the phone a bit with his hand, as the noise of wind made his voice un audible.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Christopher,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this feedback. We understand how the wind noise made it difficult to hear your guide clearly during the tour.
We completely agree that handling windy conditions on the Acropolis can be tricky, and your practical tip about covering the microphone is excellent.
We will share this feedback directly with our guiding team so they can keep a closer eye on audio quality when the wind picks up. We appreciate you helping us improve the experience for future guests!

Our tour guide, Antonis, was well informed, entertaining, and just fantastic! The tour was easy to find/meet and a great experience overall.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Daniel,
We are so glad to hear that finding the meeting point was a breeze and that you had such a great experience overall!
Antonis is fantastic at blending deep history with plenty of entertainment, so we will definitely pass your wonderful feedback along to him. Thank you for exploring the Acropolis with us and for taking the time to share your review!

I would say this tour is great for learning about the history of the Acropolis (which is what I wanted) however, for the price, I am unsure it is worth it. The quality of the head set is really budget so with any kind of wind you are unable to hear the host at all. Many people were complaining amongst the group and a few even walked off. Maybe, if there was no wind this tour would be good, but given the location.. there will be wind.
Aleksandra_L, Jun 2026
100% worth it! Really makes you appreciate all the history and structures you’re viewing. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Aleksandra,
"Do it! Trust me." — now that is the ultimate recommendation!
We love hearing that the tour made all those ancient structures and history truly come alive for you. It's exactly why we do what we do. We're delighted that our guide made the experience both fun and deeply knowledgeable!
Thank you so much for the enthusiastic shout-out!

Obviously a must see in Athens to go see the Acropolis! It was a hot and windy mid-day, so it was a little exhausting. It was fun to see everything, but we did feel like even 2 hours got a little long and the tour would be perfect to be condensed a bit to about 1.5 hours or allow the last 20-30 minutes for pictures. It was interesting though!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey there,
The Acropolis is definitely an absolute must-see, but that midday heat and wind can certainly take a lot out of you!
We really appreciate your honest feedback about the timing. Balancing all the incredible history with the elements can be a challenge, so your suggestion about condensing the talking points or structuring more designated photo time at the end is super helpful for us to keep in mind.
We're glad that you still found the history interesting and had fun exploring everything with us!
Warmly,
Athens Walking Tours Team
Olivia_G, Jun 2026
Had a great tour with Magna :) wanted a walking guide at the acropolis before our flight & it was perfect and about 2 hours. She was very knowledgeable and kept us engaged. Otherwise we would’ve been walking around years of history without knowing. We skipped the museum section since we had to leave for flight and we still felt like it was enough. Saw everything and kept us at a pace that everyone could keep up.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Olivia,
Thank you for the great review! We are so glad that our guide provided the perfect, engaging 2-hour tour before your flight. Walking around thousands of years of history without a guide just isn't the same, and we're so happy she kept everyone at a great pace and made the history come alive. Safe travels, and thank you for making us your final stop in Athens!
Warmly,
Athens Walking Tours Team
Timothy_Y, Jun 2026
Our tour guide skipped several places that she explained, but we didn't see. She was not very tall, but didn't carry a flag or anything for us to follow. So with as many people as were at the Acropolis it was incredibly difficult to stay with her. She didn't give us time to take pictures, but we had to keep up with her as to not lose her in the chaos. We actually had a couple people in our group get lost for a time. On the positive side, our tour guide had a lot of interesting information to share. I just would not recommend this particular tour to anyone.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Timothy,
We really appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback, and we apologize to hear that the experience turned into a stressful race through the crowds instead of an enjoyable tour.
While we’re glad our guide's insights and information were interesting, getting separated in the Acropolis chaos is indeed frustrating. Our guides aim to be easy to spot—whether with a sign, a bright accessory, or a clear focal point—especially when navigating heavy crowds, and pacing should always allow a moment for photos.
We are also looking directly into why portions of the itinerary felt skipped rather than properly guided. We take this seriously and are addressing your notes with our team to ensure our pacing, visibility, and crowd management keep everyone safely together and relaxed. Thank you for helping us look at what we need to sharpen.
Please, feel free to contact us at info@athenswalkingtours.gr and share with us which spots on the itinerary got missed. We would like to look straight into what happened, so any extra details you can share would be incredibly helpful!

Athens Walking Tours Team

This was a wonderful experience! We had Sophia as our guide. She was super knowledgeable and she made the whole tour amazing. She was really funny, personable, and accommodating. She made a point to stop for breaks along the way in shady areas where we could also sit. She even recommended a local restaurant and bar for us to go to after. 100/10 service from her! The tour itself was also incredible. Seeing that the ruins in person was such a wonderful experience. At the top of the hill, there was amazing views of the city!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Niangi,
A 100/10 rating for Sophia is absolutely incredible! She is indeed wonderful, and we are so glad that her knowledge, humor, and personable nature made your tour so amazing.
It is fantastic to hear how accommodating she was, from finding those perfect shady rest spots to giving you great local recommendations for food and drinks afterward. Standing among those ancient ruins in person and soaking in those breathtaking city views from the top is truly unforgettable.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

Our tour guide Eva (?spelling) was excellent. She did a great job keeping the group together and engaged, finding the right spots for pictures, and answering questions.

A 10/10 rating is music to our ears! Whether the spelling is Eva or Evah, she is absolutely fantastic, and we are so glad she took such great care of your group.
It's wonderful to hear that she kept everyone engaged, answered all your questions, and mapped out the perfect spots for those memorable photos. Thank you so much for the high recommendation!

I think the visit is best in morning or later in day due to heat/sun. Bring a water bottle with you! Walk slow and enjoy the journey. This is a must do!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hey Kim,
You gave some absolute golden advice there! Timing your visit for the morning or later in the day is the best way to handle the Athenian heat, and staying hydrated is a must.
Walking slow and just soaking in that incredible history and view is exactly how the Acropolis should be experienced.
We are so glad you consider it a must-do, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share these great tips with other travelers. Thank you for joining us!

Wonderful and informative tour of the Acropolis, the theater of Dionysus, The Temple of Athena and the Parthenon. Our guide Niki was kind, helpful and informative. Wear good shoes for uneven ground and sun protection as there is little shade.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hi Rhonda!
Thank you so much for the pleasant review! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your walk through the myths and ancient ruins with Niki, and we'll be sure to pass along your kind words about her helpful and informative guiding style.

Wear comfortable shoes. Not sandals. Slippery even when dry. Bring water. View is worth it. Guide was excellent but windy conditions muffled her.
Response from Host, May 2026
Love the pro-tips, Kelly! You nailed it—sturdy sneakers are an absolute must.
We’re pleased you found the view worth the hike and that our guide was excellent, though we’re sorry the notorious Athenian winds tried to compete with her history lesson! Next time, we'll tell the gods to turn down the volume. Thanks for exploring with us!
Warmly,
Athens Walking Tours Team
Laura_K, May 2026
Dora was a great guide. Very knowledgeable about the acropolis and its history. Even with the rain, puddles, and crowds she remained patient with us and had our safety as her top priority.
Response from Host, May 2026
Hi Laura! A little rain couldn't dampen the ancient magic, and we're so glad you still found it worth it! Dora is fantastic, and we love that her focus on safety and her patient energy kept the vibe great despite the puddles and crowds. Thanks for braving the elements with us!

Tour guide Constantina was very knowledgeable, calm and patient. She did a wonderful job of explanation. She could do better at positioning or wearing of speaker so voice does not fade out. The guided tour by her made the event special and much more informative
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for your kind words, Carleen! We are delighted that Constantina’s deep knowledge and patience made your visit to the Acropolis so special.
We also appreciate your specific feedback regarding the speaker positioning. We want to ensure every word is heard clearly, so we will discuss this with our team to improve the audio experience. We're glad that, overall, her insights made the day informative and memorable!
Warmly,
Athens Walking Tours Team
Candace_H, May 2026
Fabulous guide! Definitely strenuous terrain at the Acropolis but worth it, if you have no walking issues. We signed up for the Museum tour too - it followed immediately afterwards so it was tight to get some lunch.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for the "fabulous" feedback, Candace! We are so glad you found the stroll to the Parthenon worth the effort. You're absolutely right—the ancient terrain is a bit of a workout, but the views and history are certainly the best reward.
We appreciate your note regarding the transition to the Museum tour. While we try to maximize the sights, we know that quick turnaround for lunch can be a bit of a dash! We hope the incredible exhibits made up for the tight schedule.
Warmly,
Athens Walking Tours Team
Robert_S, May 2026
Our tour started right by being at the stated pick up point. Our guide, Sophia, was excellent. She did a great job of showing different phot ops with explanations of why they were an important part of beliefs of the time. She allowed plenty of time for people to get pictures and also to get to each point, reminding people that the walk up the hill is very uneven. She was very knowledgeable about the reasons these shrines were built and how they were used. Of course, the Parthenon was the last part of the tour and she gave it the respect it deserves. I’m sure she was aware that it is the main thing people wanted to see. But her whole tour seemed to be set up to set up to finish strong. Considering the tough cold and very windy conditions we had that day, she managed to keep everyone interested and in it to the end. The tour ended at after the Parthenon and we were allowed to stay and explore. We couldn’t have had a better guide.
Response from Host, May 2026
It sounds like Sophia really saved the day! Navigating the Acropolis in cold, windy conditions is no small feat, but we’re excited her expertise and "finish strong" approach kept everyone engaged despite the weather.
It's also a pleasure to know you appreciated the safety reminders and those strategic photo ops—it really makes the climb worth it when you understand the significance behind every shrine along the way. We’ll be sure to pass your high praise along to her. Thank you for braving the elements with us, Robert!

It was great but very long I wish there was a break in between Acropolis and museum. I also did not know that it did not cover the changing of tje guards which would have been cool. Overall a great experience . Our guide Olesya was amaxing!!!!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Hi Melanie, thank you for the great feedback!
We are so pleased to hear that Olesya was amazing—she truly is a star on our team! We appreciate your honest note about the length of the tour.
Combining the Acropolis and the Museum is indeed a deep dive into history, and we'll certainly look into how we can better manage the timing and breaks to keep the energy high. While this specific tour focuses on the archaeological sites, we'd love to have you back for a city walk to catch the Changing of the Guards!
